"Considering how this entire structure IS Zulu'Khan, and yet he seems to be right here in front of us, I would assume you're all giving him one helluva headache. Whatever the case, it brings us back to one simple fact: You can leave, and live, or stay and die" said Jacob calmly. Be ready for hostility. He may snap at any second warned the mercenary through the private channel, the man already braced to kill the half-machine in front of him the moment he made so much as a move, though nothing betrayed that fact...

"I have had enough of your lies!" the machine-man bellowed. He raised his metal arm, the plating spreading apart and rearranging to form the barrel of a heavy blaster. The cylinder was thick and emanating a powerful glow, pointed at Kane. The scientist within the armor was stunned, thoughts racing. Was he supposed to kill the man?

The machine-man barely had the chance to take aim, before his arm was slashed clean off, his body cleaved in half by Jacob's other Monoblade from crotch to skull, leaving the two severed halves to fall to either side of him. "I see you chose poorly...pity. I was hoping I wouldn't have to waste my ammo on civilians" he said lowly as the blades dissipated, The mercenary's gaze leaving the remains of the machine man as he drew his assault rifle...

Kane cringed at the sight of innards interspersed with live wires which crackled loudly with bright sparks. He looked away from the spreading puddle of blood to Zulu'khan.

"Okay...so those civilians are all zealots to what they see as a deity...deity wants them all dead. Two birds with one stone." he said, lumbering over to the machine, Tri-Blade activating with a burst of light and sound, humming loudly.

"I'm gonna gut this thing, you keep any baddies from getting in here. Sounds like a plan?"

"Works for me" said Jacob calmly as he activated a Monoblade, carving his way out of an unseen corner of the tent as the Phantom Active Stealth System initiated, the man literally disappearing on the spot, beginning his job of picking off threats...

Kane inspected the machine, taking in the fine details of design to divine where would be the best place to begin unceremonious dismantling of the thing.

"ASILO'DURAM! URLICH'ASIM!" the automaton boomed.

"I'm gonna go ahead and assume you just called everyone you want dead to your aid. You're pretty hypocritical for an AI, you sure you don't have a glitch?" Kane said. Promptly after, he stabbed the three energy blades into Zulu'khan's casing, sparks flying as he sliced the machine open. The shadow of the armor was visible on the colorful tarp...

and everyone with a weapon was converging on the tent...

One of the Watcher's scans picked up a massive power fluctuation down below, and the barrier that prevented them from entering began to flicker and die. Something was happening in the town below, but it didn't matter to the Promethean machines. All they desired was the extermination of the outsiders...

Almost immediately, the armed inhabitants of the town began to drop, picked off from the shadows by Jacob as he moved in and around buildings, grenades detonating beneath them as they stumbled frantically to locate the attacker...

The anchor could be... anything. That news put both Rebin and Yukari into silence. It was a scary thought that the thing they had to destroy to save their world could basically be anything here... that giant tyrannosaur from earlier could have been an anchor, or the head zombie had assaulted the nazi base... the rammifications of this thought were not pleasant to think of at all...

The group soon began to pass through a large, open canyon. The wind was still, and little seemed to be moving. The ancient, dusty bones of creatures unfortunate enough to fall into the deep crack in the earth littered this hallowed ground. The remains of dinosaurs, alien beasts, and vaguely humanoid shapes seemed to stick out of the earth liek ancient statues. The beep of the sensors became almost deafening, and soon, a large cave was visible. There were two beeps that seemed to originate from within the cave. One was from the probe... but another was from some form of electronics. Damian's heart almost skipped a beat, as the APC slowed to a stop. There was an eerie, dim light that radiated forth form the mouth of the cave. Someone was living here....

"Looks like there's been more people around here than I would've thought," Damian said, as the APC's engines died down. "Yuo guys willing to go and get the probe, or would you rather try and find these.... 'anchors'?"

Whatever had spotted the group, it had follwoed them in silence. The creature made no moves, his beady, teal eyes looknig down form the roof of the canyon. Recognizing the metallic sheen of the APC, the beast waited, jaws gnashing and claws flexing. All he needed to do was wait for them to exit their strange, modile creature... and he'd strike....

"I guess we'll go and get the probe here. No use trying to find the anchors until wefind a way to reliably find them." Rebin said as he and Yukari prepared to exit out of the APC. If one of the two probes were indeed here... then that was one less issue to deal with. However, if there was someone else here as well... hopefully they were friendly. If not...

"The probes vere taken offline shortly after arriving here. It is possible that they arrived near one of those anchors. If that truly is the case, ve should try und retrieve them. If ve're lucky, ve'll find them both. If not, perhaps the probes vill give us a lead" responded Dietrich as he looked between the passengers of the APC...

Damian nodded, before he pressed one of the buttons on the dash of the APC. A low hiss was heard, as the locks on the door was released. The big bear of a man rose up to his feet, and picked up his tools of destruction.

"Get your weapons ready and let's head out," Damian said. "I'd rather not wait until nightfall, and risk that ghost thing catching up with us, or worse... that alpha zombie managing to find us."

In his haste, Damian failed to notice the quiet ping from the APC's scanners, indicating a living organism nearby... one irradiated by the rift.....

Hearing the hiss from the door, the tigrex readied himself for the kill...

Unaware of the APC's systems, the light pinging sound went unnoticed, Dietrich assuming it must be normal for the crew to have paid it little regard. Grabbing the gas-mask he had worn as his facial protection, he put it onto his face, a series of clamps clanking into place as it was locked in position, the lenses glowing golden as the systems within powered up. Adjusting his hat over the gas mask, he made his way for the door, 6-barrelled assault rifle in hand...

Loading up with their weapons, Yukari and Rebin were ready to head off to the cave. Rebin was the first to disembark, but as he did so, he looked around carefully without exposing himself too much out of the APC. Who knew what lurked out he-

And then, as he was looking up at the top of the ridge where the cave was, he saw the tigrex perched there, waiting for the right moment to leap down. when he saw the beast, Rebin's heart nearly jumpe dup into his throat. Had he just recklessly gotten out of the vehicle, no doubt he would have been attacked. Quickly he stepped back into the APC. "Shut the door. It looks like we have company hanging above the cave there. A really big predator waiting up there, from the looks of it..." he said in as calm a voice as he could manage...

Damian quickly yanked the door shut on the APC, causing it to hiss loudly once more. Great, just what they needed- some more wildlife to interfere in their mission! Absolutely lovely.

"Alright... ****, just what we needed eh?" Damian said as he sat down at his station. "Alright, let's take this ************ down..."

Grond knew he had been spotted now.... there was no point in him lingering here any longer. His main advantage had already been lost within the first few seconds on them opening the door! Grond immediately began to fall back from his roost on the cave's roof, just as Damian revved up the APC and readied main gun. Almost before he had time to aim, Grond had disappeared from the roost. Damian let out a soft laugh, but then he came to a crippling realization: the monster would soon realize that they were no longer in the APC, and might come back... if that's the case, they'd need to find the probes, FAST.

"Alright, guys," Damian said. "Let's, uh... let's sit tight for a couple minutes. Wait until I'm 100% sure the monster's gone. Then, we'll need to get the probes as fast as possible- I don't want to risk that thing coming back to wait for us while we're exploring. Got it?"

A slab of the large machine's casing came off with a groan and thudded against the ground, scattering molten slag which caught the tarp of the tent. Needless to day, the ensuing blaze only took seconds to ignite.

"Malaruder casa'madigm!" said the mechanical monolith. "Farduum maschit asiatur!"

"Are you stubborn or persistent? I don't even know what to call a bargaining-" Kane said, pausing as he heard a boom elsewhere on the gear-platform and the screams of the unfortunate souls left to Jacob.

"-bargaining robot who speaks a language I can't even understand. And while I would have loved to study how you work, I don't really have the time." the explorer finished saying. He stepped away from the sizable hole he carved into Zulu'khan's core and switched on the Tri-Blade's RC-mode.

The fragments of metal spun around the end of the tool's barrel and the energetic spiral of chaos manifested seconds later, the channeled Rift energy flowing freely into core of the "god-construct".

"NATZ'ULRU AMADIEM." Zulu'khan roared. It was the only time his true form was as imposing as the haunting voice that echoed elsewhere in the ziggurat.

As the machine's core was being rended apart by the stream of energy, so to did its exterior suffer. The terminals blended with the huge clockwork mechanisms began to spew flames and sparks, exploding while gears seized and metal groaned to a halt...

"Wait and see if it leaves... nice plan" Yukari mumbled to herself before speaking out, "Alright. That sounds ike a plan."

Rebin was slightly more optimistic about the scenario that was now at play. "If only we had a deck of cards to use to pass the time by. This would be the perfect time to use them."

"Your vehicle has sensors and a mobile turret. USE them" said Dietrich firmly as he looked at the 'soldiers' with which he was travelling. Were he with his original forces, they would have fired through whatever obstacle was blocking them to hit the threat, eliminate it, and then proceed with their mission...

Jacob meanwhile, was picking off the villagers-turned-fighters, butchering them with the Mono-blades, finding his opponents not worth the ammunition he had wasted on them initially. Many of them were injured, and few could operate a weapon efficiently. One of them had actually managed to miss him, point blank, with what looked to be a blunderbuss or shotgun of some sort, simply because they didn't consider the recoil of the weapon and ended up shooting right over his head. They never got the chance to fire a second round as they were cleaved in half while recovering from the initial shot. You nearly done, Kane? I'm bored of this bunch already inquired the Mercenary as he beheaded one fighter, holding the body up to soak up the shots of another, before kicking the corpse right at the attacker, the sheer force of the blow knocking the gunner to the ground and pinning him under the weight of the corpse, Jacob neatly and efficiently beheading the man as he continued his dance of destruction amidst the chaos of combat...

"I'd rather not waste ammo on something that has already left our line of sight," Damian replied sternly. The scanners were still picking up the Tigrex, but it seemed to have left quite a distance... approximately 200 meters already, and counting. "Also, show a little respect, please. We didn't HAVE to get your out of that camp. Hell, if it wasn't for Yukari disobeying my orders, you'd be dead!"

But, Damian quickly calmed down, and soon, the Tigrex seemed to have gotten a fairly solid distance away from the APC.

"Well, let's get going then." And with that, Damian readied his supplies once more....
