"Yeah, let's hope..." Redtooth muttered.

Howler soon returned, Stoneclaw staring boredly at him as the green Raptor stood triumphantly in front of him, puffing his chest out and grinning behind the dead Compy. "See?" he said, dropping the little dinosaur on the ground. "I told you I--" "You fell on it, didn't you?" Stoneclaw hissed flatly, staring at the malformed body. Howler paused, then replied, "Uh, no..." "I'll take that as a yes," Stoneclaw growled. "Just eat your d*mn meal already..." Howler glowered, but quickly dug into his meal, suddenly remembering his hunger...

Osiris walked in silence, he was thinking of the day that the Spinosaurs had attacked the Tyrannosaur family. He had been among those assigned to attack and unfortunately had to help in slaughtering the family. It filled him with sadness, Osiris unlike many of the Spinosaurs did not feel contempt for the Tyrannosaur's. "Does it ever bother you Redtooth, what we did to the Tyrannosaur's?" he hissed.

"I don't like to think about it," Redtooth replied, saying nothing more, again not wanting to voice his opinion...

The remains of the edmontosaur was soon reduced to bone and chunks of meat on the ribs and legs, which the remaining raptors of the pack accepted and moved in to eat the rest of the kill. Valu, the omega, was among the few left that had yet to get their turn, until then, to eat. Lightning and Sabre both still knew they'd have to hunt smaller prey to bring back to the sentries and other younglings that remained at the large cave they called home, which had a river nearby and holes in the top of it to allow light to get inside. It was a perfect home to the creatures, and the entrance allowed nothing larger than an average raptor on the island like themselves through...

The massive Deinosuchus, sensing that he was very close, decided to announce his arrival to the entire Spinosaur community in the area. He knew that under normal curcomstances, doing such a thing would be suicide, and incredibly stupid. However, Sawtooth needed to vent out his boiling blood against something, and the only way to do that was to attract a fight to him. The gigantic Deinosuchus let out an ear-splitting bellow from the depths of his mouth, a sound that blasted across most of the island. It was a bellow of defiance, a sound to challenge the King of Isla Sorna himself to a fight...

Let it be known that crocodilians can't roar.

Osiris heard a roar coming from the center of the territory and it wasn't that of a spinosaur. "What the hell was that?" he asked.

Redtooth was already moving in the direction of the roar. "I don't know, but we had better find out!" he hissed, more or less just looking for an excuse to avoid the conversation...

Osiris moved with Redtooth towards the source of the roar, "It sounded like something was challenging Thrasher" he hissed. "Dumb ******* won't stand a chance against Thrasher" he hissed.

the air was stale here, and warm, making breathing somewhat difficult. though the darkness cloaked it, the size of the rooms behind many of the doors was considerable, and several of the doors on the left side of the corridor, the side on the inside of the facility, were open, meaning that there was a lot of space, and not enough ventilation to satisfy it, the pitch black rooms making it difficult to realise just how large the rooms were. paint peeled off the ceiling and walls in sheets, in some cases only held in place by the vines and overgrowth that plagued the ageing building. a metallic clink could be heard repeating itself rhythmically, though the source seemed obscure because of the acoustic nature of the deceivingly spacious room. halfway down the corridor, framed by a large streaking bloodstain against the wall, sat another human skeleton, slumped on the floor and against the wall, rotting clothing seeming to have been disguised in camouflage at one point before the rotting corpse's bodily fluids destroyed it. it's head lay forward against it's chest, a hand still held tightly around a circular object on it's waist, it's ribcage slashed diagonally, some of the lower ribs having actually been broken, claw-marks streaking along it's neck. a centipede crawled out of the corpse's mouth, snaking it's way down it's chest and onto the floor, heading into one of the dark rooms connected to the corridor...

a series of hisses came from the Spinosaurs closest to the river, irritated by the Deinosuchus' racket. Thrasher was nowhere to be seen however, having disappeared from his location earlier, most likely to get a meal, though none of the Spinosaurs could really tell where he had gone...

Osiris continued to hurry towards the noise, he wanted to know who would be stupid enough to challenge Thrasher. "When will they learn" he thought to himself.

Sawtooth snarled at the Spinosaurs, before moving toward their location. He could smell a fight coming up, and he wasn't one to back down from a fight, either... Especially if he could rid this island of the pesky breed of fish eaters that competed with him for food...

The Tarbosaurus has finally caught up with the edmontosaurus herd. The smell of their bodies and the sheer number of them made Ba'al lose control of himself. Hunger had usurped reason for now and all he could of was to feed. With a quick burst of speed the massive titan bursts forth from the jungle and lets out a mighty roar, hoping to scatter the herd so he can pick off a weak one.....

The rest of the pack soon finished the remains of the kill, save for an occasional chunk or two of meat on some bone which compies would most likely take afterwards. The pack soon heads back to the hunting trail to try and find something small and easy to catch for the others in the group that remained at their territory, which was around the cave, part of it on the other side of the river they lived near.

One of Eradicus' eyes suddenly opened up, the other soon following as the carchar yawned, before getting up with difficulty in the sand. The massive predator growled to himself, "so, something decided to awake me in the middle of my slumber?" before actually thinking to himself, "nothing on this island knows I don't appreciate being awoken in the middle of my sleep..."

Aircrest hastened his pace as he moved through the dark, the light streaming into the corridor being a beacon for him. He simply stepped over the skeleton as he went, wanting to leave the facillity. Perhaps it would be best to leave the jungle to its work, to consume the building and remove all traces of it. Its secrets and mysteries would be covetted by the shadows and concealed by the thick overgrowth that had already started to claim the corridor...

A heavy snap broke the silence of the jungle, Diablo stood, with a branch hanging in his mouth, staring blankly towards the canopy. He had lunged at a preening bird, sitting on the branch now between his jaws, which had promptly flown high into the tree tops. He dropped the branch, scraping his tongue between his teeth in an attempt to get rid of the taste of bark and sap. He looked up frustrated at the bird, still sitting in the tree and staring, as if silently mocking him. The rugops bashed the top of his head into the tree, a shock wave of force climbed the trunk shaking the branches lightly at the top. Diablo snarled as he turned around the tree, walking down a brief slope towards a stream. He lowered his body, resting his weight on his haunches as he lapped up cool, refreshing water. He decided to rest by the water, the soft sound of the current pushing the liquid over the pebbled river bed calming him. Slowly, he nodded off to sleep.

I wonder, Steeltalon thought, would it be so difficult to learn to fish? I've got a useable source of prey here - if I don't drown myself trying to catch it! She'd been watching fairly large fish dart about in the gentle current, just out of her reach. Maybe I should learn to swim too...Tigerstripe said he'd teach me, but...never got the chance. She repressed a wince as her heart gave a squeeze. Thinking of it was still painful, even after years had passed.

Darkness stepped out of the cave and into the light, finding it to be...jungle. "Well that's...specific." the dark raptor growled under his breath, scratching his head with a claw. He didn't see anything that stood out in the area, besides the smell of water nearby, which wasn't all that uncommon anyway. Deciding to try and find something he recognized, Darkness trotted off into the brush, avoiding the water in fear of what would be attracted there, after his last close call...

as Aircrest approached one of the open doorways of a dark office, a low chuckle echoed from within, a Compy skittering out fearfully, barely poking it's head out before a spurt of blood punctuated it's demise, a terrified screech coming from it as it was pulled back into the shadows...

as Crusher continued along the stream he caught sight of the sleeping form of another dinosaur. the angle he was at made identification difficult, but that didn't matter. he began to make a semi-circle around it to figure out what it was, the wind having blown towards his left, not taking his scent to it, nor giving him a scent to identify...

SNAP.

Crusher froze, lifting his foot off the source of the sound with a cringe, eyeing the twig underfoot irritably, his eyes shifting to the sleeping predator nearby...

the blow struck like lightning. as the Deinosuchus crawled towards the Spinosaurs on shore, it failed to pay attention to the massive one swimming towards him from behind, Thrasher bursting from the river in a heavy run, speeding up as his footing improved, lunging for the Croc, the sheer force of the blow allowing Thrasher to drive the croc into the ground, a fut on it's back holding it down, pinned under his weight as his claws dug deeply into it's flank, anchoring himself in position to keep the Croc from moving out of his grip, as Thrasher snarled irritably, water spilling in sheets off his heavily armoured form...

Aircrest tooked after the sudden occurance, staring at the splatter of blood through narrowed eyes, a guttral snarl escaping him, which transitioned into a chilling hiss, using his surroundings to amplify the noise. Clearly his aggressor was toying with him now. Perhaps thats why the Deinonychus was killed, it was the object of the creature's tormenting before he arrived. Maybe the sudden act of defiance would take the shadow lurker by suprise and buy him enough time to make a break for the outside...or just incur its wrath. Either way it was a gamble...
