to be honest, I'm interested to see what they'll do with it. Jaws had some awesome moments, but also some terrible moments over it's lifetime in the movies. I'm hoping they might do something good for once and make it more believable...a new, unique, mind blowing shark movie...

It's what Hollywood LOVES to do, people... They just enjoy butchering up poeple's childhoods by twisting the movies/shows they loved into atrocities barely recognizable as the original source...

That is no justifiable reason. Seeing Bruce (the shark)'s teeth bend around Quint's waist while the man's screaming in agony will be one of the few moments in cinema history where camp and horror meet. Just leave it alone -___-

You act like they care about more than profit. 
Like it or not, IF they do a remake of Jaws, people WILL go see it, and they will make a lot of money. They don't give a sh*t about preserving a classic film if they can milk it for all its worth. Look what George Lucas did to the Star Wars franchise.

Yes I already knew about the prequel and I am actually looking forward to it. Ridley Scott is directing it, he directed the first alien film. I have a lot of faith in Mr Scott's ability to make a fantastic film
