"Coiled One? You mean a snake?" hissed Septimus as he eyed Tetto, glancing into the entrance through one eye...

"A very big one, yes," Tetto'eko chirped back. "Very rare, but very dangerous, though that should not surprise you by now. They are revered by my kind for many reasons." The Skink walked back down the steps as he spoke, leaving the Coiled One to its own devices. Disturbing the creature would have been most unwise...

"I see.....Could you give me examples?" he growled as he descended, feeling uncomfortable descending at this angle, though his time in the mountains had got him used to it. the steps were closely packed however, and weren't very comfortable for is feet to grip. deciding he wasn't in the mood to descend the rest of the way on foot, the Dragon leapt, spreading his wings and twisting in mid air, landing with a thump at the bottom of the steps, facing the Skink...

As Tetto'eko skittered down the steps, far more agile on the slope than his draconic friend, he stopped at the bottom in front of Septimus. "Well, you have already seen the Serpent God Sotek. That much should be obvious to you. However, in reality, the Lizardmen worship many of the reptiles in this jungle. Serpents are especially prized, and Coiled Ones are the greatest of all. Of course, they are inferior to the more monstrous beasts, such as Stegadons or Carnosaurs, but they still are reserved a special place in our religious ceremonies." Tetto'eko chuckled. "We have sacrificed many Ratmen to Coiled Ones before, near the end of the Skaven War."

"Convenient, considering what snakes generally eat" rumbled Septimus, amused at the idea...

"Indeed," Tetto'eko replied with a chuckle. "And Coiled Ones have quite the appetite." The Skink licked his scaly lips with a flick of his tongue. "Makes me hungry just thinking about it," he added, skittering past Septimus and down another side street. "Come, let me show you more of this place!"

Septimus grunted amusedly, following the skink, which, in his excitement, seemed to have become a hatchling in all but appearance after a few moments here...

Tetto'eko easily climbed over and past crumbling, overgrown structures, trying to find something that was still relatively intact. He passed a badly damaged ziggurat, a rubble-choked alley, and many other unique structures before finding a temple that was still standing. Tetto'eko shook his head in disappointment. "The Skaven were thorough in their destruction, at least partially." He waved a clawed hand at the temple, which reflected the sunlight just right to make it seem like it was glowing of its own power. "The Sun Temple of Chotec. Every Temple-City has one. It is used to invigorate our Saurus Warriors before a battle."

Septimus leapt onto and over the various overgrown and run down structures and rubble in pursuit of Tetto, keeping his wings at the ready in case something gave out under him, the Dragon finally halting by Tetto as he spoke of the temple. "How do they make it glow like that?" he inquired...

"They say Chotec himself once empowered it with his energy," Tetto'eko explained. "Of course, it is the duty of the Slann to make sure it stays in such a condition. I am not too surprised it still has a trace of its power left, though. Temple-Cities do not simply crumble into dust on their own. It takes direct intervention of foul creatures such as Demons or the techno-sorcery of the Skaven to do the damage you see around you. Why the Sun Temple is still intact, I cannot say..."

"Perhaps some of the Slann are still maintaining it?" suggested Septimus with a tilt of his head, his black, blue-cored eyes glancing between the skink and the temple...

Tetto'eko shook his head. "I doubt it. The Slann have long since abandoned this city to its fate after the Skaven were purged. Of course, who am I to guess the thoughts of a Slann Mage-Priest? Their minds are alien to ours." The Priest looked up at the Sun Temple, a small spot of light in the otherwise gloomy-looking Temple-City. "Or perhaps it is just good fortune. A sign, maybe?"

"Perhaps we should step inside and find out?" growled the Dragon with a smirk...

"Let's see..." Tetto'eko chirped, cautiously approaching the temple. As he stepped onto the staircase leading to the top, he grinned. "Ah, yes! I can feel it working!" he scampered up the steps, light on his feet, approaching the doorway, then turned to face Septimus. "Go ahead, try it! It certainly won't hurt!"

Ikargu moved around somewhat uncomfortably, but didn't move much so Sarah would stay asleep, the ice dragon himself still wide awake.

The soldier and his horse soon reach the main gates of the confederate kingdom, light emitting from lanterns hanging off of poles drove deep into the walls of the place, as he charged inside to warn the king of this discovery. His horse snorted as she raced down a long dirt road, the warrior himself being greeted by the night patrols...

Septimus took a careful step forward, wary of the place. after the lethality of everything else in this place, he wasn't comfortable walking onto something that could be just as lethal...

The unicorns were still in their same spot. Revion was reluctant to move from it, while Serenity insisted that they could not simply stay there. However, the creatures made somewhat of a home and resting place from it. After all, the equines did have food, water, and a place to rest. So far, the only creatures that would disturb them was an occasional squirrel or rabbit that came scampering along the ground.

Serenity was growing impatient, little by little, while Revion (in her opinion) wasted his time, staying at the same location. "Don't you ever get tired," she finally said to him, her patience with him running thin. "I thought our plan was to keep traveling, not stay glued to the same spot."

Revion snorted at her response. "Think of it as a slight change of plans, Serenity. After all, we are safe here, so far." He walked toward the stream and took a drink from it, relishing in the freshness of the water.

"Yes, so far," the filly muttered. "You know, by doing this, you are acting like the other unicorns...remember, the ones who were reluctant to move from the valley?" Inside, she was smirking. She knew that would get him going, or at least hoped it would.

"What? No I...at least we traveled farther than them!" He turned his head to glared at Serenity and swished his tail. "I am different from them!"

Serenity whinnied a laugh. "Yeah, keep telling yourself that."

Near where the two unicorns were currently at, a couple of clicking noises could be heard, lasting for some time as a small, poisonous lizard with two horns above it's eyes appeared out from a bush, hissing as it soon sped off. A low growl came soon afterwards, a wolf-like being hidden somewhat deeper in the vegitation to conceal itself as it stalked it's current prey...

Serenity nearly jumped and trotted behind Revion when she heard the clicking noises. Revion only snorted, and stood in his position, waiting to see what would come out. When he saw that it was just a lizard, he rolled his eyes and laughed. "There you go again, being so flighty! You have to learn to stand your ground, Serenity."

"Oh, you think everything is a joke, Revion!" She pinned her ears back, and flicked her tail angrily. She stomped away from the stallion to get a drink from the stream. Before she dipped her mouth in the water, she muttered, "Sometimes life isn't a big joke...there are dangers."

"What did you say? I couldn't quite catch it." He made his way toward the younger unicorn and watched her as she drank her fill. He thought he heard a growl, but paid no attention to it.

The wolf-like being slowly prowled through the foilage, trying it's hardest not to make any mistakes as it stalked it's prey. The small lizard let out a hiss just before it caught a small bug and began eating it from a tree, it's scaly horns seeming to glow at that moment...
