Amani kept behind the rest of the group, keeping her focus on Kubwa the whole time. "Is he really on our side?" Amani thought to herself, her eyes still gazing on Nguvu's younger brother, Kubwa.

Nguvu watched the lion as he lead them. the tree line was coming into view, and nothing had appeared yet...

"What IS he DOING?" muttered Jino as he watched his brother from the shadows. Kuruk was curled up on the ground, difficult to identify, waiting for the signal from Jino. as they entered the tree line, Jino nudged the bear, the two rising. they were surprised when Kubwa stood in their way. the bear reared up, roaring, Nguvu's eyes narrowing at Jino and the bear. "Get out of the way, Kubwa!" snarled Jino as the bear began to move forward. "No, Jino. Enough is enough. Maovu's done too much. I won't et you kill Nguvu" responded Kubwa firmly. "Then you'll die trying to stop us!" responded Kuruk as he lunged, Jino's eyes widening, the bear's clawed arm being blown back as Nguvu lunged at it, catching the arm before it struck Kubwa and throwing the bear off balance, Kubwa leaping at Jino, Nguvu being knocked off the bear by a massive clawed paw as the bear regained it's balance, rearing up to kill Nguvu, the lion rolling to his feet and snarling violently, claws and fangs ready to take the attacker head on...

Kubwa and Jino were tangled, slashing and kicking at eachother, neither wanting to hurt the other but having no other choice...

Amani quickly circled around the massive bear, pounced onto it's back, and dug her claws deep into it's flesh. She started to try and bite at it's neck, hoping to give Nguvu some time to attack their opposition, finally getting a short lasted grip on it's neck...

Uzuri, running full-speed, let out an angered roar as she leaped, extending her claws. She scored a direct hit, her weight landing on the big bear's back beside her sister's and her claws digging into his left shoulder. She bit down on the side of his neck, trying to give Nguvu an opening to attack.

the bear fell forward onto it's front legs, the landing sending Amani and Uzuri rolling forward and off of him, sending them tumbling into Nguvu, leaving them in a pile on the floor. the bear snarled lowly as Nguvu scrambled to his feet and leapt at the bear, his broad, clawed paws slamming onto either side of the bear's head as he bit onto the snout, trying to buy Uzuri and Amani time to recover, the bear roaring and rearing up, ripping free, a series of slashes along the side of his face and a seriously injured snout being the result, the bear swinging a massive paw into Nguvu, blowing the lion sideways with horrifying ease...

As Amani started to recover from being ejected off the bear's back, she witnessed Nguvu get flung onto his side, a large clump of dust going upwards as he landed. The lioness suddenly growled at the bear as she charged at it, and quickly dodged to it's left flank, leaping onto it's humongous arm infront of her, glancing over to the fallen Nguvu, concerned he wouldn't get back up...

Uzuri roared furiously as she scrambled to her paws, leaping forward and crashing into the bear's stomach. A red haze clouded her vision. Claws tearing into the bear's underbelly in an attempt to do some damage or at least distract the bear. the only thought occupying her mind was Get up, Nguvu!

an angered snarl came from the bear as it swung it's free paw into Amani, knocking her off, 5 slashes along her flank, the bear looming down on Uzuri, arms arcing around as he came down, intent on killing her. at that moment, Nguvu slammed into the bear's side again, thrashing violently at the bear's flank and knocking it off balance, away from Uzuri. Kubwa leapt out of the bushes, hitting the bear's back as he reared up again, Nguvu and Kubwa mauling the bear violently, before being blown back by the angered bear. "ENOUGH!" roared the bear as he reared up, looking around at the lions. "Shadow's favour was not even a third of what he asked for in return...I concede...Just let me leave with my life" rumbled the kodiak, covered in wounds, Nguvu standing once more, a rumbling snarl in the lion's throat, a mild 5 claw gash on his left arm. "Leave, bear......but for your sake.....hope i never see you again" snarled Nguvu. Kubwa stood, fangs bared at the bear. The bear simply nodded, walking off into the jungle, silent. Nguvu rushed over to Uzuri. "Are you ok?" he growled, Kubwa hurrying over to Amani to see if she was ok...

"Yeah...fine," Uzuri growled, a little shaken but unhurt. "What about you?" she asked, concerned, turning to look for wounds on the male. "That looked like a nasty blow."

"We better not see that bear again," rumbled Amani, pulling herself off the ground. She noticed Kubwa rushing over to her, and glanced at Nguvu, who was asking her sister if she was ok. "I wonder what Nguvu's brother wants," she thought to herself, somewhat confused over why Kubwa was rushing over to her...

"You hurt?" growled Kubwa, genuine conscern in his tone. he felt guilty for everything that had just happened...the least he could do was try and show his conscern...

"I'll be fine" growled Nguvu assuringly, though he looked at his shoulder at the injury, giving it a few swift licks before beginning to move. "Amani, you ok?" he growled...

"I'm fine, don't worry," Amani growled, looking at Kubwa, before glancing over at Nguvu. "A few cuts aren't gonna stop me," the lioness grunted jokingly, still watching Kubwa and Nguvu.

Sharp Claw saw another cave off in the distance, appearing large and wide enough for a lone lion to fit in through the entrance, and possibly enough room for quite a few wolves and a lot of movement. "I think a found a cave suitable for you two," the wolf barked, still glancing over at the seemingly protected and uninhabited cave, before looking back towards Night and Lusa, waiting for a response...

Uzuri licked her lips, breathing a sigh of relief that her sister was mostly unhurt. "Well..." she growled. "That was fun. Let's not do it again."

Night glanced at Sharpclaw, twitching her ears questioningly.

"What? It's one of the best caves I've saw around here so far," Sharp growled, replying to Night's unspoken question. He started to trot over towards the edge of the cliff, going ahead of Lusa and Night.

"Yeah, let's just go back to what we were going to do," Amani rumbled, glancing over to Nguvu, then her sister. She looked off in the distance, and saw a small shape, possibly a bird, soar in the evening sky.

Kubwa nodded at the lioness' words, before heading back towards Nguvu. "Where's Jino?" growled Nguvu. "In the bushes. i knocked him out" responded Kubwa. "Bring him over here" rumbled the lion simply. Kubwa nodded, before walking into the bushes, returning moments later with the slim lion, his jaws holding firmly on the scruff of the thin lion's neck. Nguvu stepped forward, Kubwa stepping aside for the lion. a loud swat was heard as Nguvu hit the lion's face with a paw, keeping his claws sheathed. another two times resulted in a groan, Jino opening his eyes, staring up at Nguvu, eyes widening in fright. Nguvu snarled lowly as he put a paw on the lion's neck, pinning him down. "Listen very, very carefully, Jino" rumbled the lion as he lowered his head till it was inches from his younger brother's, his emerald green eyes having a fury in them that chilled him. "You're going to go back to mother's pride. you will let her do with you as she sees fit. and if i find out that you HAVEN'T done as you are told.....i'll hunt you down, break your legs, and leave you for the vultures to nibble on till you're nothing but a pile of bones........understood?" growled Nguvu, his tone so eerily calm you'd think he was telling Jino where to find a prize he had hidden, rather than giving him a death threat. Jino's eyes widened. "They'll kill me if i go back!" retorted Jino. "I'll kill you right here, if you preffer it that way. only difference is....if I kill you...it'll be alot slower and more painful.....we wouldn't want that......would we, Jino?" growled Nguvu. "Help me Kubwa! We're littermates! help me!" growled Jino, terrified. "Sorry Jino....Maovu has done too much....and it's obvious you haven't seen sense...I won't help you anymore" growled Kubwa lowly, looking down at his brother. "Now then....take your pick.....slow agonising death in the sun with broken legs? or let Maiara's pride do with you what they see fit?" growled Nguvu, satisfied by the terrified look in Jino's face. "Alright alright! I'll go!" responded Jino. "Like a good little cub. now. get moving" growled Nguvu as he lifted his paw, Jino scrambling to his feet and slinking off towards the territory, Nguvu watching the lion disappear in the distance...

Night followed cautiously, not wanting to get there and find it was already taken.

Uzuri watched Jino go through narrowed eyes, then turned to look at Kubwa and Amani.

As Sharp Claw quietly moved towards the cave entrance, he sniffed the air for any other scents other than his or Night's and Lusa's. He couldn't track any scents coming from the cave that the group was heading for. "Nothing's in there," Sharp growled, glancing back towards Lusa and Night, before continuing into the cave...

Amani glanced over at Uzuri, who was looking at her and Kubwa, not saying anything. "Uzuri, is something wrong?" Amani growled, asking her sister with a little bit of concern.

"Just thinking," Uzuri growled. Fixing her gaze on Kubwa, she growled, "It takes a lot of courage to turn on your own flesh and blood like that. It seems you're ten times the lion Maovu and Jino will ever be."

Night set Lusa down, taking a long sniff of her own. "Nothing but bats," she finally agreed, both surprised that such a desirable cave wasn't taken, and not surprised that she'd have to share it with bats for a while.

Kubwa lowered his head. "I don't know if i can ever make up for what i've done to my family under the leadership of that....that monster. but i intend to do my best. Nguvu....please forgive me" he growled sadly, guilt weighing heavy on him. "I may forgive you....but i can't speak for our father....you, Maovu and Jino hurt him more than you could ever imagine that day....he died feeling betrayed. as for our mother, and the rest of the pride....I'll leave the decision to them" growled Nguvu calmly. "Can i at least help redeem myself?" pleaded Kubwa. "What do you have in mind?" responded Nguvu, raising a brow curiously. "To stand by your side.....5 days for every day i served Maovu...to make up for the wrongs i've done against you...against our father, mother....and against our pride and family" growled Kubwa firmly. "That could well be your whole life, Kubwa" growled Nguvu. "And if it is, so be it! I won't shy away from it. It is the least i can do for what i've done" responded Kubwa. Nguvu glanced at Uzuri and Amani, wanting their opinion, Kubwa waiting anxiously for the decision...
