The latter usually means you want attention, not that you cared for your friend. If you had stated this before, we would be sympathetic. But you started with "THE WORLD IS BLACK ANGST ANGST" and were perceived as annoying as f*ck.
Regardless, if that is indeed the case, I am sorry for your loss, and the loss experienced by your friend's family.

Still...harsh as it sounds, life goes on. You'll never forget your friend, but you shouldn't choose to drown in the pain and sorrow rather than to go on living your life. I've said it before and I say it again; loss, hardship...they make us stronger for the experience. Without the pain, we wouldn't be quite human.
