Space E-war

Where good and bad RPGs and E-wars go to die.

"Well, Serephir. I wish you luck on your venture. the craft you were given is of decent size. i've assigned a couple of skilled guards to help you, but the rest of the crew will be up to you to gather. the vessel'll need about 5 more crew members to operate it, and 8 at optimum conditions. with the speed of your craft, you should probably be kept out for a couple of years at the most. however, we have constant radio contact so, should anything happen, let us know. Good luck" said Aleron, Serephir nodding as he held out a hand, shaking his, saying "Things should go smoothly. Afterall, this is fairly modern technology i'm using. i think it could handle the travel fairly well. I'll see you in a couple of years, provided everything goes according to plan". he then turned and walked out of the office, his cloak swaying from side to side. he closed the door behind him and headed for his own home...

He turned the lock on his apartment and walked in. the cream carpet contrasted with the deep red walls, the white leather chairs and couches in the living room giving the atmosphere a cool but welcoming feel. the bedroom had black walls, a white ceiling and carpet, the dark reddish rosewood bed covered with a cool white silk blanket, black sheets below it and plush, red pillows and cushions completing the effect. on either side of the king sized bed were a pair of oval bed side tables, a lamp on one along with a novel, while the other one carried a small digital alarm clock, the time showing in what looked like a levitating bubble of liquid, rich green numbers showing within. next to it was an oval phone, plugged into the main transmitting part of it by the base, the phone itself being a wireless black thing with a stainless steel front, the numbers built into it in to form a circle. he looked over at a large windowsill, looking out over the city below. he looked down at a picture on his cream coloured desk, where numerous papers were stacked in neat piles, on top of which was the VAMCEB logo on a leather cover. he picked the picture up and looked at it, a younger, late teen to early twenties version of him along with a brown haired woman by his side, the couple hugging eachother while smiling. a faint smile came onto his face as he remembered the days before the great war that had resulted in the destruction of the Empire and the Rise of the free Constitutional Monarchy that was Vardia today. he sighed as he put the picture down and turned to his closet, getting out numerous outfits, mostly VAMCEB uniforms, along with a few other outfits, including a couple of pairs of black trousers, a pair of jeans, several T-shirts, a few long sleeved shirts, a trenchcoat, a suit jacket and matching trousers and a thick, winter trenchcoat. he picked out one of the VAMCEB uniforms, identical to the one he was wearing now, and put it aside, as he hit a button, the clothing being drawn into the closet's side, a mechanical whirring being heard. Serephir closed the closet, removed his swords and headed for the bathroom to washup before he travelled...this was going to be a new experience for him. he had only ever been to the numerous moons and satellites of Vardia, and one planet not too far from Vardia. his Second in Command, Aragren was among the few people he knew who was used to constant space travel. he began to think of how it would feel to be away from his home planet for two years...

An hour later, Serephir was getting himself ready. his Exo-skeleton was on, on top of which was the Battlesuit, with the VAMCEB Trenchcoat on top, the Commander cloak on top of it. he had attached his three swords in their appropriate places, had his side arm strapped to his left thigh and had his machinegun on his back below the outfit, in it's own special holster attached to the third sword's sheath, right on top of the battlesuit, under the trenchcoat. he was now geared to go. picking up his suitcase, he headed for a Transport Gate across from the bed, looking back at his apartment one last time with a sigh as he turned, walking through the gate...

The Space Port was bustling with activity. it appeared curiosity of traders over the cargo that had been taken to Ka' Roll had drawn in a good deal of activity to the planet. good were being sold to inter-planatary traders for high prices, and they took it to other worlds for even higher prices, meaning both sides profited. Serephir walked down dock 4, spotting a medium sized silver craft, probably about 200 feet in length. The craft, named Endeavour, was to be his for the extent of the journey. it had been constructed with parts very similar to those found on various inter-planetary transport ships, to make it easier to repair. numerous high ranking VAMCEB agents were there, guarding it."Hey guys. how's life?" said Serephir as he walked up to the entrance to the craft, put down the case and shook the hands of his comrades. "Hey Serephir. life's typical. dull as ever. there isn't any action going on. you know how it is" said one of them, a VAMCEB soldier who went by the nickname "Blaze". "Well, i'm looking for a crew to help man this thing. perhaps you'd like to join?" said Serephir. "What? Me?! join your crew?!" said Blaze in disbelief. "Sure. why not? you have anything as far as assignments go?" Serephir responded. "N...no! not at all!" said Blaze. "Good. in that case, report to The Director and inform him that you'll be accompanying me. you have 3 hours to gear up and get moving. with the silence lately, The Director's rather free, so i don't think you'll have much trouble getting things done" said Serephir. "Alright! i'll be back in a flash. don't leave without me!" said Blaze, as he rushed off to get things ready. Serephir chuckled. "Excitable isn't he?". "Yeah. Blaze is always quick to get into a situation where he can show off. he wants to become the head of VAMCEB one day. it's only natural he'd get excited when he's invited to practically work side by side with the current leader" said one of the other VAMCEB guards, one of Serephir's direct subordinates, Drake, the third in command, a large, well built man with smooth, brushed back fine black hair. Serephir chuckled. "Is that so? i wonder how he'll react when he finds out i'm the same as everyone else" he said. "That's just it though. as far as he's conscerned, you're NOT like everyone else. you know, the stories..." said Max, the third of the VAMCEB guards, and Drake's subordinate. rough spikey brown hair, wearing combat-style trousers, a tank top and black leather fingerless gloves. "Oh, yeah. the Stories" said Serephir with an amused tone. "Well, i have to go gather the rest of the "crew". either of you guys want to join in?" he asked. Drake and Max shook their heads. "No can do, Serephir. i don't like the hassle of ship life, and two years is too long" said Drake, Max nodding. "we have a month of paid leave coming up, and if anything, I want to enjoy it doing a full tour around Vardia, see the sights, enjoy the attractions in some of the cities. you know. the fun stuff. not get locked up on a big metal lump for a couple of years" Max said with a shrug, Serephir nodding. "Your loss. anyway, i'll talk to you guys later. right now i have a crew to collect" he said. the nearby cafes were usually frequented by skilled crew men without ships. people who didn't like working on large transport craft he was bound to find some good crew members there...

OOC: profile posted

Thara's eyes shifted around, glanceing at the faces of every man to pass, getting many strange looks... He sighed and ran his hand over the top of his head, brushing his ears back, squinting through the heat... He stretched out, leaning up against a crate in the busy space port, flipping a knife in throughout his fingers, earning more stares from less expeirianced passer bys. He had arrived on Vardia a few weeks preveiously. He came along with a group of traders as an escort, they didn't require his services for returning so he decided to stay on here for awhile... His bag was lying on the ground next to him, holding pretty much his whole life inside it.... he had the strap curled around his foot though, no chance of it being stolen by anyone....

Admiral Kaine prepared for the assualt as he prepared to hyperspace towards his destination. He made sure reinforcements arrived to the blockaide and at the same time however there were other things required. He wasnt going to go in unprepared..

Still the use of ground forces at times were useless against the bugs at close range...unless the mined the ground beneath them and had anti aircraft weaponry against the flying ones and heavy artillary against the bigger ones, there was just too much complications. A single warrior was strong even if attacked by several troopers...

Regardless, they did have allies in the Elites...or at least they hoped. This mission was a chance to possibly unite the two forces while at the same time, decrease enemies while wiping out another one. Kaine however did not inform Revan yet but he was sure that he would personally see the 501st Armada arrived soon if he did..

Kepe, though amused that the Field General had figured out how to use their comm system which was very complex to a human mind. Still it did not matter so much...

Serephir walked into one of the local bars, knowing some of the better crew had a habit of hanging out here. walking up to the bartender, he asked about people looking for a ship and Commander. he pointed at a Koultian standing outside, leaning against a crate. he was said to be a bounty hunter. he went outside, surprised by the lack of crew so far, but knowing there were several other places in the area where he could get good crew. walking up to the Koultian, he said "you the one that goes by the name of Thara?" he said as he leaned back against the building's wall, a few feet away from the Koultian...

Thara turned a green, inspecting eye to the man speaking to him. He was sure he recognised the face, but not from where... He growled in a low tone "Who wants to know?" He wasn't saying anything till he knew who he was and what he wanted.

"Serephir" he said simply. "Head of VAMCEB, the Specialised military force of Vardia. I'm looking for a crew for my own little venture into space. i hear you're a rather highly skilled freelancer" he added as he crossed his arms, waiting for an answer from the suscpicious Koultian...

Thara smiled, likeing where the conversation was going... He said "Oh? What are we talking about here? Length... Work involved..." He didn't mention pay yet. Employers tended to get frisky around the mention of money.

"Well, we could call it a two year cruise around the galaxy, more or less. just to get some experience with the inhabitants and make some contacts...make an impression" said Serephir, the faintest hint of a mischievous smile underlining his words. "small crew, small amount of work. most of the stuff is done automatically. but i need a competent crew with good heads on their shoulders to hang around as well"...

Thara smirked, examineing one of his claws. He growled "Well it boils down to this... Whats in it for me? " He flicked the knife in his hand again before flicking the blade down and putting it into a pocket, folding his arms in waiting...

"Hmm...decent pay, some powerful ties on Vardia, the chance to get something other than the regular escort mission, among other things" said Serephir with a smirk...

OOC: This planet is inhabbited by the Arachnids, but isn't a major planet. I remember seeing DM say that they had many planets under their control, so correct me if I'm wrong...

The massive space dwelling creature had a planet in its sights, a fairly large planet that was young, the creature able to feel the energy from the planet, its large black eyes staring unblinkingly at the planet. As he neared its atmosphere, the only thing he could see were small-to him, at least-multi-legged creatures, many burrows dotting the planet. There were ruins nearby, of an abandoned civilization, but it didn't care. As it landed, the creature's legs slamming against the surface, crushing whatever was below it, its head reaching far up in the atmosphere, its two largest tenticles slamming into the surface, snaking their way toward the center of the planet, beginning to feed off of its energy...

Thara grinned, holding up an 8 fingered hand to shake and saying "Well I think you have yourself a deal my freind... I persume we can negotiate the terms later?" He didn't care what the deal was. A voyage with a bunch of VAMCEB soilders sounded like alot more fun than sitting around on this dust bowl...

Arachnids swarmed from the burrows, not deterred by the immense size of the creature attacking the planet. It was a minor planet for the Arachnids, and therefore had no Brain Bug. As a result, the Arachnids living on the planet were not too smart, but fearless. Tankers and Warriors clambered up the two tentacles of the beast, biting and burning them viciously.

The creature didn't even notice, its skin too thick to be damaged by the constant attacking. Soon the planet began to show signs of the feeding's effects, its surface drying up slightly. After the process was complete, the planet wouldn't have any way to support life, or even keep an atmosphere. The creature shook its massive head, clouds of white forming from the movement, slowly covering the area around it. After a few minutes, the Arachnids stopped their attack, turning and charging mindlessly after their allies, some falling off the tenticles and to their death without stopping, mercilessly attacking the other Arachnids...

The Arachnids, already mindless, were too busy fighting each other to bother with the monster that was draining their planet...

The creature was now pumping a constant stream of geothermal energy into his system, using it as food, water, and nutrients. Soon the planet could offer no more energy without collpasing it, which the creature instinctively knew to prevent, not wanting to risk injury. Suddenly it lept off of the planet-pushing the ground further down, creating a crater-once again in the vaccum of space, leaving the Arachnids to fight with themselves on the dying planet. The creature slowly drifted in space, passing many planets, not needing to feed for a few days, passing a bright planet, seeing water and land aswell as many ships passing around it, the creature not paying any attention to the smaller creatures...

"This is the Executor Class Star Dreadnought, "Reaper" we are the Imperial Reinforcements...we've arrived to help..." The transmission appeared back for Kepe's flagship as the Imperial Fleet arrived as Admiral Kaine appeared in charge of the reinforcements, hoping to help his friend..

Armed with a single Executor Class Star Dreadnought along with various ships from the infamous Imperial Class star Destroyers to the new Imperial Class Super Star Destroyers as others such as the Tartans and Broadside cruisers and Acclamtor ships for support..

The spores were being fired on as soon as the fleet had arrived...they trusted the Elites would not fire back on them and at the same time, they moved closer to the planet as they planed to launch their ground assualt..

"This is Fleet Commander Kepe, and as of this moment we are official allies, we do need help in removing the threat. We are letting you send in your fighters to engage the enemy across our planet." Said Kepe to the Flagship of the Imperial Army...

The ambush was unleashed. A fleet of Space Bugs appeared out of hyperspace behind the Imperial ships. They were much more accurate at jumping out of space than non-organic "ships" were. THey opened fire immediately, their red energy beams ripping vast holes in the enemy cruisers.

On the surface, Plasma Bugs opened fire on the new arrivals, trapping both the Sangheili and Imperial fleets in a deadly crossfire. The Plasma Bugs were protected on the ground by swarms of Warriors and Tankers, among other Arachnid forces. Nothing on the ground could touch them.
