The 2008 drawing of Nightshade is cool, although I think the 2010 version is the superior of the two. The Crusher WIP also looks great, even better than the previous drawing you did of him.

Erebus has a rather serious looks on his face and in his eyes. Good job, KP.

Nice. That's definitely better than I could have done. The whole head's really good, especially the beak.

thanks

yeah. Erebus is quite literally the most miserable thing i've ever created. regardless of the situation, he WILL find something to be annoyed about, and will more often than not complain. maybe grumble to himself, maybe rant outloud, maybe complain about it to whoever's with him at the time. his redeeming factor is that in spite of his less than pleasant personality and attitude, whoever targets a friend of his may just as well have signed their own will. He's extremely vicious and persistent, and if driven to it, WILL make sure that whatever pissed him off is dead. a hunger-born bad mood had him launch a tree trunk across a river. i think that says something for what could happen if he snaps completely...

Nice! But I do have some advice for shading for you if you're interested:

1. blending stumps - these things work wonders actually.. well.. they're pretty much just tightly rolled up paper.. but really, they're great.

but if those aren't.. available anywhere, you could try tissues. tissues actually do help shade, and avoid smudging all over the place. :P Also, different types of pencils absolutely help if you want to get into deeper shading. 2H = 2 hard. the higher the number the harder it'll get, therefore, the less easy it'll shade.

2B = 2 black. the higher the number the more black and the easier to shade.

Also woodless pencils. They're apparently really great.
But if none of those odd pencils are available.. a regular pencil and a mechanical pencil. They do sometimes shade different because of the dispenser, or at least that's what I find.

Just some advice on shading.. As for anatomy, that's better than I can do with dinosaurs, truthfully. Good stuff. ^^
To keep track:
Amynta - Apatosaurus
Ripto - Velociraptor
Sheila - Velociraptor
Kujo - Stegosaurus

Dang Trikes... they need to learn to be happy... Maybe it's just a chemical in the plants they eat...

Another great drawing from our own Webmaster... I liek the beak especially. 10/10.

i have a few Staedler shading pencils, but funnily enough, i find your standard HB pencils are fairly good at shading....maybe it's because i'm used to them...

ty Gira. but for your information, this particular trike is really, really, really irritable. makes other trikes look like kittens in comparison :P

i've finished the patterns on the head. so next up, i may start the shading...

Ha, but that's the case with most of your characters, not exclusive to Erebus

Regarding the pic, it's pretty damn good, especially the head and face. One thing, I think the front legs are a little too small/stumpy.

So I see... Makes me wonder what would happen if a pissed off Erebus fought a pissed off Crusher...

Crusher'd win. Erebus is tough and dangerous, but Crusher has the size, speed and strength advantage.

@EE: not all of them. and this guy's most comparable to Clint Eastwood in Gran Torino. grumpy, alone and minds his own business, but hell on earth if you piss him off :P

as for the legs, they're normal length. it's just all the saggy skin from age makes him seem short...that's also the reason the neck seems a bit short and fat. the upper part of the neck is hidden by the frill, and the lower has alot of saggy skin giving the impression it's fat [be warned: under that saggy skin is pure, rock hard muscle :P]

Is erebus a pessimist? The look on his face seems to convey that- he looks pissed for no reason.

He's always pissed. Thing rammed a tree out of the ground just because he couldnt find anything to eat. Now that he's on Sorna, he's gonna ram a tree down because the plants taste too good

As for the pic, pretty well done

CS' description's fairly accurate. he's somewhat pessimistic, yeah. constantly grumpy about something. life's given him a hard time, so now he plans to give life a hard time in return :P

That works pretty well actually. Because the protecting friends thing applies with Clint as well, in GT.

precisely. thinking about it, i think one of the subconscious inspirations for Erebus was actually Clint in GT. he has a brother, owned by Tediz. but for now, they are seperate.
