The servbant clears his throat and says, "All I know is that he used to be a dragon worshipped around here as a chaos god before somethnig happened to him. The Ra'zac never told exactly WHAT happened ot him, but he changed. He can apparently change shapes, because I never saw his dragon form, only this weird whispy shadow thing that draco talked to."

"Sooo...a chaos God that looks like a dragon and has an army of elf-hating lunatics at his back? Now THAT is juuust ridiculous enough to be plausible for me. I wonder if the Regent will believe it though" said Andruil thoughtfully. "Vix...is there a chance you have a library nearby with information on ancient Asterian deities? I think we should start looking into this 'Zazikel' and find out what it's drives are" he inquired...

Ikargu and Saurgu both sat and didn't seem to say a think, wondering if Sarah had anything to speak of at the moment.

The ships soon sail out of the fog, the crew of each one finally seeing everything that was happening around them at that moment...

Vix paused in trying to coax the cat further into the room with gentle petting, looking up. "There is a library in the village," she said. "But it's small. I dunno if you'd find anything there."

"Pity....You know, what i want to know is, since Draxons generally pledge loyalty to that god of theirs....Greshlynk, i think they called it....so if that's who the Prince worships, why's he even dealing with Zazikel? doesn't that qualify as uh...heresy?...or something along those lines?" said Andruil thoughtfully...

'Who knows. Personally, I think his head is stuck so far up his arse he can see the inside of his own throat. But, that's just my opinion.' Arsenic stretched, cracking his neck. 'I think, however, it's still worth checking the library. You never know what you'll find before you start looking.'

The cat moved further in almost eagerly, acting in the promise of food now that it was inside. Indirectly, however, the cat took interest in the others' words...they were discussing Zazikel, and the servant it had seen leaving the palace was here as well...

"Likely a man from a nearby village, abducted when the Lizardmen raided it," Tetto'eko hissed back. "He's just a sacrifice, nothing more. Not particularly special..."

The servant chimes in again. "The people of Draxon do not know of Zazikel yet. All they know of is that thing's minions, the beetle monsters. And no, it does not, since it is perfectly legal to be of multiple religions in Draxon. The people themselves, however, may not take a liking to you if you openly practice anything that is not related to Greshlynk, and Draco is not known for his kindness towards different individuals......"

Draco grows tired and enters his resting chambers. He stetched before he retires for the day...

Zazikel, still in his shadow form, had overheard Draco's commands to the servant, and had suspiciously followed the man, hiding, literally, in his shadow. He was interested in seeing where the Elven assassin had run off too, but was surprised. This... peasant dared betray Draco and risk his own exposure? Unacceptable. This servant would have to be dealt with as soon as possible. For now, however, Zazikel decided it was best to just hide and wait. He would have revenge soon enough...

Draco rested peacefully in his dreams, picturing the conquest of all of Aster, having the world literally under his boot, when suddenly..... his dream turned sour. A vocie began to ring in his dream.

DRACO..... DRACO.....

In his dream, he turns to find the voice. However, all he can see now is blackness, as if he had been swallwoed up by the void.

WHAT HAVE YOU DONE, DRACO? BETRAYING YOUR KIN..... SIGNING YOUR SOUL INTO THE HANDS OF THIS... ABOMINATION.... WHY, DRACO? WHY HAVE YOU TURNED AWAY FROM ME?

"No!" the new king says in the dream. "I'm doing this for you, Greshlynk! I thought that destroying those elves was what you wanted! I thought you wanted all to see your majesty!"

WHY DO YOU LIE TO YOURSELF, DRACO? YOU KNOW AS WELL AS I THAT YOU HAVE TURNED AWAY FROM ME. I WILL HAVE MERCY UPON YOU IN YOUR LIFE, BUT DO NOT EXPECT KINDNESS WHEN YOU DIE....

Draco's voice becomes angry.

"I will never die! I shall become equal to you, Greshlynk! I will become immortal!"

PLEASE, DRACO. TURN AWAY FROM THE DARKNESS. COME BACK.... COME BACK.... COME.... BACK...

Draco awakens with a scream before realizing it was all just a dream....

As the cat approached the scene, it stopped abruptly, its eyes locked on the servant. Sensing what it had sensed before, the feline arched its back in a hiss, indiscriminately trying to tell the others of the danger...

The servant notices the cat's sudden aggression.

After watching the moon rise into the dark clear sky, Desrium lifted his feet back onto the dock and stood up. He turned away from the water that glistened under the silver light and started walking down the the small bridge back towards the village. "I should find a place to spend the night" He thought as he went on his way. Some place where the chance of someone stumbling across him was remote. Like a cluttered alleyway perhaps.

Andruil was about to respond to Arsenic's comment when he saw the cat flare up at the servant. the man narrowed his eyes. he had sensed something was off here. something was very, very wrong about this. what it was exactly, he didn't know. but it wasn't here before the servant and cat arrived.....though it was more surrounding the former...something which brought up another possibility. could this man have been sent to infiltrate their ranks? what if Arsenic was wrong? what if...what if the trouble was only linked to him, and not truly him. he hoped Arsenic was truly as psychic as he seemed. looking at the blade at his side, the elven writing on the hilt was glowing dimly, barely visible, unseen to those not searching for it. he gave the assassin a swift, concerned glance...

Tehenhauin and the rest of the red-crested Skinks began to chant in shrill, chittering voices, and Tehenhauin raised his dagger as the chanting reached its climax. The man below him shrunk back, holding his arms above his face. "No, please--" With a brutal downward thrust, Tehenhauin rammed the knife into the man's chest all the way up to the hilt, then ripped it up and outwards in a vicious tearing motion. Blood spurted into the air, and the Skinks cheered and squawked with excitement as blood flowed across the forest floor, lapping at the base of the statue of Sotek...

Septimus hissed lowly. "Barbaric...taking victims from other villages...do they not have enough criminals in their ranks to sacrifice them instead?"

Vix looked from the cat to the servant, and her green eyes narrowed slightly. Animals had senses far keener than humans and elves...and they were often far more perceptive. Just what did the cat sense?

Arsenic returned the look Andruil gave him through piercing silver eyes, then looked at the servant, reaching out with his mind again. Lightly, so as not to be felt, he began probing the very edges of the man's consciousness, searching out just his emotions this time. He didn't think he'd missed much the first time around, but it was probably better to check again...
