the reason he's called Evil Joe is because if you consider his japanese name Ebirujo, it sounds like how a Japanese person would say Evil Joe. in fact, i can name a couple of instances in Animes i've watched where that is the case. the name is designed to be a Japanised [ :P ] version of an English name [Ebiru=Evil. Jo=well....Joe :P ]. in other words, naming it Ebirujo in Japanese was as much for how cool it sounded as it was for the fact it was the Japanised version of Evil Joe.

and CS....T.REX T.REX....or Godzilla in some cases....calling it a monkey would probably result in instant castration....or some other horrific punishment by said beast on you for calling it a monkey :P ...

KP:Interesting point. I never took into account that the Japanese name sounded like Evil Joe. BTW, how's the Acid fang drawing coming?

Just took down a Quru and Rathian in the free roam area.

Managed to get 2 flame sacs, which are ridiculously hard to get in Tri.

With my lack of MH beasts, I'd have to say that Qurupeco's my favorite monster, so much so that it's now the 5th member of my team, or rather, th eteam pet...

Ya, today was my first kill actually. Only encountered it once, and killed it, so its relatively easy but fun to fight. Just need LOTS of antidotes.

pah. Gyp's lucky if he can touch you if you know what you're doing. i don't bother taking antidotes when hunting him, unless i'm in the swamp at night. the environment poses more of a threat than the Wyvern does...

weapon power and armour strength =/= skill, in fact, weapons and armour <<<<< skill. a skilled hunter can fight whatever he's up against with average armour and weaponry if he knows what he's doing. hence why i said Gyp's lucky if he can touch you if you know what you're doing. just dodge everything he throws at you and attack in between...

Well, allow to restate what I meant:

I can fight well, but my equipment simply isn't up to snuff yet. Also, Gyps are easy to dodge, yes, but their damn pecking attack always manages to steal something..... it SUCKS.

Comes out? Its already out.

And yes KP, armor and weapons DO make a difference. You see, KP is saying how easy Gyp is because he used to farm him with the one fire longsword (The one you get from Rath materials IIRC). Fire weapon + Gyp's tail = One dead Gyp :P

I actually still have my ludroth armor in Tri, its like level 6 though (Armor spheres ftw), and it grants pretty good skills. Only problem is its fire resistance...it is -15 T_T

Oh and, I finally killed Barioth yesterday! ...Coincidentally, it was with the longsword I mentioned nearly, or at least a form of it :P

even before the Fire Wyvernblade farming, he was easy. sure, fire's the best weapon to use on it, but even without it, staying evasive and slashing it's tail is a really easy way to kill Gyp. gonna flash? sheath the blade and LEAP FOR YOUR LIFE :P

that's basically all there is to it. avoid letting it face you, and if it does, get under it [don't think that works against monsters in Tri though....the vids i saw of Rathalos are disturbing to say the least...]

and lol IK. saw that vid ages ago....notice the flying melynx... :P

not that kind of disturbing...i mean worrying. he can bite and kick people underneath him....meaning now it'll be more difficult to fight him...
