Garroth simply ignored the hisses. He had been through enough and now was already back on his feet after not giving up on all hope altogether. This time he was going to fix up his wrongdoings and that was a promise he kept. He knew it would take time for the Gold Dragons to be used to him. He only hoped that Rutus was doing ok. He was forever grateful that Chronos had allowed him to stay in their realm but he knew he wasn't here on vacation. This was a time to prepare to redeem himself before he ever stepped back on his territory grounds again. Rutus may have banished him but Garroth was not about to give up. Everyone makes mistakes, no matter how bad. But then we are forgiven for those mistakes. I will return to my realm when it is time. But if the time comes and Belliar starts a full-fledged war, I will be there with my kind to find. Whether Rutus approves of it or not. I will make do whilst I stay. But I will be back Rutus. And if I can proove myself to the Gold Dragons then perhaps, in time they will think of the Green Dragons as friends and not just allies. He thought to himself as he followed Tranquillus down towards her quarters. Eventually it was become less desserted as they went deeper and deeper. Soon, they arrived at a large room where a large nest which was where Tranquillus slept and at another end was another nest. Garroth knew this was where he would sleep. Garroth lay down in the other nest near Tranquillus. He sighed finally that he was now able to rest. Tranquillus looked to him. "Garroth, I'm sorry this isn't so welcoming but it is an uneasy peace you have brought among our kind. I know it was under my own decision but the Gold Dragons will despise you the moment they see you in their sights so just understand that it will be hard to make friends at this time." Garroth continued to look up at the roof of the room. "I am sure they will come to learn and understand in due time. But I will do what I can to avoid any trouble in the meantime. I know that I might seem an embarrassment among your friends probably." He said in a bit of a humorous tone. "My friends will learn to respect you as long as you are around in my presence, whether they like it or not so do not fear Garroth." She replied in a serious tone. "Well, as long as they won't butcher me or torture me like the demons did to us, I will be fine." He replied. The two didn't say anything for a long time and then Tranquillus turned to Garroth with a concern look on her face. "Garroth?"
"Yes Tranquillus?"
"Not that it's a big concern and all but I must ask about this. I can't remove it from my mind otherwise."
"What troubles you then?"
"Back when we just escaped the demon realm and you were talking to Chronos."
"Yes? What of it?" He asked. This time looking to Tranquillus.
"Well you said to Chronos that you 'loved me as a friend, and possibly even more'. What did you imply by that?"
Garroth seemed to feel his chest ache.
"Well uhh...Tranquillus...understand it was something I said at the time but-"
Suddenly he was cut off when he realized Tranquillus had gotten out of her nest and walked straight over to him and looked down at him with a serious look on her.
"Garroth I want the truth. And trust me, do not even think of lying to me because I can tell if you are. Garroth, do you love me?" She asked with a single claw at Garroth's chin. Garroth froze for a minute before trying to act calm, but he knew there was no denying it any longer. He let out a long sigh before talking again.
"Tranquillus, after all those times we've spent together in my realm for over a year now. I have come to learn and understand so much for you. There has been no one like you in my life. Yes, I do love you, I didn't straight away, love I believe is something that is not seen at first-sight. But as time went by, we became good friends and well, I just had that feeling one day that I had a sense of longing for you. I still do. Honest and truthfully I adore you Tranquillus, everything about you. I don't care what Chronos thinks of me, or anyone else. I believe there is a thing called the right to make your own decisions and there is no shame in thinking such thoughts as my own." He said in a straight tone before pausing finally. Tranquillus simply stood there speechless for a moment. She then looked as if she was crying, tears poured down her face.
"Oh Garroth. If only it were possible. I will be considered a traitor to my kind if I ever breed with you. I am sorry we cannot be engaged as partners either. Trust me, they will know even if we keep it a secret." She sobbed. Garroth stroked her head using his left claw. He knew she was right. If only everything wasn't this way...
