Jacob flipped as he flew back, audio neutraliser augmentations nullifying the effect of the roar on him, blown back only by the sheer force of the beast's breath, which seemed to defy the very laws of science. landing on his feet, he quickly leapt to the side as the beast kicked up sand and debris at him, before bolting forward, another grenade streaking through the cloud and hitting the beast in the face, Jacob's vision unhindered by the dust cloud kicked up between him and his foe as he moved to resume his onslaught on the quadrupedal wyvern...

The shadowy shape could be seen moving around in the darkness of the trees, a glimpse of blank red eyes occasionally visible. Damin kept grenade launcher readied, urging Yukari and Rebin to keep moving. Whatever this creature was, it would be better to escape than to fighti t... clearly, it knew how to use the shadows to its advantage....

The grenade stunned the tigrex, causign the massive wyvern the stumble sideways from the explosion, the massive, quadruped dragon shook its massive head, attempting to regain its train of thought, buying Jacob precious time to attack it...

The blow came from above. In the dust cloud, Jacob had leapt hard, shooting above the Tigrex's field of vision, gone by the time the blast had blown away the dust cloud, landing on the wyvern's head with a skull-numbing punch, the force of it sufficient to drive the beast's head into the ground as he backflipped out of reach...

Neither Rebin or Yukari were going to argue with Damian's urges, especially now that they were so close to the clearing.. and Yukari herself had seen the shadowy being moving along. Just a little firther... they were almost there...

The tigrex growled in pain and annoyance, the massive quadruped beast soon risign to his feet, cleaning himself off of dust and sand and debris. Grond hissed, and soon turned to jacob, letting out a brief roar before he barrled towards Jacob like a freight train, intent on crushing the man flat beneath his feet...

Suddenly, the shadowy shape shot in front of the trio, appearing amongst a shadowy patch under a gnarled old tree. Tendrils could be seen writhnig behidn the nightmarish creature, as it levelled its head with the gorup.

"Don't look him in the eyes...!" Damian warned in a low tone as he glanced downward...

Kane followed the fight as well as he could, his visual feed momentarily clouded by red sand blowing in the breeze, contrasted by a sky turning bright gold and orange as this world's star prepared to disappear beyond the dunes and mesas behind him. His heavy armor trudged through the red desert, keeping pace with the four legged giant as it charged several yards away. It was an amazing sight to see-both the creature and Jacob fighting it head on...

Jacob charged forward right at the beast, diving as they nearly collided, rolling under the massive beast and kicking upwards into its ribs, the sheer force of the blow easily enough to wind it, and likely throw off its charge completely, the man rolling out from under the animal as he kicked off from the ground, once more backflipping out of reach of the beast...

Grim noticed a commotion and the sound of fighting. He used his vision to spot what appeared to be a Human fighting the local Tigrex He then used some more of his power to speed run to near where the fight was taking place in the shade of a lone dead tree. He was not going to interfere in the fight, he had used up enough power running at a high speed. His reason for watching at a safe distance was very much the same as a vulture circling dying animals. He was sure that one of the combatants would die. The Tigrex would be the prefered choice as the blood of predatory animals had more power and a better taste and due to the Tigrex being the Apex predator around here its blood would be a delicacy. It would also be a rare opportunity as even when using his abilitys to there best a Tigrex was a fight with only a ten percent success rate. The human losing would be a waste as the tigrex is unlikly to leave much behind, coupled with the weak taste to humans it was the worst out come.Grim watched on with child like glee to see the outcome of a fight he could not predict. And the potential of a free meal.

The beast let out a long cough of pain, stumbling forward as it slid to a stop, panting deeply from the sharp blow to its stomach. The Tigrex glaces back at Jacob, eyes narrowing as he landed smoothly on his feet, before he swiftly turned around, and launched himself forward, spinning in a 360 degree motion in the hopes of smashing his tail into Jacob...

Jacob leapt as the beast lunged, but, for the first time in the fight, it wasn't enough, the beast's flailing tail swinging just high enough to clip his legs as he cleared the beast, causing him to tumble and land roughly in a sprawling crouch, one arm out to the side as a blue flash was revealed near his wrist for a split second, before disappearing, the air around and a few feet away from his arm beginning to distort and warble, as though in contact with an extremely hot surface. "Persistent little *******, aren't you?" muttered the man as his eyes narrowed, the dirt beneath his other hand suddenly flaring up a bright yellow-white tinge as a second brief flash appeared at the end of the limb, Jacob straightening as he eyed the beast; He had deployed the Monoblades...

Grond tilted his head, somewhat confused by the bright flashes barely visible for a secodn at most. The tigrex tilted his head, somewhat confused, but soon overcame his confusion, lunging forward to deliver a vicious bite, hoping to crush Jacob in his massive maw....

Jacob hopped back as the beast lunged, the bite coming short as he spun, landing a vicious roundhouse kick against the beast's face, the sheer force of the blow knocking its head to the side, Jacob following it up with a swing of one of his blades, cleaving one of the beast's ear-horns clean off, the wound instantly cauterised by the energy blade, Jacob's other hand hitting it against the neck powerfully, the blade deactivated on impact, only causing a scalding sensation, singing scales and cutting the blood flow through one of the jugular veins for a brief moment, though the swing would have undoubtedly caused the beast to choke and gasp when aimed at such a vital area, allowing Jacob to kick back and put space between himself and the animal...

The blood flow was cauterised by Jacob's blade, Grond realizing he had just had a horn cut clean off. The Tigrex panted deeply, looking deep into Jacob's eyes, as if trying to make sense of what had happened, despite its pain. Nevertheless, despite the sharp pain and its deep panting breath, the Tigrex decided that Jacob was not worth the effort to pursue. Snarling, the Tigrex shot upwards with a sudden, super-powered leap, before it hastily and somewhat clumsily beat its wings, and flew off to fidn easier quarry...

Jacob shook his head as the beast retreated, disappointed. The ultimate challenge yet evaded him. Walking over to the severed horn lying on the ground, he picked it up, hefting it in one hand and tossing it upwards casually, as one would a tennis or baseball. Turning back, he walked casually towards Kane, flipping the horn in hand and tossing it upwards several times as he approached. "Just like old times" said the Mercenary with a chuckle as he handed the horn to his comrade...

"Someone I used to know always said 'Sometimes, the best way to handle a problem is to throw yourself onto its face and fight your damnedest.' I never thought I'd get to see their advice...demonstrated so well" Kane replied, taking the horn in armored hands that dwarfed the horn fragment. A slot appeared in the NT-SB armor, Kane storing the sample of the great beast within it.

"You have no idea how well it works" said Jacob with a chuckle. Of course. He WOULD be given advice like that, considering who his father was...

"You say that like you've heard it before too" Kane said with a slightly distorted chuckle. "Anyway, I've just recorded empirical evidence of it in practice. Color me convinced!"

Jacob simply chuckled as he shook his head. "You haven't seen anything yet. That was just the warm-up" said the Mercenary as he walked to the cliff face, glancing up at where Felicity awaited. He could ascend with little trouble. But could Kane?

Grim walk over to where the fight had recently ended nose high in the air, Ignoring the humans he walked over to near where the horn had dropped." No blood, hm energy radiation. I have never seen weapons like these."Grim decided to let his curiosity get the better of him.He had to know where these strange weapons came from.He took a swig from a flask of wolf blood in his pocket, Not as strong he would like but better than human blood. It would give him enough self control to talk with these humans without attacking. He walked with confidence towards them.

"Heading back already?" Kane asked, mocking disappointment. "But that was only the warm up!" he implored when another display appeared on his feed, a direct link from the craft 50 feet up. Another bio-signature had been detected and, like the Tigrex, it was completely alien. Looking in the direction of the hit with magnified vision however, struck Kane a vicious blow. "...there are...'people' here Mr. Spencer..." he said, the joking tone in his voice vanished.
