The droid launched itself just seconds before the cascade of debris came crashing down behind it. Its massive body twisted forwards in the air and then came down onto the Khuraka, sheer kinetic force dispersing the shield and driving the horned alien to the ground. One large metal hand pressed his gun down, the other balled into a fist was primed to land a blow to splatter the mercenary's skull across the floor...

Khuurava's feet slammed into the mech's chest plate, kicking it off him as he brought the assault rifle up and unloaded at the red orb, his legs lifting him back up, the Khurakra reaching for his shotgun, the weapon priming itself as he brought it to bear alongside the assault rifle, the combined force focused on the mech's exposed portions...

The unit raised an arm to protect its optics module but charged forth unperturbed, its armor stripping away gradually as slugs and bullets tore through its body, ramming into the mercenary and taking him along with the droid. In seconds he was swept across the factory floor and pinned against the opposite wall, the robot having Khuurava's face in its clutches...

Snarling, Khuurava pointed both weapons right at the machine's elbow, the combined firepower of the two weapons blowing the limb clean off at the join as Khuurava simultaneously kicked against the machine, using the wall as leverage to put the full force of the enhanced combat suit into effect, blowing the machine halfways across the room as he shook loose the arm...

The droid came came to a screeching halt, sparks leaping from its feet. The severed forearm seized up and fell to the ground with a heavy thud, echoing in the cavernous facility. From the destroyed elbow came several metal tendrils. They coiled around each other, forming a replacement limb in seconds which had a pointed tip, which then shot out across the space between it and Khuurava in seconds. It not only penetrated the Khuraka's armor, but the point slit apart inside and curved backwards, forming hooks. The robot threw the arm back as the improvised limb was reeled in, wrenching Khuurava off the floor and sending him flying at the robot, the other arm arcing around to meet Khuurava with a devastating blow...

the Khurakra gasped as the blow struck him, dazed, his shotgun dropping from his hand, before reaching for the grip of his blade, drawing it. "Why...wont you DIE?!" he snarled as he jammed the blade into the machine's 'face', cleaving through the red orb and simultaneously forcing the entire 'head to split apart, the high resonance of the blade splitting it apart as he drove it downwards...

In response, the robot grabbed Khuurava's arm by the elbow and twisted his forearm painfully to the side, snapping the Khuraka's arm as if it were a twig and dislocating the joint. Simultaneously, the 'hooks' straightened, allowing the robot to display the power in its legs, a kick sending Khuurava sprawling back to the wall he was pulled from, his sword then being pulled from the machine's mangled head. It was sightless, but even then, far from blind. Its other sensors- audio and frequency attuned devices- would be working in tandem to find its target, echo location itself was a viable tactic for the Executioner. It lived up to its name; it seemed nothing but total and instant annihilation could stop this beast of metal and machinery...

A pained bellow rang out through the facility as the limb was broken at the joint, ironically the same way the mech's limb had been disabled. The Khurakra slammed against the wall with a grunt, before falling to the floor, the limbs shifting under him as they absorbed his landing, the Khurakra landing on his feet. The Mercenary flicked a switch on his assault rifle, switching the grenade launcher's mode, the entire movement nearly imperceptible even to the eye, let alone non visual sensors. "Alright you robotic sunnuvabitch" rattled Khuurava venomously, as he began to step sideways, seemingly limping, his movements apparently slow. "You wanna dance....we'll ******* dance"...

Almost in response, the acid eating away at the robot's body released hissing that echoed ominously in the factory, following by the noise created by falling bits of metal. Khuurava's slow movement made detecting the sounds of his movement difficult, the noises created by the robot's own deteriorating body masking the Khuraka's own. It transferred the sword to the bundle of cable, which wrapped around its hilt with the blade hanging from the end. Pivoting on its feet, the robot then swung the sword around in a full circle, extending its tendril arm as he did. If Khuurava was in the radius of the swing, he would be sliced in two by his own blade...

Khuurava ducked as the weapon swung overhead, streaking past and round, slashing through the support beam of another conveyor belt, the noise generated sufficient for the Mercenary to fire a grenade round right at it's exposed chest, the round sticking in a hole in the armour as Khuurava leapt, launching himself several feet away from where he had fired the round, making sure his position was thrown off by the noise of the collapsing conveyor belt...

The explosion reverberated within the confines of the factory, the orange and red glow of flames casting the shadows back. Its other arm- as well as most of its torso- was gone, the Executioner's chassis mostly peeled away to reveal its inner skeleton, ever rearranging. The cables coiled around to reshape what was destroyed, but too much had been damaged in the explosion to do so properly. There was not even enough on reserve to reform the limb. The robot was locked in place, though it was clearly trying to move. Over the crackling of fire and the last of the conveyer belt falling to the ground floor, the strain on its servos attempting to move its body was clearly audible.

Then it happened

The bulk of the machine proved too much for its acid assaulted frame, the explosion weakening it to the point where the hulking metal behemoth folded, collapsing into a heap, blackened fluid spreading out from it...

"******* inconsiderate tin can....was tough enough a minute ago...Now there isn't even enough left to sell as salvage" hissed the annoyed Merc as he walked through the wreckage, picking up his various weapons where before heading towards his comrade below, plucking him up by the chest plate roughly. "Next time, wear a helmet. Maybe you'll be marginally less pathetic then" he hissed to the injured merc as he dragged him along back to the Scorpio, the machine roaring to life as he approached, the hatch hissing as it opened. tossing Arrak in, he then heaved himself in with his functioning arm, before pulling the hatch shut, taking a seat as he backed out of the damaged facility, the vehicle roaring across the desert like terrain as he approached the ship. Grievous was paying for this job....Khuurava would make sure he was properly compensated...

"WHAT?" Arrak shouted, far more loudly than necessary. He scratched at his ears, grimacing painfully. The battering had his ears ringing and head pounding, and the last thing he was paying attention to was Khuurava...

as the Scorpio began to move, the holoscreen came up, Khuurava typing up his comment in bold red letters, in plain sight. WEAR A HELMET NEXT TIME. MAYBE YOU WON'T SUCK SO MUCH seemed to glare at the Turian, the Khurakra flooring the accelerator as they left the facility behind. The few Vorcha left would likely have run. The damage inflicted would require funds the Blood Pack couldn't spare to repair, so the Mercenary was fairly certain they wouldn't be back. as they approached the Ezdelera, the hanger bay door opened, the vehicle rolling into it as the ship began to ascend, gradually gaining altitude as the door closed...

Arrak frowned at the message, then sat down, focusing on clearing his head for the moment, and thinking about what had just happened. From what he could see, the Vorcha, except for their leader, had been Blood Pack. The one that got away, however, was definitely not working for them. In fact, he didn't seem like the average Vorcha at all. And he was apparently working for Saren. And they had apparently set a surprisingly elaborate trap to make sure the two mercs were dead. And then there was the robot that attacked them as well. AND he lost his main weapon! Unsurprisingly, his headache was getting worse by the second...

The vehicle shut down as Khuurava climbed out, careful not to move his arm. He was NOT gonna enjoy the patch-up the Med Bay gave him, but he didn't have another option. For now though, it was time he contacted that damned cyborg and got his pay for the job...

Entering the cockpit, he started up an extranet comm link with Grievous. "Grievous come in. This is Khuurava" said the Mercenary in his typically harsh voice...

"This is Grievous," snarled the cyborg's grating voice through the ship's speakers. "Do you have something to report? I'm quite busy at the moment, so this had better be good..."

"Yes, I have something to ******* report" hissed Khuurava irritably. "Your factory is clear. And half wrecked, I might add. There was a mech in there. Obviously not TGDA standard. It was way beyond Blood Pack tech standards too. Not much left of it now, but it managed to mangle the insides of the facility. I hope you weren't expecting this to be a cheap job. Shattered limbs are costly to repair properly" he said. "As suspected, the Blood Pack are definitely working for Saren. We also overheard the term 'Reapers' mentioned. Unfortunately, no specific information on that was available" he added, his tone somewhat less irritated once he had vented some of his anger...

If Grievous was concerned about the partial destruction of his facility, he didn't sound like it. "Unfortunate, I suppose, but necessary. Now about the Blood Pa--" "It wasn't the Blood Pack," Arrak's voice cut in, interrupting the General. The Turian had walked onto the bridge, his head clearer and able to focus. "Excuse me?" Grievous growled, obviously annoyed at being interrupted. "Most of the Vorcha were Blood Pack mercs, but the ambush they planned was too well-organized. There were no Trandoshans or Krogan either. The Vorcha's leader was another Vorcha, with a different uniform. I believe I recognized his tattoo insignia. Some Vorcha gang called the Burning Claws. They were nasty contenders on Omega, but were outclassed by the bigger, more well-funded merc groups. But if they got funding from Saren, then who knows what they could do for him. Like hire Blood Pack troops to do their dirty work for them." There was a long pause from the other end, before Grievous finally responded. "Unusual indeed, freelancer. Now that I have the necessary information, your services will no longer be required to handle mercenary sabotage. I can handle it from here. Taking down Saren will now be your highest priority." He paused for a moment longer. "From what I have looked up, the term 'Reapers' refers to some sort of myth. Hyperadvanced machines that destroyed civilizations. I doubt they are anything but a fabrication. Saren no doubt wants to get you off his trail by hunting down ghost stories. That is a non-issue. However, this REAL droid... what can you tell me about it?"

"Not much. It was not like any droid I've seen in Citadel race arsenals, and it didn't match any other race's weaponry in my records either. It was a purple shade, with blue optics. It hit like a cruiser on legs, and compensated for damage, as though it was self repairing. Blowing off it's arm only led to it replacing it with dexterous cable that could punch through shields, armour and then hook itself underneath. Suffice to say, it was difficult to take down, and is the main cause of the damage to the facility" explained Khuurava. "I had guessed that it was a mech being researched, maybe confiscated from somebody and taken in for research, but one would think you'd be aware of it" he added, half in thought...
