Revion nickered impatiently and watched as Serenity was still in search of a water source. "It is hopeless, Serenity. We might as well give up and rely on the grass or some other plant for moisture for now." He stamped his hoof and snorted, not wanting to press any further for water. He was quite tired from walking a great distance, and wanted to simply take a rest.
"We will not stop until we find at least something, anything really!" The white unicorn filly was a bit irritated at the older equine. Sometimes she believed that she was the mature one out of the two! "Now quit whining like a colt, and press on...be a stallion." She rolled her eyes and trotted further away from Revion. He was moving too slow for her tastes. "After all, it was your idea to leave the safe haven of the valley and explore the vast world, was it not," she whinnied back.
Revion did not want to continue the argument, so he kept quiet, and snorted. She can be a pain...why did I ask her of all the unicorns to go? Oh yeah, right...friends...that is it... He picked up his gate to a collected trot, trying to keep up with Serenity.
Serenity's ears flickered, trying desperately to listen to any sound of a stream, or river, or even any dripping. She faintly wondered if there were any other creatures in the forest. So far, all they've past was a bunny and a few birds. She halted and waited for Revion to catch up. When he did, she said, "Maybe you should call, or something. Who knows? Maybe someone will come to help us!"
Revion shook his head at her ridiculous idea. "I think you are clearly losing your mind. I recall a filly saying that 'we must be careful.' How about you? Do you remember that?"
"Well, we need water, and we do not know this forest...we need a-a guide, or something to help us...there must be...someone in the same area as us, almost anyone really! Come on, Revion. You are the loud of the two. Shout, or whinny!" Serenity waited patiently. Perhaps this was a stupid idea, but it was worth a shot, wasn't it?
Revion rolled his eyes. "Ok, young one. I will try." He whinnied as loud as he could, but doubted that anyone would hear it. How did they even know that there are any other creatures lurking in the forest? They did not.
