Damian was in awe by what he saw. This strange beast, with beady eyes, no arms, but a massive maw, was actually... saving them? And it was eatign the machines?! Whatever. It was buyign them tiem to escape, thank god. But first, they had to clear out a few small machiens. Damian soon turned to the crawlers up ahead, firing a single grenade at them....

Now with the Watcher destroyed, Yukari fired the plasma at the oncoming Crawlers, but as she did, it was only then that she and Rebin noticed the allosaur-like beast running around and devouring Crawlers of it's own. What the... "You... gotta be kidding me." Rebin said as he was taken back by the sight of the beast... something in this land... that was actually saving them?!

"Rebin! Quit starring at the cyborg lizard and start helping me!" Yukari's shout brought his focus back, and Rebin continued to fire on the crawlers with his handgun...

Azentoth twisted in the air, slamming onto the ground with a massive quake, the tree raining leaves around him, locked in a permanent list, partially uprooted. He tilted his head upwards and snapped his jaws, tossing the Crawler about in his mouth until finally wolfing it down with much vigor, relishing the electrical jolt as its power flowed into him. The Metal Muncher craved more. Another group of the robots still remained.

The broad headed predator was off like a shot, the ground trembling as he closed in on his quarry...

The Crawlers were scattered by the explosion, some of them destroyed in the blast. Seeing the tactical folly in fighting any longer, the machines quickly retreated, scattering in every direction, like their brethren, at the sight of the Metal Muncher. Fortunately, they had speed and numbers on their side, able to escape in every conceivable direction and scaling any nearby surface to get away...

Damain managed to look back, noting the scattering machines, and suddenly saw the metal muncher barrelign in the direction.

"OH ****!" Damian cried. "GET OUT OF ITS WAY!"

Damain soon ran to the side to avodi the charign titan....

With the ground shaking from the metal muncher's advance, Yukari grabbed Rebin by the collar and yanked him out of the way just in time. "Could you be any slower?" She asked him, to which he sighed. "Sorry... I've had a long day. Dealing with pigs and robots does that to you..." he replied.

"... Atleast those robots are hurrying away." Yukari said as she felt tempted to sit down and rest....

Lowering his jaws, the Metal Muncher snapped at the hind legs of a few retreating Crawlers, keeping pace with them even as they jinked and swerved. In the chase he had locked onto one particular bot, tracking its movements and eventually moving in to intercept it just before it could escape back into the forested swamp. Pulling up in front of it, Azentoth swung his head into the side of a Crawler, batting it off the ground and sending it tumbling across the clearing several feet. He thundered on over to it, pinning it under a taloned foot...

The pinned Crawler squealed and opened fire straight into the Metal Muncher's face, firing bolt after bolt of energy at the creature in an attempt to deter it...

Azentoth recoiled from the blasts, though kept his foot firmly planted. His snout was especially sensitive to the attacks. He dragged his foot over the robot, rolling it over so as to throw off its aim and seizing the lapse in retaliation to move in with his maw, biting into the machine.

Once again, the Crawler simply shattered into pieces, though the blast stung the Metal Muncher's snout this time. The remaining Crawlers had long since vanished, having put significant distance between themselves and their quarry/hunter...

After swallowing the second Crawler whole, the mighty Metal Muncher let out a snort, his snout that he depended on to hone in on his lively prey now overloaded between sensory information and the pain he felt from the robot's attacks. It was always a risk to run when hunting the movers, but the pay off was very much worth it. In all he had consumed over 600 pounds of metal in only a short time span and with it gained the energy that the robots ran on. Their metal would harden his lustrous shell and their power would sustain him for a while longer in the rift so long as he continued living.

With that, he concluded the hunt, the roaming predator walking back into the shade of the trees, far from the quaking beast he was moments before...

Jacob shrugged, following casually, needing no suit of armour or breathing system, everything already built into his own body. Stepping out of the craft, he found the air to be of a similar concentration of elements to Earth's own. All the necessary gases were there. Oxygen, hydrogen, nitrogen, carbon dioxide, the whole lot of it. The ambient temperature reminded him of his tours in the Middle East, though it wasn't quite THAT hot here. For all intents and purposes, it seemed this place was habitable without any kind of risk. But then, looks could be deceiving, as he had all too often seen...

From outside, the source of the droning was obvious; Felicity was morphing from an agile aircraft to a well fortified base of operations. Its fuselage parted in several places, allowing large and small plasma based gun turrets to fold out, providing complete offensive coverage of the orange and black craft. The larger set of guns fired big orbs of explosive energy while the smaller ones were of a less damaging, beam type weapon. In addition to the guns, four metal pylons extended by mechanical arms were each positioned 15 feet away from the ship. The barrier in between the posts was invisible except for the phantom of blue current rippling across the Repellant Field.

Kane; or rather-the metal giant that had Kane riding inside- was at a newly exposed terminal at the side of the ship, its flattened screen casting a barely noticeable cyan glow on the helmet's own. From his diagnosis, the ship's security systems and scanners were working in tandem to secure the landing area.

"Um, that would be a great idea, actually." Yukari agreed with Damian, and with that, she and Rebin headed away from the conflict. Staying in this area was a death sentence, and thye didn't know when the machines would be coming back...THey needed to get to safety...

Damian began to run away from the fighting, hoping the others were following. Damian was hoping he could find some sort of place for them to rest. He did not know the way back to the APC, but he hoped they could, perhaps, find somewhere to rest a bit. At worst, they would have to wander about in the dark, or perhaps climb a tree.... hopefully the latter, especially after seeing the nightmare that lruekd in the swamp....

The grim shape stalked the humans ever so cautiously. Just a bit more, and he could strike....

A massive shape stood atop a cliff, far off from Kane and Jacob. The creature studied them, barely beign able to make them out, but still not welcoming them into his domain. A loud roar was soon emitted from its maw, the haunting sound hangign across the sandy land, before the creature glided down from its roost...

After a bit more running, Rebin was exhausted. he collapsed onto the ground, the group now aways from the rampaging metal muncher. As he lay there catching his breath, Yukari came up beside him and reached into the backpack once more. she searched through it abit, before she pulled out a small, rectangular device, one with a screen on it that had a dot that was flashing. "Okay, so you remembered to pack the APC tracker... thank you, Rebin, for at least remembering that. Now we won't have to sleep out here in the swamp... though this still doesn't forgive you for forgetting about the plasma gun." Yukari thanked him, her tone cold, yet with a hint of relief...

Damian sighed in a somewhat annoyed manner. Rebin had all these thigns on him, but never thought of mentioning them? The man soon turned to Yukari.

"You lead the way to the APC."

The big burly man soon turned to Rebin and extended a hand to help. "GEt up. It'll be gettign dark soon, and we don't want to get caught up with any other inhabitants...."

Crom was closing in on the group, his beady red eyes locked firmyl on the people. Only a little bit farther, and he'd strike...

Yukari, having both the plasma gun and the tracker on her, pointed off in a direction. "The APC is over there. We better get moving." She suggested as she led the way as Rebin took Damian's hand and got up and followed Yukari. Nightfall was coming in, and they wanted to be in the safe confines of the APC by the time it became dark...

Still following them up high in the branches, the unseen figure was trailing them... but also keeping an eye on Crom as well... nothing else was to interfere, and it would see to that...

Damian kept his Grenade launcher handy, the massive weapon held tightly in his hands. He wasn't about to let anyone get killed.... not while he coudl still breathe. Damian trailed behind Yukari and Rebin, surveying the trees. He felt.... uneasy. He couldn't explain why, but he jsut did. Somethnig was wrong.... he could feel it in the air. Almost like something was watching them.....

Suddenly, The shadowy figure appeared near the other one, almosy as if he had teleported in the second Elly looekd away. The piercing red gaze of the shadow monster locked firmly on the opposing creature, a low hiss eminating from its invisible face....
