I don't like Avatar because the plot sucks and the special effects aren't anything special if you've watched PJ's King Kong (2005). The movie itself isn't bad, but the love for it is overrated IMO.

True, maybe it is overrated, but that doesn't make it BAD. The special effects were fantastic (just because King Kong had them too doesn't make much difference), and frankly, I've heard enough about its plot. Everyone says it's unoriginal, and I agree. That doesn't mean it SUCKS. Pocahantas, Dances with Wolves, all those movies with the same plot? They send an important message. Avatar is simply doing the same exact thing, but with a sci-fi twist. Why is that so wrong? The fact remains that the movie has a very important moral. Namely, don't be a bigoted, greedy, racist a**hole.

Okay, there's lots of movies with plots that have messages. That doesn't mean I have to like the plot. This is one where I don't like the plot.

As long as you don't complain that it was unoriginal, I'm totally okay with that. :P

Seriously, that's all I ever hear about it, and it gets annoying.

Kirin is easily the most bad *ss MH monster. Or, it was, back in the day when it was event-only.

Quite frankly, you can't talk about Avatar unless you saw it in 3d at a cinema. For once, the special effects really made something special. It wasn't about having loads of epic twists or poetic language, or even fantastic acting, it was about creating a world, and almost making it real. Everyone loved Avatar because it was the first film to not only just imagine a world but show it to us almost flawlessly. Peter Jackson's King kong? It was cool, but it wasn't nearly as believable as Avatar was.

I agree. I'll always remember the first time I saw it in 3D. I remember thinking "Damn....and people complain about these effects?" XP

I think I have to agree, despite I don't like the general plot. It's just not my kinda movie, is all, based on what I've seen, not anything like AVATAR SUCKS. I just don't really have an opinion other than the fact that I don't think it'd be my kind of movie, which would therefore make my opinion biased. So I don't have one, but I'll agree with that. :P

(But again, I bring up the point, I don't watch ANYTHING animated anymore, hence not liking the plot. The special effects were out of this world, but, just not my thing)

Titanic is another example of that.. People will complain about it without seeing it, then see it and realize it's a bit more than a love triangle between a poor guy and two rich people on a doomed ship in the middle of the freezing Atlantic. :P
I usually don't like those kinds of movies ("Romance") but Titanic just has a massive amount of symbolism going. As someone who writes poetry, I love the symbolism.

Yeah, it was a great movie indeed. Especially in 3-D.

In other news... been playing some more mud and blood 2. Did a reenactment of a Civil War battle in there for some odd reason...

I only saw it recently.. I thought like most people do.. Two people fall in love, love triangle, and a ship sinks.. well.. I was a lil bit more than just wrong..xD

Generally, I won't watch a movie like Titanic. I only did because it's a classic and I felt a little bit bad for thinking it's such a simple movie without actually seeing it (now refraining from ever doing that kinda thing again, lawl). :P I'm into action and psychological thrillers, mostly.

Otherwise, not into romance at all. Titanic just has this symbolism about it.

ohai :3

But it's not everyone's kinda movie.. Was just sayin'. :P
XD

I just love psychological thrillers. I love the idea of wondering whether or not what you just saw actually happened or you just wasted 2 hours.

I no feel good, anyways. Just got gang-banged outside of my damned home while my little sis watched... results: One black eye, multiple bruises and cuts and serious pain on my part. Little bit of lumps and cuts on their part...
