I've just read that the actress from Titanic who played the old Rose died yesterday at age 100. May she rest in peace after having enjoyed a long life.

Well, she DID look pretty old in that movie.... and that was over 10 years ago...

be glad you don't have internet problems. my internet has fallen to lows i never dreamed possible. in the last 3 hours, i've nearly reached the point of punching a hole through my PC monitor 5 different times as a result of rage at my horrendous internet. and this has been going on for several days now...

on a lighter note, i was on the Site's Webhost's page today, and i've discovered there's a new feature that'll allow me to upgrade the site automatically, requiring no manual work and therefore meaning i can't possibly screw it up :P . the only thing left to check now is whether or not the topics and so on will be passed across to the upgraded site afterwards, and if not, whether there is any way i can do so via unconventional means. i've inquired on the Webhost's forums to find out. with a bit of luck, i should have an answer in a few hours time. provided everything goes according to plan [sure, they rarely do, but perhaps this time i'll get lucky] we could be looking at a site upgrade within October. If things go well and everything goes smoothly, i'll start spending some serious cash on getting the Site reworked to be personalised. a personal template [once the site's upgraded i'll make a topic in the Site Stuff section showing several free templates to see which attracts the most interest from you guys, and then have whoever i employ for the template to do a personalised RPGT exclusive version], a personal logo for the site, and possibly even a coat of arms [i'll open a topic about that later to see what you guys think we should put on it], the latter two of which i will commission a professional artist on DeviantArt to do for me.

A: My internet is crapped out too.
B) The topics WILL be transferred over, obviously.
C)I'd rather we did one ourselves, instead of getting some fancy pants DA prick to do it for us.

internet failure sucks....epically...

the design will be ours obviously. i'm about to add a pic to my Art topic of a logo concept i came up with while in Disneyland a couple of years ago. had an artist sprey it onto a hat for me. gonna see what you guys think. the final work will be professionally done though. i might actually ask ERC if she could help somewhere there.

transferred of course. but will they still be active and usable? or will they be like archived files of the previous site setup. sure, it might not make so much sense, but when you consider that we have topics over 4 years old and ongoing, i REALLLLLY can't afford to be even slightly wrong with my info. i need a confirmed, educated, experienced answer. from someone whose done it before and can speak directly from experience. i've asked the question on the webhost's forums because they're using a whole program that does this stuff for them. there are also alot of PHPBB users there. chances are at least a few have gone through updates and know the details completely. the reason i'm so skeptical is because the only base i have to go off, Modding Genesis, has had their topics purged completely every time they updated. whether it was done intentionally or accidentally, and the individual details behind each update instance, are unknown to me. considering they struggled to retrieve the mods they worked so hard to archive, and had to retrieve it manually, casts doubt on the whole 'topics are passed over through updates' idea. i know from my time as a Mod there that several mods were never recovered after updates. mods they would have found use for later. so yeah. can't really blame me for worrying...

I believe they didn't update, but moved the whole site to different servers. hence, the old data was on the old servers.

My Internet is also in crapville right now... videos on Youtube take an hour for me to view, and that's for 5 minute vids, while normal Internet pages have me going off on a walk, and then coming back, only for the page to still be loading... and that's here at the school, where I use my laptop the most... becuase at home, my step-dad wants to use my laptop for Poker tournaments, 24/7... add to the fact that my older brother wants to use it for College papers, and you have me bein very ticked off, very cranky, and VERY ****ING ANNOYED!

hosts allow you to transfer your entire site, with all data, between them.simply moving wouldn't've deleted their data.

Too bad this isn't Soviet Russia then, huh? :P

NOVA's mine now! Not that I can use it without blowing up the entire planet though...
