The robots balled their hands into fists, the Matter Assemblers mounted on them firing at the incomplete walls. Numerous robots colaberated in their efforts, adding to the construction. Gradually the walls were being built up in the bright white spiralling beams, each builder working on specific sections of wall. The beams made a crackling noise, distinct from that of the spire energy cannons. It sounded almost like a welder's torch, but no sparks were created when the beams were fired. They simply reassembled broken down matter in ways to create new material that was different than what was harvested. Progress was varied, with parts of the wall being taller than others, but it would come together in the end.

The recruits nodded, going into another room and begin grabbing assault rifles as asked by Ryan. Anders, on the other hand, took the other guys who already worked at the firing range and took them to the training course for practice...

Eventually the basic shape of the base was completed, a vaguely retangular perimeter with a domed roof. As of now, the building was just an empty husk, with circular spaces in various places. Doors would be constructed at the gaps and machinery would be added. The mechs were now clustered around the building, waiting for the next phase of construction. Moving down the Foidaria's ramp were treaded vehicles, larger than the harvesting scout. The vehicles' main chasis was box like in shape, with the front extended outwards a foot in length. They lacked windows and were fitted with the familiar black and white armor. Behind them were containers, also fitted with treads. Black metal rails ran down their length. Inside them were components for the base. The vehicles pulled up along side the base, disconnecting the containers before driving into the base itself. The containers deployed after, the metal casing splitting apart, revealing giant machinery and other components. The mechs walked over to the component transports and put their metal hands onto the large peices of machinery. They lifted them up and started to move them towards the base, preparing for the installation.

"Ok, listen up! you boys should already know how to do this! However, things are changing, as you're about to test your CQC skills!" Anders shouted out to the soldiers in the room, before saying, "you may begin." The soldiers almost instantly stormed into the "building" they were using, the lead two blowing down "hostile" targets with their shotguns as they rushed inside, making sure to clear every course. Harrison, on the other hand, was having difficulty keeping the rookies firing directly at their designated targets, most bullets getting stuck in the wall at the back of the range itself...

"Unidentified vessel detected" The Iopteryx's radar operator reported. "Energy signiture doesnt match any logged in the ship's data base. The Hai'Orak havent encountered a craft of this type before" Another Orakian reported, hands clattering away at the keys at its console. "Mask the Iopteryx's energy signiture and adjust our heading. This craft will not go unnoticed by the Hai'Orak for long, we will asses this new find" The ship's captain commanded, the Orakians at the bridge doing as they were told. The ship adjusted its course slightly, a white hot plume of flame bellowing out of the ship's main thruster. With its energy signiture masked, it would be difficult for other craft to distinguish it from a fast moving celestial body unless visual contact was made...

Soon, one crew member began picking up detections of unknown craft far off in the distance before saying, "uh, captain? I think we've got a problem?" "What is it, Jimmy?" Morris asked as he got from his chair and walked over to the man. "Unidentified craft is showing up in the distance, sir. I got no clue what to do right now!" the startled kid exclaimed in a somewhat high voice, as Ina requested, "captain, can't we try contacting these beings? They may understand us in the first place, and we could get some needed help from them..."

As the Iopteryx caught up with the Savannah, the Orakians at the bridge started to input data about the ship into the vessel's logs. The ship's measurements were taken, images were stored and basic statistics, such as cruising speed were being added to the Iopteryx's data banks.

"Yup, definitely a ship, sir," the young man had said, the scanner of infront of him picking up signatures of life aboard it. Ina soon began to try and make contact with the ship's crew, saying several times, "hello? If you can hear me, please state your reasons for coming to us..."

"They are trying for contact" An Orakian said, another adding "They do not seem hostile"
"Do we respond?" One asked. "No," Said the captain. "I'd like to see how they deal with our pressence. In the mean time, continue to scan their vessel. Record biosignitures as well as energy signitures. Try to locate the craft's weapons if it has any"
Wordlessly, the Orakians on the bridge did what they were told, their attention locked on their consoles

Ina continued trying to make contact, her computer-like voice speaking out to the crew aboard the alien craft still. Crew members worked frantically to figure out what they were doing near The Savannah in the first place, but to no avail at all...

The Iopteryx continued to put off communications with the large craft, still scanning the vessel and adding to the data base. So far it was wasnt hostile. Apparently its captain and crew had a lot of patience to continue pressing for contact despite the silence.

Most of the defensive turrets were still hidden within the ship itself, only a few out along with the massive main gun, which was easy to spot on the front of the ship and hard to miss. The A.I. soon stopped trying to contact the ship, but the captain and crew kept trying despite the failing efforts. "Captain, it's not going to work," Ina said after a moment longer, but was basically ignored the entire time...

"Information stored. Threat assesment complete. Threat level minimal. High offensive capabillity. Ship integrity, minimal." One of the Orakians at the bridge reported. "It seems the ship has been without formal repairs for some time" It said, reffering to the engineers on the ship's hull that eyed the Iopteryx warilly. "A single unit?" The captain asked. "Then they are wise not to make enemies. Back to primary objectives" He said. Without saying the word, the Orakians at the bridge shifted the ship's heading once more, speeding off towards its destination.

Crew members watched the ship leave, soon stopping to try and signal them as they went back to their regular duties. Engineers continued on with their jobs, the massive ship they lived on far to big to repair all together...

The sheekh colonists make themselves at home as their dropships leave....

The sheekh legion soldiers and the planet's defenders guard the main city, with Hurgo in command of it all.....

"MOTHER" lays dormant until another mission is given to her to fulfill....

Rukh enters Grehn's atmosphere with the rest of his legion. Things were going smoothly so far. The empire had enough resources and planets to keep its monstrous population satisfied, and the defences of all but the newest one are at their peak..... although colony 4731 always seemed to have problems, even with its massive population of scientists and warriors.

A single, massive ship leaped out of Hyperspace on the edge of Sheekh-controlled space, heading towards their outermost colony world. The ship was long, sleek, and organic looking, mainly because it WAS organic. At least, partially...

As the ship enters atmosphere, is is greeted with a message:

"Halt, enemy ship! Enter Sheekh airspace and you risk angering the empire. We give you one chance to withdraw before you are destroyed."

The ship continued on flying through seemingly empty space, everyone going back to their regular work as they tried focusing on finding somewhere suitable to colonize. Anders monitored the soldiers from a platform as they trained, working through the course as fast and as best as they could the entire time...

The ship didn't respond with anything verbal, but it sent a signal to all nearby civilized areas. Every visual screen nearby lit up at once, showing the face of a green, sluglike entity with a mostly featureless face save a small black device connected to a breather in the center of its face and an artificial camera "eye" on the left side of its head. The creature looked over the screens for a moment, emitting a strange, guttural growl, before vanishing from the screens...

Simultaneously, dozens of smaller, semi-organic craft emerged from the belly of the cruiser, swarming down towards the planet below...

As if on cue, hundreds of lasers fire out from the colony, blasting a few of the craft out of the sky, before fighter class ships begin to fly off the surface of the planet....

colonists enter underground bunkers, while the legion placed on that planet readies for battle.........
