Isn't Eternia the setting in Heman?

And before we can do that, HF, we need to pick a few good ones. If we allow for write-ins then we'd have one giant mess of everyone's own suggestions.

I like the names, HF. best was Alameda. only problem is that I think Texas when I see those names. not a coastal city like Miami :P

bit of an explanation for Los Diamantes: Spanish settlers come to the place and drop anchor there and settle, noting the pure white beach. some Spaniard comes along and takes a handful of it and goes 'it looks like diamonds'. inspired, the name spreads in the community: Los Diamantes; The City of Diamonds.

TT: True.

KP: rofl.

Found one last one that might be the most fitting. Olathe, meaning "beautiful".

Of my suggestions though, Olathe, Alameda, and Coahoma are the ones that stick out to me. That's just me though. XP

Meanwhile, profile template suggestion:

Super Hero:
Identity:
Age:
Height:
Length(if applicable):
Appearance:
Super Hero Appearance:
Personality:
Powers:
Weakness:
Alliance(Good, Evil, Neutral, Anti Hero):
Allies (Optional):
Enemies (Optional):
History:

Basically the exact template used by the old SHRPG, but with added history section for those wanting backstory, and personality that strangely got left out last time.

Ahhh, the template! What good is an RPG without ze Template? I always did like the standard template for SHRPG, and this one also does well...

How about Purpureus City? It means "Brilliant city" (a reference to it's natural beauty).

Wait wait wait wait... wait...

There's a reboot of SHRPG in the works? And no one told me? >_> People should keep me in the loop a bit more often. Guess I missed the whole back-story party. D:

Simply put, TTR, I proposed a reboot of SHRPG, I gave the thing over to the Admins, and now we're going over a good city name, with the Template and rules all laid down in stone...

Just because you made the other ones doesn't mean you own 'em bro. If you wanted to stay in the loop, you should've checked the site more often.

I visited the site... give or take every half year. :P S'pose that's what I get for being dormant for so long.

On topic hows Radiant City for a name? It sounds familiar on second thought, but a Google search didn't yield much besides a Canadian film.

To go on a tangent from what KP said earlier,
No, I fully oppose the idea of setting up a dedicated anti mutant team.
A number of reasons:

A) super heroes/villains are so diverse that no organisation could set up equipment specifically to deal with them, the best they could to do is train in special weapons and tactics (Special Weapons And Tactics, SWAT)

B) Any player controlled 'official' group would dominate the RPG, they'd stifle the whole thing.

C) If multiple people are controlling them, they wont seem consistent. With one player they'd be comic relief idiots while under another's control they'd be smooth ice cold operators.

I like Radiant City and Los Diamantes, the rest sound like exotic STDs or elven towns from Lord of the Rings

Doc: Specialized anti hero/villain forces have been used quite often in comic books. (Lets not forget the Hulk-busters of marvel lore) But I s'pose the point was the inconsistencies of there portrayal from person to person. It really depends though, if super hero's are just starting to show up then the law enforcement ect probably wouldn't be prepared, if they've been around for years I'm sure they would have a specialized all purpose force for your general super hero problem.

IMO, it should start with conventional law enforcement, designed to stop criminals.
My thinking is that heroes pop up fighting criminals, then super villains, the law enforcement ages don't get a chance to evolve. Super heroes flying around should be a "WOW" thing, not a "oh look another mutant"
They should be a fairly new phenomenon.

I know marvel have set a standard for hulk busters and what not, but I feel it wouldn't fit with an RPG. Firstly because of the inconsistencies you mentioned but also because of the resources available to them. It would be too easy for the player controlling them to to storng arm the RPG. A properly organised and equipped group designed to combat heroes like them would be unstoppable, in a competitive multi player RPG, nobody else would stand a chance. In comics and stuff they work, because they are a controlled plot element.

In that case something would definitely need to trigger the super heroes' existence. They could just be a rare phenomenon but if everyone is to go over the story of how they became a super hero (something I think SHOULD happen.) then they would all really become super powered around the same time, which is an odd coincidence. One I don't think I quite ironed out myself in the original SHRPG, but I'd like to see it addressed this time around.

Putting a reason why the mutants are around is way too freedom-constricting. It should be up to the players. And who says they all showed up at the same time? People could say the hero or whatever in question has been around for ages but never revealed themselves until now, due to the sudden increase in villainry or what have you.

...wasn't it already established that mutants have always been around? If not, then people are most definitely going to be wondering if these mutants pose a treat to them. Realisticly, if a new variable is brought into someone's life, one must see if said variable posses a threat to them in some way. If I were a citizen of the city, and mutants suddenly showed up, I'd be wondering if they posed a threat to normal people in the city, and would press fo action to ensure that doesn't happen... Plus, scientists would be flocking in from all over th eplace to study these new mutants, to cllect their blood, study tissues, and, if given the chance, dissect them FOR SCIENCE!

If, on the other hand, mutants have always been around, then the reaction would more appropriate. Not something to fear, unless history has taught people otherwise, but something to appreciate, and to marvel at... plus, no dissecting would be needed..
