Desrium stepped under the wooden arch that was the city's entry point. A brown stone paved path ran down from it, branching out into the city. He could see market stands set up along the path, selling foods, beverages and merchandise to the people who would stop at them. Desrium stepped to the side of the wide path, letting a strange creature by. It was a dark gray, rhino like creature. Its muscular build had some sort of white fur growing on its back and its neck had a frill, many short stumpy horns growing out of the edge. Its head was viper like, a sleak V shape with smooth scales. Its feet sported iguana like claws, as did its tail. There was a seat situated just before the shoulder blades via black straps that tied around the creature's midsection, with someone riding it, a woman with short black hair. She wore a green sleeveless shirt, with a tan leather tunic underneath covering her caramel colored skin, black pants held up by a white belt with a golden buckle and heavy looking green boots. She patted the creature's shoulder, which caused it to stop at the armored figure's side and the rider swung herself off it, dropping down onto the path. She turned to face Desrium and said "Welcome stranger... you dont look like anything around these parts..." Desrium fought the urge to step back from her. "More to run in fear. I should have expected this and stayed away" Desrium thought bitterly. "Thats one unique set of armor you got on you" She continued to say as she put her hand to her chin, inspecting the plates that covered Desrium's body. Desrium was dumbfounded, though it didnt show. His crimson eyes simply stayed locked in the glare despite what ever emotion he was feeling. "You...do not fear me?" Desrium asked. The woman simply stared at him for a few moments before finally saying "Amazing! The mouth peice moves when you talk! Its like its actually your mouth- save for the fact it doesnt have lips and stays comepletely ridgid- that is. That suit of yours must've taken a lot of skill to put together."
Desrium was left speechless for a few moments. "Whats this about fearing you?" The woman asked, breaking the silence that had fallen between them. "...Past experiances" Desrium replied, staying away from the specifics. "I found that my...pressence is upsetting to your kind." The woman raised an eyebrow. "What does he mean by...kind?" She asked herself. She thought this figure was simply a knight of sorts, come to the city in the plains. But then she thought about his eyes...why were they red? She thought it was some elaborate illusion. After all, she had grown up in a place of industry and technology. Magic was all but a myth, stories travellers brought to the place, and the fleeting sights of he strange creatures living in the forest in the distance were written off as a fragment of one's imagination. The woman chuckled uncomfrotably and she backed up slightly. Her mount turned its head, its pupil a slim slit going horozontally across its yellow-green eyes. Desrium looked to the ground and let out a sigh, which sounded strange in his helmet. It made the woman a little more uncomfortable. "I should just leave..." He said as he began to turn around. "W-Wait..." The rider replied, stepping forward a little. "I didnt mean to...do that" This was no entity of malice. If he meant to do harm, he would have done it already. He only looked...strange. Desrium looked to her, eyes flaring up for a second. "Welcome to Gai'Lirak, the City of the Plains" She said with a polite nod of her head. "Allow me to show you around stranger. Whats your name?"
"Desrium" He replied, watching the woman hop back onto the creature and settle down on the seat. "My name's Vierna" She said, looking down. "So, what exactly are you? A knight or a traveller?" She asked with a tilt of her head. "...Traveller" Desrium answered. "Oooh, you must have a lot of stories to tell!" Vierna replied anxiously. "...Not as much as you'd think" Desrium said. "Wow, a modest traveller. Thats pretty rare" Vierna said as she patted the side of the creature, which then threw its upper body up and swung itself about to face where it came. It let out a low growl. before it started to walk back along the path, Desrium walking beside it, looking at the buildings and people that made up the settlement.
