Space E-war

Where good and bad RPGs and E-wars go to die.

Serephir followed Thara, looking around at the panic and desertion in some areas. it brought back bad memories, but he ignored them, instead keeping his mind on the currently pressing matter...to sort out his problems and getting himself an account that he can use outside of Vardia...he wondered how he'd manage to transfer money from his own account to this one...he made a mental note to contact Vardia via inter-planetary satellite transmission when he got back on the Endeavour...

There was a loud poping sound from the center of the city... Suddenly, a huge red shield fizzled into place above the city and around it.. protecting it against the swarm outside... at least, for now... Several OWL gunships moved in against the cappilary tower attacking the planetary cannon, pounding it with their heavy cannons, mounted on their feet.

The controller switched vision modes, acciedently createing a currupt file in suprise at seeing the creature. It swiftly locked down the section of the spaceport containing the creature, contacting the military....

More and more hiveships were being taken out of the sky... but it wasn't enough...

The general ordered "Ai, authorise use of Syn-arma, omega strain..... Don't make me regret this choice..."

Suddenly, a massive suited human landed with a heavy thud next to Thara, a gattleing gun built into his wrist. The soilder walked in saying outloud "Secureing spaceport. Snipers in place and tracking targets" Another soilder landed onto the space ports roof, sprinting foreward like a blur, leaping off again, makeing his way towards the planetary cannon...

The swarm hardly paused. Snakelike Raveners immediately took to the underground, making burrows into the city. Even as smaller Tyranids swarmed through, the Raveners slowly widened the holes. The smaller troops would only be a distraction for something much, MUCH worse...

The capillary towers lashed out at the OWLs, their massive tentacles smashing the bots out of the sky.

Spikeblade looked around, still on the prowl for any targets to vent his rage at being trapped.

The Hive Fleet slowly pushed forward, deflecting energy blasts and still firing away. Not letting up, they disgorged another spore wave, though this one was slightly smaller.

OOC: They are gunships, they fly, hence the name OWLs :P

Kimravian soilders arrived at the sites of the holes, their weapons mowing down the Tyranids, their targeting systems aiming for the weak points as discovered in previous battles against the Tyranids. One soilder landed onto the ground, running across the grass towards the hole fireing his rifle towards a large tyranid currently trying to push its way out of the hole... He leapt into the air, jumping over the hole and slinging a cylndrical grenade downwards into the hole.... The directed blast blowing the creatures legs off and surgeing down the tunnel to kill the rest of the tyranids within it.... The many open grassy areas of Kimrav made movement easy for the defenders. most of the civilians were already indoors, makeing it even easier...

A single missile dodged its way towards the fleet of hive ships, avoiding stray shots between the warring fleets... it silently crashed into the surface of one ship... Injecting its contents into the fleshy mass.... Instantly a field of rotting flesh spread out from where the missile had struck... The Syn-arma biological disease muliplying and takeing over every cell it came in contact with... Within moments, the entire ship had simply rotted, breaking a part into a cloud of mangled flesh.... The cloud engulfed nearby ships... the horrible disease infecting them aswell.... Their flesh rotting away....

Thara was thankfull... there was alot of soilders nearby and they weren't far from some Gunships....

"Where to, Thara?" said Serephir as he followed onwards. Meanwhile, Blaze was looking up in awe, almost stopping if it weren't for Serephir dragging him along like a light bag as Blaze watched the battle above, flashes of light coming from the Kimravian fleet while the alien fleet seemed to be breaking apart...

OOC: Edited.

The Tyranids weren't through yet. Despite the lack of a fleet, Synapse creatures could still keep the ground battle going. Soon, Raveners burst from the earth... directly in a crowd of civilians. Scythe arms flailing, they impaled and dragged screaming people down the holes, and hordes of Gaunts surged out, sowing chaos and confusion amongst the civilians that still remained outside.

Outside, the soldier was hit by an incandescent bolt of green lightening, the shot from a flying Gargoyle's Bio-Plasma. The soldier fell, landing in the midst of the hungry swarm outside, still thousands strong. They rolled over the unfortunate human, easily ripping through his armor and tearing him limb from limb in a mad frenzy.

it was a horrible massacre. Civilian and soilder deaths were unavoidable, but that didn't make it any better. The Tyranid numbers were dropping rapidly, the beasts being annhilated by the force of the weapons used against them.... A squad of sentinals went after the raveners attacking the civilians. The squid like machines tearing limbs off the snake like raveners and attempting to dislocate their brains....

Any attacked Raveners disappeared as quickly as they had appeared. The only thing that came back out were streams of Venom Cannon fire, which blew Sentinels apart and melted their armor. More Gaunts poured through, dragging down civilians, soldiers, and Snetinels with sheer weight of numbers. Flying Gargoyles clambered their way through the tunnels then took to the sky of the city, using their Fleshborers to fire voracious beetles at hapless targets. Carnifexes, varying in almost every way, pushed out of the holes, their heavy armor preventing any major damage. They used scythes, claws, maces, spines, and bio-weapons to mow down defenders.

Serephir turned to look back at the beasts emerging from the earth nearby, freezing for a moment and staring at them, as dozens of them suddenly jerked from their place and collided with eachother in mid air, forming a ball of Tyranids of all sorts, in mid air that grew bigger and bigger, before suddenly being crushed so tight they exploded in a storm of blood, Serephir turning his back on them as Blaze stared on in awe. "What the hell" he mumbled...

OOC: That wasn't the best idea, KP. :P

Sensing a psychic presence from Serephir, a voice screeched in his head, "Prepare to meet your fate, PREY!"

Suddenly, the Tyranids stopped attacking. They retreated back down the tunnels, and all was silent for a moment. Arqueek paused, feeling the presence in his head even more strongly. He grabbed his throbbing skull, groaning...

A blue glow emanated from one of the holes, and static seemed to grow around the tunnel entrance as something loomed closer...

A ring was formed around the circle... civilians and soilders alike stareing into it... Thara was stareing at Serephir, wondering what in gods name had he done... A single soilder steped foreward sheepishly and droped a grenade into the tunnel before walking back to the edge of the circle...

Serephir kept going, his hands crossed across his chest and holding onto the hilts of his swords, saying "I think it's time we got moving, don't you?"...

The grenade exploded, but nothing happened. No screech, no nothing. Instead, a horrid creature FLOATED out. It's long, snakelike body had six pointed limbs, atrophied to the point where they were useless. It levitated a few feet off the ground, its massive head Xenomorph-like in appeared. Its lips parted in a perpetual scowl, and everyone seemed to to be stunned. Some ran, some broke out in tears, and a soldier tried to fire, but the shots dissipated before even getting near it. A blue field appeared around the Zoanthrope's body, before fading once more. A psychic field...

Arqueek, growled through gritted teeth, "Kill... it... The pain..."

The sector 4 imperial world had been conquered by the tyranids and they ran rampant across the rest of the planet, the great living spires sprouting up with each new underground hive completed and the surface beings laid to waste. Clouds of toxic gases eminating from the tunnel networks, screams of victims not yet fed upon echoed within, and with no living thing in sight for miles. Random Carnifexes wandered the new wasteland amongst decayed plantlife and ruined cities. Flocks of gargoyles patrolled the skies for signs of life to feed upon but the world was becoming a barren husk and they would hvave to leave sooner or later.

Meanwhile the spores jetted through space to the other imperial sectors. Some several hundred of those spores and pods finding there way to Sector 3 as they headed stormed across the empty void to bring hell once again to another world.

"After we stop them...we have to glass sector four to make sure nothing came underground, its happened before, then gurantee safety to sector one, two and three and then counter attack" Piett said, adressing General Veers and other officers on board the Annihilator.

Meanwhile the Imperial Forces were getting ready, ion cannons were useless against such foes so the hypervelocity gun along with the plantary shield on the base had to be stronger. To deal with forces that would were underground..another weapon was to be used. Imperial Troopers were aware as the walls had to be stronger and was getting constantly worked on so more weapons can be used. The plantary shield would prevent enemies from coming in through outside but left underground open which meant they had to prepare for that. Mines were being around the base..Imperial Troopers quickly withdrew as there was hundreds of troopers armed and waiting as the space station and fleet above would get first shots.

The 501st Armada, led by the Annihilator which was in the middle between sector two and three prepared for enemy assualt and help defend the two planets. As for Sector one, more ships quickly moved in for aid..Admiral Harper who was in command of the Executor Class Star Dreadnaught might have an apperance, leaving command to Admiral Kaine who tried to help sector four but withdrew due to a damaged Reaper.

The spores and pods were in sight now as they came screaming at the planet at high speed.

"Long Range Scanners are detecting enemy forces..fighters prepare for combat. Hostilslty detected, batteries at full power" The message went off in every Imperial Ship and Space station in the three sectors.

Revan crossed his arms and awaited eyeing the holographic map, poised to direct the battle from the massive 30 mile flagship, the Executor Class Star Dreadnought. As soon as they came out. a massive swarm off firepower would shell the incoming forces. From ships to the space stations..they were getting ready. The troopers on the ground were preparing, a shield surrounding their base as they prepared to unleash all sorts of weaponry, they were going to hold.

TIE Fighters, TIE Interceptors, TIE Phantoms and TIE Defenders were being unleashed, the elite TIE Squardons armed for combat. Ships poised to unleash hell.."Fire at will" The order was given to every single ship and TIE Squardons were given permission to leave the rules of engagement and do what is neccescry to secure the battle such as leaving the space battle to help ground forces was acceptable including green lights for all the weaponry.

Another green light was given for the ground forces and more would come from the ships in order to help..they hadnt made their apperance in this new galactic war yet but today would their introduction would prove useful..

Serephir looked at the creature irritably, before leaping from his position, going up several feet into the air towards a wall, kicking off of a building as he drew his blade, slashing across the creature, leaving a deep wound in it's armoured head as he kicked off of the wall behind it, landing on the roof of one of the buildings. "Why am i always the one fighting the overgrown ugly beasts? can't i get something a bit more pleasing to the eyes for once?" he grumbled...

The Zoanthrope didn't flinch, the scratch doing nothing. After a moment, blue electricity crackled around the beast, and before Serephir knew what was happening, he was standing at the edge of an infinite black abyss, tendrils coming from the depths below. Billions of voices, in perfect unison, gurgled, "We are the Great Devourer. The Hive Mind. You have sealed your fate, pathetic fool. You are nothing but food for us. Prey." In the real world, outside of Serephir's mind, he was simply standing there, and the Zoanthrope's electricity crackled even more strongly as it mentally attempted to torture him.

In the silence that followed, a Kimrav sniper raised his rifle, green light pulseing towards its barrel. The gun recoils backwards as a white bolt blasted foreward, smashing into the creatures exposed brain and causeing it to explode in a shower of brain fluid.
