Yes, but we've been over and over the whole idea of WoW as an RPG and we decided not to worry with it. I mean what other popular games and movies are there?

wow LE....you just spoiled a whole movie for me in one sentence....thanks alot... :x

but ya...guys, check FRPG...it's as complicated as you want it to be [you don't have to get completely tied up in the Lore. you don't even need it unless you plan on having some kind of political role in the RPG]

I was mulling over an idea for a little while, but seeing as it's based on a comic, it might not work out so well. You'd have to read the comic before you fully understood anything. -shrugs- About wolves, called The Blackblood Alliance...makes good reading. So an RPG about it might not be the best idea in the world.

you could try...just build it up as you go along. im sure all that Fan-Fic writing has given you some idea of how to slowly show people what's going on, so later on they understand it and it's as detailed as you like...

but keep in mind wolves aren't the only option here....you have just about every mythological creature available to you...even demons [the majority follow one leader, the main antagonist in this RPG, but there are others who aren't]

Anyway I've been thinking about the whole RPG ideas. And I think perhaps trying to do a superhero themed RPG. But only with heroes and villains from the Marvel series, considering they are some of the most popular heroes and villains.

here's the thing. if you copy a game, you're bound by the things within the game. we need to really spread outside of the limitations we're seeing on TV and in games...

its ok to base an rpg on something, but not to actually play it out. Thats pointless and boring. If you want marvel superheros, just make some clone of spiderman and kick him into Shrpg... Thats if you dont have the creative mind to make up your own super hero

I don't mean play it out as they do in a TV show or game but doing your own story. Still I'm just suggesting.

I got one. Inspired by Invader Zim, but not exactly like it.

Infiltration RPG

You are an alien from a dying planet

You are sent to Earth to see if it is ok for Secret Colnization; the process of infiltrating society and living as if you would do on your own planet, but wth human costums. The plan is perfectly....um...uh....planned

Land on the surface, use your higher intellect and technolgoy to make a base and study the surroundings. But the thing is..HUMANS ARE IMBECILLES!!!!

they constantly threaten your mission because they constantly snoop in on your privacy. If that doesn't happen, they're strange way of talking and doing things confuse you, they're so unorginized and annoying.

so what do you have?

A S.I.R unit: Secretive Intellegance Retrieval unit. A small robot with incredible strength that help you on your mission. They're child like and you need to train them, they tend to get side tracked by the smallest distractions.

Spider pack: what it sounds like. A hands free transport for your items of research that sprout 4 mechanical legs for fast transport. It is also a jet pack.

B.A.S.E unit: Biological. Automated. Secretive. Existance. you place it on the ground, a screen opens up.Design your human based home and voila! It creates the illusion of a normal abode with your secret alien base beneath it, to talk with other operatives.

And your ship. Its called a voot cruiser. it looks like this. Image

Interior: Image
this is your transport. It has a Information complex in which it scans your surrounds and gives you information on it. It has all of your tools. In your base, you have a garage for it.

What do you think?

Hello

Postby Raptor » Sun Dec 23, 2007 10:40 pm

Anyway, this is my first post here, figure I'll make it good. Now, I doubt this RPG will really fit into any of the others seeing as it's my original idea, but here goes nothing:

Legend has it, that millions of years ago, when the planet was still young, that the universe was governed by four spirits. Dalyss, the Pure, Kiren, the Warrior, Shasa, the Gifted, and Ori, the Night. Each one was equal, none with more power then the other. They wrote balance into the universe, ensuring that niether Good nor Evil overpowered the other. However, Ori, believing he deserved more power then the others, rose up and attacked them. He waged war with the three Spirits for thousands of years. Ori even took a new name, the Lord of Sin. He overpowered and killed Shasa, and absorbed her soul, giving him more might. He eventually killed Kiren, and grew in power even further. Finally, the Lord of Sin dueled and killed Dalyss. But he did not die in vain. With the last of his strength, Dalyss cast a spell which destroyed Ori's coporeal form and sealed his black soul away forever. Then, Dalyss weaved his own soul into the fabric of reality, in a desprate bid to mantain whatever balance was left. Thousands more years passed, and the first humans appeared. As did the first Dragons, and the first of the Grey Men. They found a place that they could coexsist peacfully in, a place known as the Valley. The Valley was where the humans built the city of Kiria. The Dragons chose the caves of Karan Ard, and the Grey Men chose the mountains. For years, all was at peace. But then, for reasons unknown, the Grey Men grew violent, and their Chieften, Kyrden, led them in an attack aganst Kiria. Years passed, and it seemed as if the Grey Men would triumph. That was until the Dragons intervined, driving the Grey Men back to the mountains. The Dragons returned to Karan Ard, and the Grey Men stayed in the Mountains. However, rumors have begun that the Grey Men are planning something. There have been sightings of a strange, cloaked figure in the Mountains, escorted by Grey Men. And in the night, the buzzing of locusts signals a dark omen. Balance is slowly starting to fall apart...

Yes, it is heavily influenced by the graphic novel Bone, and if you haven't read that, then you don't like graphic novels.

Well, the Grey Men are sort of Beast-like, hairy grey things that look like a cross between Bigfoot, a Rat, and a bear. They have large, round, red eyes. I'm not sure if this will be able to fit into the FRPG, I'll have to check it out.

Edit: I looked over the FRPG, and I'm just not sure this would fit in. The FRPG has too much of its own lore.

As for the Ancient Empire RPG thing, I guess you would be prehaps could be prehaps a common person, a noble, a Knight, common soldier, things like that. Still as for being the Leader itself, kinda gives you too much power so... im not sure

Also you also be like an assassin, hired to kill important figures around the world
