How the hell can something be over rated when they are as low tech as a movie can be?

Godzilla movies are an "acquired taste". Not everyone can enjoy them.

I'm with TT on this one. Also, even if you dislike the films, you gotta admit the music's pretty epic...........

What has production got to do with a movies popularity? (Assuming that's what you meant by "low tech").

Whatever.
I guess I chose my words wrongly. But I really could never get into the movies, dunno why. But I think J Williams, Hans Zimmer, and Danny Elfman have soundtracks that just destroy Godzilla scores as well (which doesnt make the Godzilla music bad, of course. Just saying there's better stuff out there)...

Well, I'll admit some music is a bit better than Godzilla music, but in my opinion, there's nothing that quite tops Arkira Ifukube's themes.

Ya, there are a lot of movie soundtracks out there that wipe the floor with Godzilla music. But considering the relatively low budget of the films, they did come up with amazing music most of the time.

Another thing that bugs me (that I cant help) is that my mind always associates Godzilla with old dinosaur movies, with slow, lumbering, upright dinos and all. I know it's not their fault and all...

Was just the idea back then, and they had to keep the same look throughout the movies, or it would be really stupid (Cough Tristar's Godzilla cough).

Some of the movies, especially from the Heisei series, are actually really well done, in effects and characters. Watching Showa movies first is a good way to automatically dislike Godzilla movies :P

I can't blame you there. I'll admit, watching some old dino flicks, I can see godzilla fitting right in.

goes with being mad. i do the exact opposite of what i'm expected to do...<_>

:P

and TT, it didn't register you guys as online, but that's a standard severely delayed reaction. this is completely different. it won't log in. it freezes mid connection.

and as a side note, i've discovered that yet ANOTHER internet cable has been severed and will take several days to repair at least....oh how i wish there was a better way to use the internet than underwater, reef-covered, coral-raped severely decayed cables that completely ignore things like fault lines and local fauna and flora....it's a disaster waiting to happen....one of these days a massive earthquake is gonna strike somewhere around the globe and the entire region will subsequently become a Dark Zone, completely devoid of internet activity....then they'll regret not using satellites more actively...or at least plan their cable positioning better...or do regular maintenence instead of..you know....ignoring the cables and letting them rot...
