Wtf is that?

THIS IS MADNESS!

ugh...do not quote that horrific excuse for music again. for everyone's sake. people don't deserve to be reminded by how bad most music is these days....

instead, go listen to Disturbed's Another Way to Die.....or Asylum....or The Animal....or The Warrior....etc.

alternately, revert to older music. Metallica's Enter Sandman for instance. Rob Zombie. some of Michael Jackson's stuff if you absolutely must have pop. Smooth Criminal, Beat it, so on...

see those names? once you've heard them, you know music :P . K$sha doesn't qualify as good in my books. she's only slightly better than Hannah Montana, the Jonas bros and Justin Bieber...only difference is she's more of a w****....i'll leave the more mature of you to fill in the gaps in there... :P

now....Halloween...

I don't know much about American holiday dates, so i'm quite frankly oblivious to when Halloween is, but yesterday there was a costume-riding competition at the Riding Club my siblings and mother go to. my little bro won first place for best time through the course, a clear round, and best costume. he was disguised as a thief. you know, the black and white striped outfits cartoon thieves have. complete with a facepaint mask. was the best of the competitors, despite being the smallest and youngest of them. safe to say he was hyper all day long. dunno what place sis got, was apparently part of a tandem-performance where she worked with someone else, who ruined her round by various refusals and near falls from his horse. anyway, point is she was in a frankly disturbing vampire costume [old fashioned Dracula-esque Vampire with a cape and stuff. not Twi-fail], complete with creepy reddish yellow lenses. apparently, on the way to the club she scared the crap out of some puck who drove up to the side of the car and tried to flirt with her [she's a kid, but with the makeup and position, she looked older] via creepy lenses. so that was a plus XD.

@ KP: Oh, yeah, I forgot- you're not in America. Well, Halloween's on sunday, the 31st. Did you dress up for the costume thing? Sounds like fun!

nah. it's almost non existent here. it's limited to the western ex-pats in the country. the Americans living here. the closest thing to halloween we have here is something we call Girgi'an. basically it happens halfway through Ramadhan [Islamic fasting month] and consists of kids ranging from 5 to 16 years old visiting houses in traditional outfits [ultra-traditional. the kind of thing people here were wearing in the 1600s-early 1900s], singing a song [differs depending on gender. girls have a different song to the boys. more lyrics] that basically chants blessings to the people of the house, and get a bag of sweets at the end of it in Halloween-ish fashion. then it's off to the next house...

me being 19 starting Monday, i'm long since out of that little tradition. now my habits during Girgi'an mostly consist of giving out the sweets to the kids :P .

the reason my siblings were dressed up like that was because the Riding Club has quite a few westerners there, so they set up this little halloween costume/riding competition and my bro and sis joined in for fun.

knowing how aggressive western marketing is and how much kids these days are slaves to disney fashion...i'd say it's only a matter of time before Girgi'an is extinct and replaced by halloween....

god kids these days fail so much...

Disney? Bleh.

Yeah, Halloween is an American holiday, which is too bad. Yes, it's a victim of Western marketing, but what in America isn't, honestly? It's easy enough to celebrate Halloween without buying single thing from a Halloween store, anyway. Besides, everything at those places is either cheap as hell, or just really dirty and stupid. I prefer making my own costume (I'm the TF2 Scout this year, for example).

Halloween is a day of fun, free candy, and dressing up in ridiculous costumes for your own entertainment. Screw marketing and commercialism. You don't need that stuff to make Halloween what it is.

I agree with Dinoman. If I had the resources, I'd try my hand at maknig a costume.......

Truthfully, Halloween annoys the heck out of me. I'm tired of the people who run throughout the streets egging, silly stringing, and shaving creaming everything. It's annoying. Go home.

Little kids.. I don't particularly like children, but it's tolerable.
XD

Though if all the people who egg and have shaving cream battles didn't come out, I wouldn't really care one way or the other.

We also know dentists throughout all of the US love this holiday. :P

I've never seen eggings or shaving cream attacks, so I wouldn't know anyways.

It's a big thing here. Kids love it. At least where I am.
It's disgusting after Halloween on the streets here. Seriously.

I'm in NYC. Well, not quite Manhattan, but extremely close to it, only about 15 minutes away. (The boroughs are technically NYC. NYC is not limited to Manhattan).

That said, you never really know what you'll find ._. xD
