Toklo and Blue Eyes watched as the massive giga stepped out of the trees. They soon regained their composure. They both bellowed, trying to intimidate the large theropod, but it was realized quickly that it would be of any use. So doing what any cornered animal would do, they attacked. Blue charged, her horns lowered as she roared loudly, threatening the carnivore with injury. Toklo charged behind Blue, a bit slower with a hardly noticeable as he ran at the predatory giant, his mace like tail swinging viciously.

The Giganotosaur's eyes narrowed as the horned predator charged, a snarl coming from the massive beast as he shifted into a fighting position that was more reliable, feet wide and body low, timing his swing to hit the Carnotaurus's flank, knocking it away and off balance, a bitter snarl escaping him as its horn left a bloody slash across his flank. Not wanting to waste any more time, he immediately went for the Sauropod, its charge putting its long neck within easy reach of the sauropod-hunter, blade-like fangs glistening as he lunged, poised to bite down on the herbivore's vulnerable throat. Not too far away, the Triceratops was closing in, head low and horns forward...

An old battle scarred veteran raised his crested skull to the sounds of giants in the midst of a battle. A smiles equivalent of a beak as he began to pick up his pace and soon was at a gallop. The thought of using his bloodstained horn again pleased the old pachyrhinosaurus as he headed toward the battle.

A weak howl of pain escaped the carnotaur as she fell to the ground with a thud that shook the earth faintly. Blue watched helplessly, struggling to get up on her feet with a large amount of effort due to her miniscule arms, as Toklo ran toward the giga's wide open jaws.

Rook snarled as he closed in, an angry bellow coming from Erebus as he charged at the Giganotosaur, who in turn broke off his attack, changing direction at the last minute to avoid being skewered by the furious Trike, evading what was essentially a meal running right for his jaws. The Trike slowed once the Giga managed to put the Shunosaurus between them, an angry grunt coming from the horned herbivore.

Rook meanwhile, was confused. This was unheard of. The Triceratops intervening was a given. It was quite large and had a history of active aggression towards predators. What he hadn't counted on was the second ceratopsian, a battle-hardened Pachyrhinosaurus, to go out of its way to help the seemingly suicidal sauropod, let alone for the Carnotaurus to pitch in as well. It left the large predator quite bewildered, and, at least at the moment, in a risky position. With three potential threats, he was vulnerable to being outmanoeuvred, and though one of the threats was fairly negligable due to size, the other two were still very much a threat despite being smaller than he was. An angry, rattling snarl escaped the old male, fangs bared and expression creased in a vicious, angered snarl as he slowly began to manoeuvre himself so that all his foes were ahead of him.

Erebus didn't flinch, not caring if he was trying to escape. The two were old foes, and both knew the other's mannerisms well. Proud and powerful though the Giga may be, the horned herbivore knew he was no fool. He wouldn't chance injury at his age for such a small reward. It was costly...that being said, the noise could easily have lured other predators to the plains, the popular game trail making for an excellent source of easy food and ample conflict. Should a second predator appear, it would quickly worsen the situation. He was easily the largest herbivore involved in this little altercation, and he knew full well that any deal between large predators would make him their prime target; for all his bony armour, he was still quite the prize for a pair of hungry carnivores. The thought was as unnerving as it was infuriating, the Trike's crest flushing with blood as jaguar-like spots began to appear along the orange-red edges of the frill, eye-spots dotting the thick bony crest as an angry bellow came from the crested behemoth...

The old pachy burst out of tree line and skid to a stop in front of the shunosaur, stopping him dead in his tracks."Hey what's the big idea-"snarled Toklo after the sudden arrival of this stranger. He suddenly shut his jaw when he saw the glare the ceratopsian gave him before he ran to the triceratops's side, a bellow emanating from deep inside his throat.

Blue Eyes finally got to her feet with a whack of her powerful tail. She then growled, her short but sharp fangs raised in a snarl as she glared at the Giga. She and Toklo began to head toward the two ceratopsians who were circling the bewildered gigantic predator who was staring at the two with hate and a desire to kill...

As the Carnotaurus made its way towards the ceratopsians, Erebus shifted focus, an angry grunt coming from the herbivore as his horns were suddenly aimed at the smaller predator. He could not see what motive the Carnotaurus could have in a friendly relationship with the Shunosaurus, and as far as he was concerned, it was just another threat, waiting for an opportunity to strike. It was no less an enemy than the enormous Giga that glared at them bitterly from a distance...

The old pachy bellowed in outrage as he saw the 2 odd friends trot toward the ceratopsians. He roared loudly,"Get out of here! Me and this Trike have this under control." Blue was about to snarl a reply, when the shuno simply nipped ger shoulder as he began to trot away at an increasing pace,"Better do what the elder says.." And with that the duo sped off, leaving the powerful creatures to themselves.

_____________

Tanc, the old pachyrhinosaurus, snorted in annoyance with those youngsters. Didn't they know that they couldn't possibly be able to attack that giganotosaurus by themselves, even if it wasn't this dangerous foe. But he pushed that thought aside as he faced the giant, his crest pumping full of blood, brightening his colors in the only warning to the southern predator...

A cruel glare met the ceratopsians as they stared the Giganotosaur down, fangs glinting as sticky strings of saliva dripped from the hungry predator's jaws. His eyes shifted to the two smaller creatures for a brief moment, the bitterness in his gaze momentarily fading before he returned his focus to the two horned herbivores. A plan began to formulate in the predator's head, simple and brief, but effective should all go as planned. And with that, the Carcharodntosaurid began to pace a wide circle around the two herbivores, a gutteral snarl coming from the hungry predator...

The old veteran's eyes never left the killer as it began to circle the two crested herbivores. He pawed the ground as he awaited the giganotosaurus' next move, a puff of steam rising from his nostrils in a audible puff. He wondered briefly,'Why does a carnotaur befriend a herbivore like that shun?', before he coughed out a low, deep bellow, ready to ram the carcharodontosaurid at the slightest sign of danger...

A gurgling growl came from the Giganotosaur, responded to with a groan from Erebus. This was odd. The Giga wasn't backing down as he normally would. He was up to something, and it was quickly making the irritably ceratopsian nervous, and with it, angry. In an attempt to try and break the Giga's stance and force a retreat, Erebus lunged forward, swinging his head upwards, curved, spear-like horns swinging dangerously in the air. The Giganotosaur didn't back down, however. For whatever reason, Rook was confident enough to keep the pressure on the two herbivores, despite his obvious hunger. He was too far from them to be able to take him out with a surprise lunge, but too close to be able to turn and leave without risking an attack from behind. It was an unnerving situation. For now however, the aged warrior was satisfied in that the Shunosaurus had retreated, albeit with a second potential threat. That was its problem now though. He did what he could to try and drive it off...

Tanc was growing worried. Any carnivore, even ones larger than this giganotosaurus, would have backed down from the mock charge of the triceratops. A sense of realization washed over the pachy, making him shiver as though he was cold, for he now realized what the predator was playing at. He simply playing with the two, it seemed. But that didn't stop Tanc from keeping his defense up, as he swung his armored skull back and forth, waiting....

A gurgling growl came from the Giganotosaur as it saw its plan had worked. Circling slowly until he was in position, Rook suddenly broke off, giving his back to the ceratopsians....only to chase down the Sauropod. He was fast. Possibly too fast for the horned herbivores to keep up. And with enough space between the ceratopsians and the ill-fated Shunosaurus, it would likely be that it was brought down and dead before the horned herbivores could become a problem...

Erebus bellowed as he charged, trying to run down Rook, knowing that the chances of success were slim. At this rate, the Giga would kill the Sauropod long before he could get close enough to stop him. The only chance it had now, barring a miracle, was the treeline. Sauropod though it may be, it was less than half the Giga's size, and would have much less trouble navigating the tightly packed trees than the predator would...but even then, it was not a guaranteed escape...

Toklo and Blue looked back behind to see how the ceratosians were faring, only to see the giganotosaurus race towards them, gaining with every step. Toklo, knowing through experience, charged into the trees, scattering birds and small animals away. Blue, not knowing what the sauropod was doing, she growled in annoyance and charged straight toward the Giga, jaws wide open as she roared, aiming for the soft neck....

Tanc trumpeted in alarm as he raced after the triceratops and mapusaurid, knowing even as he was running as fast as he could, that his chance of beating the carnivore were slim. But he kept going anyway, passing the much larger triceratops and began to slowly catch up to the voracious flesh ripper...

The Giganotosaurus's jaws spread wide in a snarl as the Carnotaurus charged, prepared to tackle it head on, knowing the impact alone would kill the horned carnivore. It seemed he would not achieve his intended target...but the Carnotaur would suffice as a substitute...

Crusher was on the brink of stepping out of the treeline, curious as to the noise and the scent of the Giganotosaurus so close to them, only to stop in his tracks. What he saw was far from a pleasant sight. Two ceratopsians were chasing down a Giganotosaurus; unsurprising, considering one of said ceratopsians was the infamous Triceratops. The other, he hadn't seen before, but it seemed to be just as aggressive. What the Giganotosaurus was charging towards, however, was even more strange. Right ahead of him, a Carnotaurus was tearing across the plains, seemingly intent on a head on collision. What're you doing, Rook? What have I stumbled across? thought the Tyrannosaurus, intrigued. It seemed Ripper had been right. Observance was indeed, an entertaining pastime...

As Blue closed in on the giganotosaurus, Toklo stopped, hearing the roaring of the 4 combatants. So he turned around and looked at what was going on.

Blue collided with the larger carnivore, her horn going deep into his shoulder before she was knocked off, flying several yards away. She collided to the ground with a loud thump. She could instantly tell that she broke her left leg from the impact alone. But she was glad about the damage she put into the gig.

The scarred pachyrhinosaurus skidded to a stop when he saw the carnotaurus bounce off the carcharodontosaurid with a bloody horn. He roared in rage, along with the shunosaurus, after everything the predator did. He began to pad on a increasingly smaller circle around the carnivore, wanting to kill the beast. Out of the corner of his eye, he could see the sauropod begin to circle also, whipping his tail back in forth, ready to break bones...

Rook snarled as the Carnotaurus rammed him, a deep gash left in his side from the impact as the Mapusaurid tumbled to a halt, kicking up dirt and plant matter in its wake as it skid to a messy halt, leg seemingly broken, if the odd angle was anything to go by. He had his meal. The other herbivores continued to approach although the predator had a food source and a reason to break off his pursuit. Now he was on the defensive, however, and attacking him would be a risky move. A bellowing roar came from the Giganotosaur as his jaws swung dangerously through the air, a threatening display that shook through to the very bones of anything nearby. It was a final warning; anything foolish enough to try and come closer would be killed and thrown on top of the injured Carnotaurus's soon to be slain corpse...

Erebus began to close in, slowing down once he saw what had transpired. It was certainly the strangest encounter he'd ever seen occur in his lifetime. What happened to the Carnotaurus mattered little to him. Those predators could tear eachother to shreds until they were both wiped off the face of the island for all he cared. But the fact that the other herbivores were continuing to tempt fate gave him pause; for once, the normally bitter, irritable ceratopsian was not the first to charge into combat against a carnivore....and for once, it was the herbivores harassing the carnivore, rather than the other way around. It was humbling, to say the least. Perhaps we're not so unalike thought the Triceratops as he strode towards the scene, taking his time, not wanting to give the Giga a reason to actively try and kill the two herbivores before him. "You fools! You'll get yourselves killed! It has its meal! Leave it!" bellowed the horned veteran...

Crusher watched silently, choosing not to intervene. Though he knew he could probably bring either of the two herbivores with ease, he knew Rook didn't trust him, and would just as likely push him onto the horns of the Trike as he would help him win a fight. As much as Rook's help would be useful to Crusher's cause, he knew it'd be risky putting himself in a position where he himself could be put in danger...no...he'd leave them be, for now. Once one of the smaller herbivores was brought down and there was enough potential food available that Rook wouldn't fear starvation...then he'd help...

Tanc stopped for a split second after hearing what the trike said before continuing toward the Giga. He bellowed to all who hear,"I will not leave this battle until I draw blood!". He lumbered behind the Giga, ignoring its threat, then reared up and bit the carn's tail, drawing a tiny bit of blood. Satisfied, he padded into the tree line, unknowingly passing within inches of the rex.

Tokli didn't care what the trike said. That carnotaurus gave him time to leave when he should have, and he owed her his life for that. So, gathering his tail behind him, he swung his club within inches of the carnivore's snout. He snarled, rearing up on his hind legs, and he knew the giganotosaurus knew he meant business.

The massive Tyrannosaur watched as the ceratopsian entered the treeline, practically underneath him, mere inches separating the two, only the Tyrannosaur's dark brown, tree-trunk like legs to thank for it missing him. He chose not to attack it, having eaten fairly recently, though he continued to watch the scene, piercing golden eyes shimmering through the trees as the light of the mid-day sun reflected off them. A low growl reverberated in his throat, too quiet to be heard by the clashing dinosaurs in the plains, though the Pachyrhinosaurus would likely have a different story to tell...

Erebus stopped his approach. It was obvious there was nothing to be gained by continuing to press the attack, and it seemed that, for all his efforts, the sauropod wanted to die. With that, he stopped, a fair distance from the two, watching with a bitter glare at the result of his wasted efforts, a crippled, potentially doomed Carnotaurus, a sauropod charging towards death itself, and a bewildered, but thoroughly angered Giganotosaurus, wanting nothing more than to feed in peace...

Rook snarled as he saw the herbivore's swing miss, a bone chilling chomp following the limb as the tail was pulled out of reach. As the herbivore reared, the Giganotosaur snarled, tempted to simply use its weight against it by ramming it over, a move that would typically smash its entire ribcage, the damage fatal. But he knew his chances of eating in peace would probably fall significantly as the scent of blood and decay got out. He wanted to minimise that risk, well aware that he was close to a large number of Tyrannosaurs; creatures he despised almost as much as their Spinosaurid rivals. And with that, the Giganotosaurus stepped back, out of the Shunosaur's reach, another rattling snarl coming from the predator, warning it to back down one final time. He was an ageing hunter...While he was not as robust as he was in the past, he was still a powerful hunter and an experienced fighter...it would only take one well timed move to kill the smaller animal...Sauropod or no, it was prey...Titanosaurs trembled at the mere sight of him...A Shunosaurus would be no trouble to dispatch...

Toklo roared, landing to the ground, shaking it violently. He knew that the gig was going to attack, but he fought off spinosaurs away from his herd. He quickly charged, stopping himself in front of the carnotaur, growling,"You will not scare me, sauropod killer. Though you have killed behemoths, I am different." He swung his club back and forth, as if showing off his only warning to back away now. He then swung his neck and head back, knowing that he would go for the vulnerable area. He roared loudly, preparing to fight for the carnotaur's life...

The Giganotosaurus growled as he paced from side to side in front of the herbivore, keeping himself right at the front, the herbivore's throat within direct reach. He chose not to attack yet, however, instead keeping his jaws at the ready, fangs bared and dripping with saliva, fiery eyes glaring at the herbivore with deadly intent..."If it is death you want, little sauropod....then it is death you shall receive" snarled the giant...
