Sarah nodded before she dismounts Ikargu. "So..... before you met me... what did you normally do?"

Khorne sniffs around before he finds a sizable hollow rock sticking out of the ground. he looks inside, and sees that is it only the entrance to a rather spacious cave. Khorne lets out a bark-like growl to alert Hraesvelgr.....

Hraesvelgr turns to face Khorne, before coming over to him while saying, "seems we've finally found somewhere to settle."

"Well, I did the usual things a carnivorous animal would do, and some other things, like explore the world, talk with travellers and others, and usually I'd take a swim in the lake over in that direction," Ikargu replied to Sarah, while glacing over into the direction of a rather large body of water that was close to the ocean itself...

"You can swim?!" Sarah says, surprised.

Khorne says, "Perhaps we should mark it...... leave scent markers, you see."

Hraesvelgr nodded in agreement, before putting the troll carcass down for a moment to help Khorne mark the area.

Ikargu seemed a bit surprised for the moment, before raising a foot up to show Sarah his webbed feet while saying, "I can indeed, my child. Maybe one day, I could teach you how to aswell, considering that lake is only occupied by small creatures, unlike the river itself..."

"Then we'll move as soon as we're done here" rumbled Septimus with a smile, before glancing down under his wing at the black Dragon. Where will you go from here? he inquired mentally...

Arsenic's frown deepened. He had seen all those guards on the way here...but the people of the city didn't seem unhappy. His morals were clashing with the instinctive feeling that if he refused this job, it would be his head under a guillotine. After a minute of thought, he sighed and said, 'What of the pay?'

Draco smiles and says, "200 gold coins. I'd say that after this, you'll deserve it." If one listened closely, a low growl could be heard coming from under the castle........

Khorne begins leaving some markers in and around the czve as warnings, along with marking the entrance......

"I WOULD like to know.... just in case I ever need to." Sarah says in reply.

Arsenic, with his sharp ears, picked up the growl. Fresh doubt flooded his mind, but he still said, 'Very well. I'd like a quick look around, if that's alright. I'll also need to know his daily routine and the best time to make my move.' He paused and added, 'But more than that, you should know I cannot take this job if I have been lied to. My superiors do not allow us to take innocent lives. Killing, though it is our way of life, is never done lightly - we know very well we are killing people, not animals.'

Draco replies, "You're an assassin. You are payed to kill people. If you wanted to have a moral job, you should have thought about that, now shouldn't you?"

The telepathic voice turned cold as ice; even the temperature of the room seemed to drop a few degrees as Arsenic said, 'You are as insolent as you are naive, human.' His eyes, now a piercing yellow that was on par with a hawk's calculating gaze, narrowed. His dark red hair shifted to reveal the tip of a pointed ear. 'What's it to be, then? Will you allow me a look around, to decide for myself if you're telling me the truth?'

Draco notices the change in the elf's eyes. What really makes his expression change, however, is when he notices the pointed ear sticking out from the hair. His teeth and fists clench. Suddenly, he calms down. He will deal with this later. He wanted his father dead. "So be it...... ELF." Draco says the last word, almost disgusted at it........

Uriel shrugged, not putting much thought to it. He had always been a wanderer, and he didn't see any reason to stop that lifestyle now...

The assassin nodded stiffly as his eyes shifted to a pale gray. He'd start with the mind of their client...normally that was where he found lies were spawned. 'This may hurt a little.' With that brief warning, he dove into the human's mind, seeking the answer to his question; was the prince being truthful?

"Well, I suppose we could start your training tommorow, if possible," Ikargu responded to Sarah, before saying, "but first, we'll need to get rest and get prepared for it."

Hraesvelgr soon began laying marks at the surrounding area of the cave, giving others an early on warning to stay away...

Draco felt the elf probing in his mind. The prince verbally lashes out at the elf, saying, "What exactly do you think you're doing, elf?"

Sarah nods. "Sounds like a plan."

Khorne finishes marking the cave, waiting for Hraesvelgr to finish as well....

Hraesvelgr, now finished marking the surrounding area, went back to the cave before picking up the troll carcass. As she did this, she said, "maybe after some rest we can explore those ruins."

Ikargu nodded, saying telepathically to Sarah, "ok. Well, we should get some rest for now..."

Arsenic tightened the hold he had on the prince's mind, like the coils of a serpent. 'Relax and it won't hurt. I'm taking my look around - as you said I could.' He dug deeper, sifting through memories, searching for signs that the king had indeed begun to act irrationally. Thus far, he had found no evidence.

Aviva looked up at the sound, her solid green eyes wary. Her head lifted, forked tongue flicking out a few times. She let out a low growl, letting the intruder know she was aware of its presence.

Draco sighed and waited for the elf to finish. His patience was already thinning......

From atop the mound, Desrium said rather loudly "Greetings, dragon. Do you speak, or are you incapable of such thought?" While his voice was calm, almost aloof of the fact this could be marauder of the wild, he was fully ready to flee back into the forest or fight if need be.

A minute later, Arsenic pulled back. He eyed the prince with thinly veiled disgust. No evidence that the man was telling the truth, and plenty to the contrary. He wanted the king dead for personal gain. 'I don't care for liars, sir,' he said, blinking eyes that had turned the pale blue of a robin's eggshell. 'I apologize. I must refuse this job.'

The black dragon tilted her head. "Of course I can speak," Aviva growled, puzzled now. Her tail flicked. "Can I help you?"
