Nguvu simply began to laugh. Shadow eyed him, not quite knowing how to respond, the rest of the pride in a similar state of confusion. "I....I am the fool? I, the only one amongst you that saw the potential in our father's plan, am the fool? Well then. Answer me this. What became of our pride?" rumbled Nguvu. "They saw fit to leave. A lone lion had passed through our borders and apparently had some very persuasive opinion. apparently more persuasive than my own. they decided they would do better with that lion than with us, and would not acknowledge the presence of the lions in their midst. I decided that since they were so blind as to ignore the life i was providing for them, they were not worth it. The lionesses of my current pride however...they are wiser. They see the glory of what i have the potential to give. they know the strength of lions like us will only bring them benefit. much more so than the elderly fool that used to lead them. I itch to see what has become of the fools of our old pride" responded the black lion with a sly smirk. "Had you listened to Shujaa, our pride would have remained united. we would've been the strongest pride that had ever walked these plains!" responded Nguvu. "You really believe Shujaa cared for the pride that much? he only cared about power. it is in a lion's nature to challenge those around him for power. his defeat and exile was inevitable. had you been wiser you would have seen that as well...and stood at my side" responded the black lion firmly, a series of growls and snarls of agreement coming from the others in the pride. "I do not stand by traitors. the only reason Jino and Kubwa are still with you is because they still haven't seen you for what you truely are" snarled Nguvu with a dismissive wave of his paw. "It's obvious you're angered, Nguvu. I can understand that. those grand and great stories our father told us about the mighty pride that would stand forever, free of fear, unchallengeable. it was a wonderful dream. but that, i'm afraid, was simply Shujaa's tool to try and tie his sons down, so that he had others to do his work for him later on. so he could enjoy a long life as leader of the pride, enjoying it's benefits. go into old age without the hardships all elder lions have to face...die amidst those who served him. He never cared about how we would feel about living most of our lives serving him, rather than leading our own prides" responded Shadow, his tone seemingly sympathetic. "Where is our pride?" growled Nguvu, ignoring his brother's words. he was sickened by his brother's behaviour. how his tone hid an underlying mockery of his father's plans. what sickened Nguvu even more, was that his brother was somewhat right. "West. beyond the jungles and forests" growled Shadow simply. "Give yourself time to consider the way things work, Nguvu. I'll be waiting for your return" growled Shadow, putting on the show of the forgiving leader, gaining a few glances of respect amongst his pride, though Nguvu knew very well the moment he let his guard down in that pride he would be killed because of the threat he posed. "If you ever see me again Maovu...it'll be the LAST thing you ever see" he growled, turning West. "Oh. Nguvu.....you never DID introduce me to your friends. I'm sure they'd feel insulted not to be mentioned, at all" commented Shadow with a sly smirk, Nguvu shooting a dangerous glance at his older brother, before glancing at Uzuri and Amani, as if actually checking the possible truth in his brother's words, wanting to know what the two lionesses thought. if they wanted a say in the matter...
"Ah yes, organised chaos. the sign of a clever but ever-busy mind. To the perpetrator, a carefully woven web of belongings and intrigue, but to the bystander? Madness!"
