*Artemis takes evasive maneuvers, accelerating and leaping from wall to wall, onto the ground, rebounding off the ceiling, twisting and winding along the corridor before turning further into the fortress, out of the space pirates' scanners' reach, the creature using this chance to turn on his attackers, swatting one of the grenades back at the Koopas attacking him, the explosion killing several dozen of them at once, the Molotov Cocktails shattering on him harmlessly, the creature's thick, fireproof hide easily protecting it from the flames, the creature lunging at a surviving Koopa, impaling it on it's claws before continuing further into the fortress, ripping the Koopa apart in mid air, before letting out a long gurgling roar, echoing throughout the fortress*

*Numerous turrets turn and open fire at Artemis, firing chain-lightning at th emutant, paralyznig his muscles as large, tank-grade bullets rip through his body, a secret emzyme emmited from the bullets prevents his regen from working, instead slowly turning his body into molten slag, the Space Pirate snipers head off to get into firing rage...*

Craefr sticks forth his flaming hand. absorbing the flames, before sending a blast of freezing wind onto the dragon, his form becoming little more than a block of ice, the only unfrozen thing being his head............

*snarling, Artemis curls up, several spikes being launched from his shell with tank-shell like force, ripping through and destroying the turrets, as well as almost everything else around him, the creature standing, a pulse of flames engulfing him, the creature's immensely powerful virus-enhanced immune system destroying the enzymes almost at the same instant they enter his body, the regeneration sealing the wounds in seconds, the creature tearing through the building, reaching the central A/C system, before releasing immense amounts of the virus into the system's generator, spreading it throughout the fortress, infecting all life within, mutations tearing out across the residents' ranks, rapidly bringing the Koopa, space pirate and Sharpclaw army to it's knees, the creatures scattering and destroying the defense systems within the structure in a matter of minutes, as the infection spreads outside of the fortress for a short distance, the site locking the area down to prevent expansion of the virus*

Suddenly, Artemis is grabbed from behind by multiple tentacles, an assimilator having managed to get into the area, the thing rapidly growing to combat his foe as it attempts to assimilate him, shooting a stream of digestive fluid at it..........

*as the Assimilator tries to attack it, Artemis turns to face the attacker, a single large, white hot fireball streaking forward, slamming into the creature and exploding, engulfing it in flames as Artemis pulls free of the tendrils, a wave of flames flowing forward from the creature's mouth as it backs away, claws at the ready, fangs bared*

The thing snarls from the fire, dropping the brunt part from its body, the part trying to become another creature but dying, the thing snarling, growing some more, hundreds of tentacles stabbing, bashing, and swatting the undead creature.

Assimilator: "Only one of us will infect all life here..... and I plan to do it!!!"

*Ryukotseis snickers, his body begins to glow, before letting out a fiery blast of energy, unthawing the dragon, whiel causing Craefr to burst into flames.*

Ryu: I have unfinished work to do...

*Ryukotsei digs into the ground, the dragon heading toward my life energy...*

*Several Koopas and Sharpclaws, having survived the carnage and escaped the castle, trudge through the snow, heading down toward Bowser's Castle..*

Koopa: What the heck was that thing?

Sharpclaw: Some horrible monster spawned from KP's mind, perhaps?

*my form seems to flicker slightly, taking on a smoky look as the shurikens pass harmlessly through me before I become solid again*

*unsheathes my own sword, readying myself*

*Artemis lets off a pulse of fiery energy, incinerating the tentacles as they near, as another fireball slams into the creature, Artemis snarling ferociously at the creature*

*tries to move, only to recieve extreme pain, I open up my eyes, noticing that I'm now extremly burnt, my body covered with burn marks, the most notable one being a spider mark on ym back, my entire body wrapped up in bandages, unable to move, even my face scarred.*

W-what happened? Why am I in this body? cough, cough...

Tiffany: We didn't want you to be a ghost anymore, so we brought you this body, and forced your spirit into it. Yes, it cannot move, but the smell is diffrent, the DNA is diffrent, everything if diffrent from your old self, so much so that Artemis won't be able to know it's you. KP MIGHT be able to see through ti if he looks carefully enough, but your safe for the moment...

Craefr, once again, absorbs the flames before Ryukotsei feels a sharp pain in his back.

"I'm not done with you yet......"

Suddenly, Ryu is violently torn in half by Craefr's dark magic..............

the thing snarls before withdrawing and letting another part of its body fall off, quickly regrowing it, the thing having managed to absorb some of Artemis's DNA, its form becoming even more grotesque, as well as giving it even greater regenative powers. It sprouts crab like legs from the bottom of its body and sharp appendages grow from its front, a large bird like head growing from the top of it before it chomps down onto Artemis, hundreds of tentacles beginning to wrap around the undead creature, his skin slowly being dissolved.............

*Artemis roars as it lunges forward, a massive explosion of flames engulfing the entire Assimilator, Artemis releasing immense amounts of fiery energy, it's spikes, claws and tail glowing white from the intensity as the Assimilator is outright destroyed by the flames*

The assimilator lets out an earth-shattering bellow before violently exploding, flaming body parts being sent in all directions, hitting Artemis, Demons, koopas, and sharpclaws, the assimilator no more.........

I turn to IK.

"It is obvious to me that neither DM nor EE plan to assist us, so I suggest we continue without them."

I draw my blade and press onwards..........

*I nod to G4E and follow, Deathwing and the Albatrion watching the ground from the air to assist in the search for the thing.*

I scan the area, a low hiss coming from the bushes nearby. I turn quickly in its direction, only for a small fussa to run out.

"With all these weird creatures running about here, it will make it very difficult to find the assimilator....."

[Iceking]

This Fussa isn't a disguised thing. It's life force is far different from a thing's. However, something that might help us narrow our search is to consider where we would go on this island if we were assimulators. To find this thing more easily, we ought to think like it.

"Hmmm...."

I scratch my chin in thought.

"Are there any caves nearby? Things rather enjoy claustrophobic or dark places. Both would make a thing very happy, along with a warm, moist environment, such as here............"

*I think for a momment.* The nearest cave is about a couple miles away from us.

*a flames continue to burn for several moments, continuing until even the remains of the assimilator are destroyed beyond recovery, before heading off towards the gates, it's purpose here fulfilled, the entire fortress infested with mutated koopas and sharpclaws, th creature leaving the structure, a recovery drone descending from above and closing around the creature, before ascending back to the UDAV, cleansing systems activating, destroying all alien materials on the creature, before taking it back towards the Africa Complex, it's mission complete*

*zooms in with the Satellite, tracing the signatures of Minene, Sal, Ridley and Tiffany, noting an unidentified presence among them, the scanners checking genetic readings and coming up with a random reading, a second, more intensive spiritual scan going over the area to firmly identify the characters there to ensure they are as they appear, all coming up clear except for the unidentified one, which reveals itself to be Gira*


hmm....possessing bodies now...clever....but futile...still...i think i'll give them a chance to relax....afterall...we have all the time in the world...
