Chiiill out DM. Doc provided his feelings on the fight, although apparently a bit too...passionately, but I assure you he did not intend to insult you. He said some of the posts were stupid, not the postERS.

Sorry, I've just been very irritable lately, and Doc's response kind of made me... snap a little.

I would guess that you were both effected by real life instances...But now we can return to the task at hand: Now that we've discovered the flaws in the fight, it is up to those who participated to learn from it.

Thats totally fine DM, your well within your rights to snap at me and lash out. A man's gotta defend his honour.

Now, the size thing? I placed Ridley about the same size as something like a charca. In my imagination, it seemed reasonable enough. From what I've seen of the metroid games, thats what ridley generally is. What size did you think he was? (out of curiosity) Relatively similar to Grevious? (ie, around the height of an elephant?)

secondly, the leg thing. Mechanical limbs require just as much design as organic ones. a mechanical limb requires hydraulics, artificial muscles or individual motors in order to function. Generally, power will come from an internal engine rather than individual motors, with the limbs being controlled by hydraulics, like a JCB's digger arm. individual motors would never provide enough power to lift any sort of load, so you'll only find that design with very small scale low performance mechanics (such as a child's toy). As Grevious's legs are encased in armour, I'd assume the hydraulics (or however the mechanics of his legs are designed) are internal, so having a blade rammed through them would most certainly disrupt it, quite severely.

Chances are, something like Grevious would have backup systems to prevent the damage from being critical, but to say it had very little effect would be pushing it.

Thirdly, even a relatively slow character would have a chance to react against an attack like that, even if Grevious was sprinting. I'd understand if Ridley charged, and Grevious rounded him, but he was stationary. As a counter, the attack might have passed, but not as a full fledged move.

However, all of those are mere semantics, my main point was aimed not at the facts of the fight, but the style of the posts. It wasn't fair. Nothing angers me more than someone being denied a chance at reacting.

Especially from an an experienced member like you, I expected better, influencing my over the top response. Now, you said that you didn't care much about the fight, you just wanted to have fun, that's fine, but keep in mind that this is a topic for PRACTISING and improving. While it's meant to be light hearted and fun, this isn't RPGTEW.

Your expected to try your best. I don't think you did. Maybe I'm over estimating your experience, but I got the vibe you didn't really care, that you felt you could get away with anything because 'it was only a practice forum.'

Now, I regret that I insulted you. It was not intentional, nor was humiliating you. But I was quite annoyed and have no intention of tolerating laziness. Maybe laziness wasn't a factor in it at all, maybe they were honest mistakes, but I'm not going to apologise. Regardless of the manner in which I said it, they fact still stands that you need to improve. Now, you can hate me all you want, but don't even dare quit, or decide it's not worth the effort. This forum is just for fun, but it's a communal effort. Everyone needs to pitch in to make the Rpgs and E-wars great. A weak link brings down the quality of the entire thing. We are completely fine with those willing to learn, and really it's not like they are causing any sort of damage, its completely minor, but laziness and complacency will not be tolerated. It isn't fair on everyone else.

So now, think about what I said, start a fight with someone else here, then prove me wrong.

Thanks, I understand that now.

And I was imagining Ridley to be slightly taller than a human when on all fours, probably about the height of Grievous, maybe a bit more.

As for that fight...

Valroz vs. Metroid Prime

Location: Metroid Prime's Lair

Valroz's firey body created a dim glow in the cavern as he looked around, wondering where he was. Sniffing the air, blowing out steam as he did so, the Demon edged farther in, clutching a sword of flame in his right claw...

For this fight, make sure Gira gives you EXACT dimensions on how Metroid Prime is scaled, so that isn't an issue. Saying "Like in the series" isn't exactly a valid way to describe it.

Alright then... Metroid Prime for this fight is abuot 10meters tall and 13 meters long...

High up above Valroz, Metroid Prime stirred, the legs of the creaturebegan to spread out, the mutated Metroid dropped from the ceiling and landed infront of Valroz, blasting the creature onto it's back. Seizing it's chance, MP fired off a volley of missles at Valroz...

Valroz rolled to the side, the missiles exploding next to him, though a few managed to hit his side. Hissing furiously, the Demon stood up to stare down his foe. It was as tall as he was, but also much wider, making it a rather easy target, especially considering the lack of maneuvering room in the cavern. Turning his sword into a bow--he wasn't willing to risk getting close to Metroid Prime--Valroz fired a single flaming arrow at the beast, to see what effect it would have...

*Metroid Prime scuttled to the side, though the flamnig arrow hit him in the leg, though it bounced off, a brief burnnig sensation occured ni MP's leg, the mutated Metroid rocked back, opened up it's mouth, then fired uot an electrical beam from it's maw at Valroz...*

Valroz sidestepped, folding his massive wings against his back to save them from damage as well. He continued firing volleys of arrows at Metroid Prime, aiming for a different portion of its thick armor each time, trying to discern a weak point in the beast...

*Metroid Prime's armored hdie made the vast majority of the arrows bounce off, though 2 of them punctures the beast through the joints on it's legs, MP charged at Valroz with surprisnig speed, the creature delivereda vicious strike with one of it's claws at Valroz, slicing the demon across the chest, though it didn't penetrate all that deeply...*

Valroz stumbled backwards, a small scratch in his chest, the Demon having managed to raise his arms in defense before the creature hit him to minimize damage. In response, he snapped his fingers, causing the two fire arrows to suddenly explode into medium-sized fireballs, causing more damage to Metroid Prime and making it stagger back. Valzo bellowed, transformed his bow back into a sword, then charged, aiming a swipe at one of Prime's legs...

MP bellowed in pain from the hits, the massive creature angrily fired more missles at Valroz, these ones explode at the demon's feet, causing it to loose it's concentration. Taknig advanage of it, MP opened it's maw and fired out a freeznig ray at Valroz...*

Knowing very well that an ice beam could be the death of him, Valroz recovered fast enough to dive forward and land on his stomach, the freeze ray passing overhead, skimming the edges of his wings and encasing them in a thin layer of ice, which rapidly melted away thanks to the Demon's intensely hot form. Within reach of Metroid Prime's legs, Valroz lunged from his prone position, slashing his fire sword at the beast's leg...

MP, thinknig that Valroz was chargeing him, backed up instinctivly, Valroz's swipe having missed as a result, the mutated Metroid brings down it's front claws onto Valrog, causnig numerous cuts on the demon's body, MP then fires off a third volley of missles at point-blank rage...*

Snarling in pain, Valroz rolled underneath Metroid Prime, the missiles exploding behind him. With a throaty roar, he stabbed his sword into Prime's underside, trying to find a way to kill the mutant...

MP screeched in pani and agony as the sword slashed across his underbelly, Phazon began to drip from the wound and spilled onto Valroz, the dangerous fluid began to seep into the demon's blood system, actnig as a deadly poison as MP scuttled to the side, the demon now in attack range, the creature fired off an icy ray at valroz...*

Valroz staggered to his feet, the freeze ray slamming into his chest, the flames around that area of his bod dissipating. Howling in rage, the Demon's entire body becomes wreathed in furious flames, melting the ice into vapor. Valroz leaned forward, spraying flames from his fanged mouth all over the front side of Metroid Prime, using all his anger to focus on attacking, not the pain in his chest...

Metroid Prime backs away from the flames, the sheer heat of the fire causeing much discomfort to the Metroid, MP opens it's mouth, but instead of firing an icy ray, the monster fires a beam of pure Phazon at Valroz..

Knowing the dangers of Phazon by this point, Valroz sidesteps the beam, backing against the cavern wall, swiftly shooting a fire arrow at Metroid Prime's face...
