Coldeyes nodded and walked away, with Robinflight at his side "The usual patrol cats" Coldeyes thought outloud with a quiet growl. "Daggertooth and his siblings, Snowstar's kits and Nightclaw. Anyone you'd like to add?" He asked Robinflight, looking to his partner

[The Kingpin]

"It's up to you" growled Wraith. "Snowstar and I are going there to find out what we can" he explained as he continued to groom himself and tend to his wounds. "Just thought i'd let you know, seeing as you had problems with your grandfather a while back"...

[Hopeflower]

Robinflight shook his head. "You named everyone I would've suggested," he meowed.

Demontalon felt like her head was spinning with the revelation. "I-I..." She took a deep breath and tried to sort out her conflicting thoughts and emotions. After a moment of consideration, she mewed, "I want to come. I know the Dark Forest, at least a little...and I need to put my fear of Tigerclaw behind me. Not to mention an extra set of claws won't hurt if things come to a fight."

[The Kingpin]

Wraith eyed the cat seriously, his amber gaze seemingly looking right through her with it's intensity. "You're sure about this, Demontalon?" he growled...

[Hopeflower]

"Yes, I'm sure," Demontalon mewed, some of the shake fading from her voice.

[The Kingpin]

"Alright. In that case, let's not waste any more time" he growled. "Snowstar! summon Cloudhaze. it's time we paid the Dark Forest a visit"

[C S]

"Then Im gone" Coldeyes mewed before breaking off from Robinflight. "Daggertooth, Obsidian, Flightclaw, Windslash,Riverstone, Mudswirl, Hawkclaw, and Nightclaw!" He yowled. "Get ready for a patrol!" He passed Fogcloud. He glanced at the gray tom, giving him a thoughtful look for a second before looking straight. He still had to scold him for lazing about the clan, him turning his back on a leader just made it worse. As far as he was concerned, Fogcloud was no better than the rogues staying in the clan.

The former Deathclan cats fell into their usual formations, while Riverstone and Mudswirl followed suit.

Snowstar stepped into view not too long later, Cloudhaze by his side. "So this is what you meant?" She mewed to the white tom. He simply nodded, preparing himself for the confrontation.

Wraith lay where he stood, in his nest, the black leader preparing for the event...



Nightclaw perked his ears as he heard Coldeyes call him. he walked towards the entrance, preparing for the patrol...

[Hopeflower]

Hawkclaw bounded across the camp to join the patrol as though worried she'd be left behind.

Robinflight nodded and moved off to take up a position close to the camp entrance, his ears pricked and his eyes fixed on the forest beyond.

Demontalon's long claws slid into view and it took a bit of effort to sheathe them again. She was nervous - she'd have been stupid not to be - but Snowstar and Wraith would need someone with them who knew a bit about the Dark Forest. And if they were attacked, she could fight. Her lips twisted wryly. Tigerclaw himself trained me to fight like one of them, after all, she thought with just an edge of bitterness. She lowered herself onto one side, the end of her tail flicking back and forth restlessly.

Snowstar stepped into his nest and laid on his side in the mound, tucking his paws close and curving his back to fit into it. There were still some poppy seeds in the den- and having eaten a few when he got the medicene cat- he was ready.

[The Kingpin]

Wraith consumed a few of the remaining poppy seeds before resting his head, closing his eyes as he relaxed himself...

[Hopeflower]

Demontalon licked up two of the poppy seeds and rested her chin on her paws. She wasn't looking forward to it, but there was no turning back now.

Cloudhaze sat, watching as the three cats drifted off to sleep, ready to wake each one up should things go wrong...

Demontalon found herself standing in a grassy field, staring out over the border of the Dark Forest and StarClan's land. She took a deep breath, looking around for Snowstar and Wraith. "StarClan help us," she found herself muttering. "Watch over us and guide us as you have done all our lives."

[The Kingpin]

Wraith glanced around at his surroundings. he was in the fields of Starclan. before him was a massive fog, and darkness beyond. "Time to pay old Stormsoul a visit...I wonder what he'll say" growled Wraith, mostly to himself. he caught sight of Demontalon after a few seconds, walking over to his former apprentice...

[Hopeflower]

Demontalon nodded to acknowledge Wraith, still waiting for Snowstar to join them before she dared set paw over the border.

Snowstar sat by the wall of rolling fog beyond the edge of Starclan's tranquil fields. Here he was, right in the middle of where his present and past were. Loneclaw, Hawksight and Eaglekit sat in the light of stars, while his parents and rest of his clan sat in darkness. What laid beyond this point was a mystery, but he was willing to face it for the good of his clan...

Wraith caught sight of Snowstar, growling "Let's get moving. Stick together". and with that, he began to walk into the veil of fog and mist...

Demontalon took a deep breath and stepped over the border. She shivered, memories of coming to train with Tigerclaw flooding over her. Walking at her former mentor's shoulder, she could almost forget that she was going into the Dark Forest and pretend that this was just another training session. But the chill that began to affect everyone in the Dark Forest after a while began to seep into her fur the further she walked. There was no light from the moon here, and the paths were lit by the eerie, faint glow of fungus. Movements twitched constantly at the corner of her vision, but she knew better than to get distracted. There was no prey here. The cats here didn't need to eat or sleep.

Wraith's eyes narrowed, senses on alert. he had never been to the Dark Forest before...but the stories he had been told were enough...he knew of the dangers. within the shadows roamed the worst cats the forest had ever known. His grandfather had teetered between good and bad deeds. horrendous actions and incredible shows of kindness. but in the end, his service to Brokenstar had brough him here. perhaps fate would decide that they should meet here....or perhaps he really had seen his grandfather for the last time when he was a kit, all those seasons ago...
