In a peaceful, lush green valley, a herd of about fifteen unicorns were peacefully lounging about, grazing on the beautiful emerald coloured grass and happily socializing with each other. The mares of the herd carefully watched over their young as they frolicked and played in the valley, often reminiscing about the past. The males of the herd often chatted about the dark times of the unicorns, and the danger a human was to a unicorn.
Revion, an ebony hued unicorn, was a bit distant from the herd. He was teasing his dear friend, and fellow unicorn, Serenity. "Come on, you filly...just a step out of the valley," he nickered teasingly and pranced around the young unicorn.
Serenity, however, snorted in displeasure at Revion's cockiness and shook her head in response. "You know the rules, Revion," she scolded. "You know my stance on leaving the valley...it is NOT going to happen, no matter how much you tease me about it. I swear, sometimes you act like a colt." She rolled her eyes at his childish antics. Even though she was only two years old, she believed in the stories that the older unicorns told. "Do you even listen to the tales?"
Revion whinnied out a laugh and shook his head. "Come on, You can not simply believe everything that those old equines tell you! Sometimes you can be a naive little unicorn. It's so cute," he further teased, and pulled her mane. "You need to learn to let loose, and enjoy life, Serenity. You know, you only live once!" He cantered away from her, toward the shade of the trees.
The white filly sighed, and trotted after the black stallion. "I can learn to let loose," she nickered quietly. "But...you know-"
"Not really, I do not know what else is out there. Think, Serenity. What else is there beyond this boring valley? It is like a prison, if you really think about it." He nudged her gently. "Come on, just think for a moment. Have you ever wondered what was beyond the border of our homeland?"
"Well...when you put it that way, I am a little curious. Still though, the danger..." Serenity stamped her hoof. "I will not venture out there alone."
Revion looked amused at his friend's response. "You will not be alone. You have me, of course!" He playfully pulled her mane again and half reared. "What do you say? Think about it...there may be other herds out there. It will be...somewhat of an adventure!"
"I'll think about it, and let you know later," the white unicorn said softly. "For now, let us just enjoy what we have before us now." She smiled (or at least, smiled in a way a horse could smile) and laid down in the shade, enjoying the coolness.
"Hm ok, but it better be a yes," he countered, and started to nibble at the grass.
