Nuka growled silently as she watched the massive rex creep up toward her. She rose up on her heels, keeping at a crouch to show her submission to a potentially dangerous foe, which she didn't want to battle. Grunting,"Go ahead and have your fill on that small herbivore. There's enough prey by the river until I finish my journey," She stood up and moved to the creatures right, her head lowered in defense in case it decided to attack...

Crusher Eyed the kill, noting that much of it was already eaten. Still, it was better than nothing, and for now at least, he wasn't comfortable focusing on food while the Spinosaur was still watching. He would have to find out a bit more before he could consider hunting. Shifting his gaze to Morphena, he nodded stiffly, the female stepping forward into the open, approaching the kill, grabbing the very tip of it and pulling it closer, before digging in hungrily, letting Crusher stand watch. "Journey? Where?" growled the male curiously...

She bared her teeth slightly as she saw the second rex emerge, but didn't attack, knowing that death would be certain if she even provoke the two. "Toward the inner parts of the island," hissed the Spinosaur with disgust as she heard the rex's jaws crunching the demasto's bones as it fed. Feeling a bit awkward watching the creature eat, she sloshed back into the river, swimming toward where she pounced the snorting herbivores.

That's not good thought Crusher as the Spinosaur turned away, watching it depart. The inner regions of the island meant she could well be meeting up with Thrasher's kin. It was a stretch to assume, but Thrasher was known for being marginally more hospitable towards his own kind than others. She had a chance at a comfortable living if she went there...That also meant she could well be a future foe. To make matters worse, if her destination was where he believed it to be, it would likely be the case they followed the same path. There'd be no way of hiding the fact they were following. Between the wind currents and the footfalls, it would grow clear increasingly quickly...

Nuka returned shortly later with another carcass in her jaws. As she lumbered back to where she was sitting earlier, she tossed the kill toward the rexes. "That should be enough," snorted the goliath as she rested her bulk down, beginning to groom herself again. "So, tell me, what brings two tyrannosaurs this close to the center, what with all those murderers," asked the spinosaurus with curiosity matching her size. "Surely it can't be to go swimming in the many lakes here."

The two Tyrannosaurs looked at eachother, then the Spinosaur and her catch, taken aback by the generous gesture. "That's very kind of you" growled Morphena, giving voice to the reactions both Rexes had to the surprising gift. "It's something rarely seen these days, what with the shortage of prey being what it is...You have our thanks" growled Crusher as he stepped forward, taking his turn at feeding, pulling a large slab of flesh off the freshly killed Desmatosuchus. "We've been heading across the island...trying to find some more suitable territory..." growled Morphena after a moment, quickly coming up with a story to cover their intentions. "With so many other super-predators on our side of the island, it's become nearly impossible to get a decent scrap of turf for our own" she added, helping strengthen the story. "What 'murderers' were you talking about?" she asked, tilting her head...

"Surprised you don't know," growled the titan, a tiny ember of hatred forming as she spoke. "Thrasher's minions, traitors I call them, are everywhere. Especially this close to his territory." She growled deeply as she spoke, ignoring the crunching of bone and armor. "They killed my mate and children. I'm heading inland so I can take back my revenge on those killers," she held back a few tears as she spoke, remembering that day. She then layed her head down and closed her eyes, trying to remember the times before the attack...

Morphena shifted her gaze to Crusher, taken by surprise. "I thought Thrasher took care of other Spinosaurs. Why would he attack one of his own?" she growled. Crusher, though he continued eating, was listening intently, his bites a bit more careful, avoiding the bone so that he could listen more carefully to what was being said...This must've been the Spinosaur the Postosuchus mentioned...The fact it knew the Spinosaur at all was surprising in itself, but for the Spinosaurus to actually have her own issue with Thrasher in the first place was another level of shock entirely...

"He's a monster," snarled the spinosaurus, back on her feet and standing tall. "All he cares about is himself and the only reason he is still alive is because of his 'friends'." Snapping her jaws in quick succession and continued. "If only Thrasher was a nicer creature, dinosaurs wouldn't want to kill him unsuccessfully all the time." She stopped, curiosity pointing her at the two. She hissed slyly,"You wouldn't be going after him, would ya? If not, then your in a pickle because there are hardly anymore open territories lately."

At that, Morphena's gaze shifted to the larger Tyrannosaur feeding at her side, his gaze shifting to the Spinosaur as he stopped, swallowing a mouthful as he lifted his head to look at the piscivore directly. "That is the plan, yes. My kin and I have a long running history with him. Much of my family was killed off 16 years ago by Thrasher and his father, along with a group of other Spinosaurs loyal to them. It left me on my own for much of the time since. I was only reunited with the last of my surviving relatives a couple of days ago. In that time I have been surviving on my own, since I was more or less a hatchling. I intend to give him a taste of what 16 years of pain feels like...And I will bring him and his entire family, all his friends....everyone foolish enough to stand by his side...to their knees, in the process. If I must kill a few dozen of them to make my point clear, then so be it. It'd be a fitting response to what he has done to me, my kin...and countless others" growled the Rex lowly as he straightened, the edge taken off his hunger, his fangs coated in the blood of the armoured herbivore.

Snorting, Nuka smiled. "At last, some other carnivores that want to rip Thrasher's sorry sail off." She roared loudly, finally not the only one attempting what would surely be suicide mission alone, but now... with a group it could be possible. She laid back down and grunted,"If your gonna attack Thrasher, your gonna need all the energy you can get." She closed her eyes and pretended to sleep, rumbling deeply to strengthen the act.

"Keep it down!" rasped Crusher as the Spinosaur roared. "Anyone listening in will pass it on to Thrasher, then we'll end up walking into a death trap!" growled Morphena lowly, glancing around warily, watching for potential spectators. Meanwhile, her mind was claimed by concern once more. That frightening tone of raw hatred that Crusher tended to be gripped by whenever Thrasher was brought up. It was rare, but the tone dripped with a malevolence that, to her at least, was more frightening than even Thrasher's fabled brutality. Was this really one she wanted to side with? a 'saviour' of the island? Was this rage, this malicious, poisonous hate, the result of Thrasher's actions? Or was there an underlying factor in the pure, unbridled fury that was Crusher's wrath? It was a question that gnawed at the back of her mind, a concern that seemed to resurface the moment she thought it had passed. "You can rest, Morphena. I'll stand watch. We'll take it in turns. We'll move before dawn" rumbled Crusher, Morphena eyeing the male with concern, nodding hesitantly as she lay down beside him, leaving the Rex to finish eating, the male once more making use of the plentiful amount of flesh, avoiding the largest of the bones so as not to disturb the others' rest...

Smiling, she shut up, barely able to keep her excitement down. 'Let them come. Let them feel the wrath of Thrasher's cousin,' thought Nuka as she stared at the rexes with slight annoyance. Sniffing the air and finding no dinosaurs of a potential threat, only a compy in the bushes, she grumbled. "Is there something else I should know that you haven't told me yet?" hooted the green giant as she slowly wallowed into the river's shallows.

"Not much" growled Crusher quietly, not wanting to disturb Morphena, knowing it had been a long day for her. "Thrasher has sentries all around his territory. I've been whittling him down for a while now, so that should soften his defences. But I'm not sure how long it will take him to replace them. Our main problem is the small threats. The packs of Raptors and Troodon that dot his borders. We need our arrival to take him by surprise. Every risk we take is one more chance for his defences to be strengthened" explained the Rex lowly as he finished eating, walking over to the river to drink and clean his muzzle of the blood that coated his maw. "I plan to challenge him to a one on one fight. Hopefully he cares enough about his own honour that he'll accept it. From what I know, he's proud and enjoys destroying his most dangerous foes himself. If all goes well, that'll be my way to a quick and easy fight. If not, I'll just have to butcher everything standing between me and his throat" rumbled the Tyrannosaur as he dipped his muzzle into the river, drinking several mouthfuls to wash away the metallic tang of the blood.

Lifting his jaws from the water, he let his gaze settle on the Spinosaur for a long moment. "The territory he and his father claimed belongs to my family and I. They took it from us when I was young, and killed much of my family in the process. I don't want the entire thing back. Only the core of it, with a couple of game trails, a couple of rivers...enough to sustain my family. The rest I'll give back to the other predators on the island...to try and fix the mess my father created all those years ago" Growled the behemoth, eyes held low as he reflected on that fact...

She nodded her skull slowly, understanding. "I know how you feel, I really do. I think what your trying to accomplish is something everyone on the island from the scurrying compys to the colossal argentinosaurs all wish for." She hooted briefly as to say 'goodbye', as she began to swim toward the inner part of the interior..
-----------
Blue, whose leg was beginning to turn a darker shade, noticed a large, dark grey, almost back, strange looking boulder in front of highest cave. She nudged Toklo, who was staring at the cave, seemingly unaware of the rock. Suddenly the rock shook and unwound itself. The 'boulder' was a fully grown male carnotaurus with jet black horns. He growled, making the air around the two intruders shake. "What do you two want?" hissed the black giant with hatred in his deep voice. Toklo spoke up, for the younger carnotaurus was staring at the male, lost for words,"We have come to find someone. She has a broken leg and an old dinosaur told us to find someone who can help before he died, trying to protect us." The massive predator was silent, only his heavy breathing a sign he was still alive as he began to lead them into the cave...

Crusher watched as the Spinosaur departed, eyes narrowing as he walked back to Morphena's side, beginning the first stretch of a silent vigil, letting his companion sleep in peace, ready to destroy anything that would dare approach, the Rex silently wondering whether he had been right to tell the Spinosaur so much...He didn't even know her name...and yet she knew their plans...if she were part of a trick by Thrasher...he may well have just sealed his own and Morphena's fates...

She stopped shortly after finding a much more sandy bank to rest on. As she clambered out of the watery world, she looked up at a nearby mountain. She squinted her eyes, seeing a couple small things, possibly dinos, move into a cave. She grunted and began to make her sandy nest, ignoring the strange sight as she settled down to rest. When she was finally comfortable, she let out a bellowing yawn, letting all know a giant was here. She then closed her eyes and the last thing she saw before she slept was the same compy from earlier, making its way toward her. Then she went out cold, her rumbling filling her eardrums.

Over the course of the night, Crusher and Morphena took turns standing watch, each allowing the other to rest, Crusher taking the first watch, waking Morphena in the latest hours of the night to take over. By dawn, the two were thoroughly rested, Crusher's eyes opening to the sight of a burning sunrise, the Rex closing his eyes and rising to his feet, tilting his head down to shield his eyes from the light. The calls of birds mingled with that of distant giants bellowing across the plains, the occasional pterosaur calling out above. "Good sleep?" growled Morphena as her gaze turned to meet the large male. "As restful as one can have when walking towards a fight that may determine the fate of the island" responded Crusher, snorting amusedly at the thought. "You'll be fine. Don't worry. Besides, you've got me to protect you" responded Morphena as she gave him a nudge in the flank, the push making the Rex stumble a bit, reminding him that his companion had more than enough strength to back up the statement.

Nuka woke up, smelling many carnivores, many of them small. She rose, eyeing the strangers who dared to surround an adult spinosaurus. Around her were hundreds of compys, with a few ceolophisis in the mix, all staring at her with bared fangs. A ceolophisis, the largest of the bunch, stepped forward and hissed,"Your coming with us Spiny. Our boss wants all carnivores by his lands to meet him." She snorted, her head right in front of the miniscule theropod,"Like you could make me, a creature many times the size of all of you, come with you?" The ceolo backed away and screeched, making Nuka hiss in irritation. She watched as out of the bushes came a large group of Utahraptors. The Triassic dino gave a lone hoot. The raptors pounced, all of the clawed lizards jumping onto the spino, sending her to the ground, belly down. With her down, the ceolo walked right up to the carnivore's massive snout, which was currently being clamped shut by a pair of raptors. "You follow us now or... these guys will kill you now," hissed the scavenger calmly. Nuka growled,"Fine. Lead me beast."

"Any sign of our 'friend'?" growled Crusher as he stretched, yawning widely as a couple of loud cracks were heard from the Rex's sleep-stiffened joints. "Yeah. She's sleeping over there" responded Morphena, nodding in the direction of the river. Off in the distance, the tall fin of the Spinosaur could be seen moving towards the treeline...oddly in a different direction to where they were headed. "Hm....For one so eager for vengeance, she makes a habit of straying" added the female, Crusher grunting dismissively. "Let her do what she likes. We're falling behind already. Thrasher's allies have territories not too far from here...we need to get moving before they're tipped off to our presence" growled Crusher. "At this rate, they probably already know.. What's a quick investigation going to hurt? Besides, if she really IS on our side, she'll be a useful surprise against Thrasher's cronies" rumbled Morphena. "And if she's not? We could be walking into a trap" responded Crusher, Morphena falling silent, considering what that implied...
