Where good and bad RPGs and E-wars go to die.

"I guess that's our best bet..." Charles said, heading over to the stairs without another word. He still had the gun drawn, still holding it awkwardly, hoping, at least, it would offer some protection against the horrors that might be waiting for them upstairs, if there was any left...

Alec closed the drawr he was going through and then walked around the desk behind Charles. He though about taking the lead, but if there was zombies upstairs, he wanted to see how good of a shot Charles was, assuming he wasnt much of one though. Still, nothing like expeirance to teach you

Charles crept slowly up the stairs, trying to move as slightly as he could, holding the handgun tight. He couldn't hear or see anything...yet...but zombies weren't exactly the obvious types all the time...

"Hey Amigos, what you in for, Arson or GTA?" came a voice as Jose walked out of one of the doors near the stairs. tanned, medium length black hair, a short mustache and an alert looking face were the first things you'd notice. a heavy, dark green tactical vest went over what seemed to be a black tank top, a medallion with an eagle on it hanging from his neck. he was wearing urban camouflage pants, around his leg was a long black holster-like object, which seemed to be of a mountain climbing or cave exploring type, which carried in it a small, fairly heavy axe. a shoulder strap he had only just acquired, hung a gun holster, his glock placed inside, the various clips hidden throughout his trouserlegs and in a few of the jacket's pockets. on his back, angled at one side to make it easier to reach, was the sledge hammer he had had with him since the day the outbreak occured. to it's side, supporting it with a couple of straps, was a bulky looking military green backpack. a pair of black boots and fingerless gloves completed the effect...

Alec shot around. He couldnt believe it. This by far, was the best day of his life since before the outbreak. "Amigo, we came here because it's the safest place I could think of! If we find a jail cell, it would be a blessing!"

Charles, not processes the noise as actual voices, immediately raised the gun and fired, the bullet crashing into a stack of cabinets, sending bits of paper raining down around the immediate area, not really aimed at anything. The kick of the gun was unexpected, causing Charles to fall back in surprise, thumping down a few stairs on his backside before stopping at the first landing. "Ow...f*cking...survivors..." he groaned, rubbing his head painfully, one hand still on the handgun...

"Jesus Charles!" Alec said, walking down the stairs. He offered a hand to the man and said "Trigger happy, now are we?" He grinned.

"Ow...sorry...nervous and all.." Charles said, grasping Alec's hand, standing. He rubbed his neck somewhat painfully with one hand, looking toward the new survivor...

"WOAH! Esse, chill! I like guns too, but dis aint no time to be takin random pot shots at ****, eh?" said Jose, who was staring at the mess caused by the loose bullet, an unfortunately placed picture of the city mayor now having a bullet hole in place of a nose. looking back at Alec though, he said "I wouldn't take the jail cells if i were you, holmes. the jail cells here are filled with corpses. zombies that literally starved to death. trapped since the start of the outbreak. fastest way to get infected is down there. but i think further down the hall there's one of those Weekend Cops' sleepin' quarters or something like that" said Jose as he jerked a thumb over his shoulder. "Good news is, so long as this building is currently clear of zombies, we're safe. only two ways in and out of here. one of them goes through the basement and past the jail cells. i closed off that entrance myself. only one left is the main, then whatever pendejo zombie that's in here, if anything IS in here, is what's been here for several hours before us, at least" he added...

Charles said nothing, somewhat annoyed by the newcomer's easy attitude toward the situation. With what had happened that night, it wasn't the time for jokes...Charles still believed the place to be unsafe, considering the almost constant attacks against them...

"Oh, those ********...i saw them a few weeks ago, a few blocks away. haven't seen them since though. been moving around for ages. i don't stay in one spot too long unless i'm guaranteed safety. no place is indefinately safe. just last week i saw this huge one that looked like it was wearing some kind of coat. man, that thing was ripping through monsters like fuckin tissue paper, holmes. i don't think anywhere's safe from that. we just have to hope it doesn't find us" said Jose, frowning as he tried to remember more details...

"Not sure about the nocturnals specifically, but after what i've seen, i wouldn't be surprised if it overpowered a small swarm of them without much trouble. it just won't go down. I saw it take on a beast at least one and a half times it's size. really huge *******. coulda been some zoo animal or something at one point, maybe a bear. it got killed so fast it was embarassing" said Jose. he shuddered at the memory. "But we can't think about that now, holmes. no time. it's dark, and the more time we waste now, the less we'll have in the morning to look for food stocks. i'm on my last couple of cans and i've been too busy looking for a safe place to stay i haven't had time to look for supplies"...

Alec took off his book bag and unzipped it when he put it down on the stair behind him. "I got some corn, mashed potatos and some gravy..and some other stuff under those, like the school mystery meat...ah mystery meat....t'was such a mystery...good times..."

"This is interesting and all, but unless I want to be face down on a desk in 5 minutes, I'm going to find somewhere to sleep. If you guys want to go somewhere safer, throw a shoe at me." Charles stated somewhat aggressively, not exactly in the best of moods because of his exhaustion. Finding a relatively intact desk, Charles sat down on a chair, gun still in hand, resting his feet on the desk, trying to shut out the others' talking...

"He's right man" Alec said nodding. He zipped up his bag. "Imma go see if I can the bed rooms here" He put the bag onto his back again and went upstairs, going down the hall when he got there. There were bed rooms here, though one had a broken windowsill, and in need of barrication. Alec couldnt see much supplies to barricade it through, then it hit him. "Yo, mexicano, can you come up here? We need to patch up this hole here!"

Jose headed towards where the guy was calling him from, reaching the room and spotting the window. "Ah...any ideas?"...

"Well, we could use that bed-" Alec said, glancing to the bed covered in a blue comforter that had the NYPD emblem on it, the golden sheild with the letters in a darker shade of the picture to make it look engraved. "And roll it over then put it against the wall"

"There's a file cabinet in the office a little way down the hall. we could put it at an angle against the bed to give it more support" said Jose, as he walked over to the bed and pulled against it, finding it surprisingly light. "Something tells me we're gonna need more than this to barricade the window, holmes"...
