Barnes roughly grabbed Hiero's rifle and forced the barrel down, pointed at the ground. "Stand down, Masaki!" he barked, pushing him away from the startled Dodgson. "Now, I asked you a question, and I d*mn well better get an answer!"

"I ran away from the herd of people that I thought would help draw less attention to me, next I climb a tree to escape anything on the ground so when smaller snarling creatures started circling round' my hiding spot I try to kill one and then that thing showed up again! I tried to attach a gas charge to it's face but the adheasive failed to stick! When I jumped to avoid being a snack, finally my bad luck runs it's coarse and here we are with that ******* standing there not giving me a goddamn warning to pack something that can kill a giant walking tank with a mouth!" Shouted Hiero angrily while pacing back and forth before stopping and pointing at Dodgson. "You knew what we were going to encounter and diddn't even warn us, when we heard it, this place has more of them running around as well. So damn you sir now we are all going to die," spoke Hiero in a lower tone constantly sharply pointing his finger at the suite who obviously diddn't give a damn about any of them.

Barnes glowered at Hiero, standing between him and Dodgson and crossing his arms. "I understand what you're saying. I'm surprised too, and Dodgson was just about to explain when you came barreling through the forest screaming bloody murder! Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I think I remember you saying you were used to jungle combat! On top of that, you're a d*mn soldier, merc or not, so get your act together. I can't have you screaming about the apocalypse in front of the rest of these people, or that's exactly what we'll get when morale breaks down and everyone turns on each other!" He pointed out into the forest. "Those things out there? They may be dinosaurs, but that doesn't make them unstoppable. We can kill these things, or just do our best to avoid them. They're animals, not movie monsters!" Barnes wrenched the Galil out of Hiero's hand and clicked the safety back on, holding it at rest. He nodded over his shoulder. "Have a seat, Masaki. You'll get all the answers you'll need soon enough, but until you calm the f**k down, I'm not letting you use this weapon. Am I understood?"

Jack, meanwhile, yelped in surprise as a trio of small dinosaurs covered in orange and green down feathers scampered from the shadows, between his legs, and out of the wrecked Osprey, chirping excitedly. Jack spat in the creatures' general direction and continuing scrounging through the scattered equipment and cargo for anything salvageable. "Stupid f**king lizards..." he snarled under his breath.

Jacob climbed onto one of the low branches as he reached the tree, ascending, moving up with surprising ease for a man of his size and build, soon perched high in the branches, the large tree's branches still fairly thick at 15 feet up, the man listening in on the group in the clearing, though he remained wary of the object hiding amongst the foliage...

Maxwell stays silent throughout this whole fiasco. He wanted to speak, but would rather wait until Dodgson informs them of the situation before giving his opinion on the situation...

Hiero just stared back before walking over to the wreck and leaned against the haul, "I suppose I've gotten rusty after handling so many contracts in urban areas, not to mention that thing attacking us, I guess in my mind I was expecting the human adversary," he argued almost unitentionally out loud, he realized his own blunders and just decided to shut up.

"Clearly," Barnes muttered. He stood back, glaring at Dodgson, who sighed in resignation. "Yes, yes, very well. As you have no doubt realized, I am not actually from the FBI. I am from a secret branch of the U.S. government called the Office of Biological Studies. I was, five years ago, the lead of a project on this island, known was 'Project Resurrection.' Our goal was to bring dinosaurs back to life to be studied and, if all went well, to be used as psychological and biological weapons." Dodgson sighed. "Clearly, everything did NOT go as planned..." He paused for a moment, letting the information sink in, and letting someone else speak, if they wanted too...

David hunkered down at the base of the tree Jacob had climbed, looking back the way they came. His eyes panned back and fourth, scrutinizing the foliage for anything else that might be around them or approaching the rest of the mercenaries.

Rick spoke up, saying to Dodgson:"How many species of dinosaur were created and how many of them are ones that will likely be a threat to us?"

"23 Dinosaur species, as well as one non-dinosaur, a Deinosuchus," Dodgson replied. "Only around 10 of these species are carnivores of sufficient size to pose a threat, though some of the herbivores could be dangerous if we provoke them."

Maxwell asks a question as well: "Do you know if there are any weapon caches or ammo reserves nearby? We only got so many shots, you know, and there's possibly lots of these things if they got the chance to reproduce."

Dodgson nodded. "There is a research base on the island, with a military outpost only a short distance away from there. It is likely that there is still some ammunition and supplies there."

"How clsoe is the research base?" Maxwell inquires as he sits on the floor and pulls out his knife...

"On foot? A few hours," Dodgson replied. "However, there is another way." He bent down, opening up his briefcase and pulling out a large map of the island. He spread the map over the ground, and pointed at a section of it. "There's a large canyon a short distance from here. A rail system in it, originally used for transporting cargo and personnel, leads between the jungle and the research base. We can get there in a mere 20 minutes using it."

Hiero kept his mouth shut and lisened, when he heard about the rail system he had a bad feeling it wasn't going to be that simple but he had made enough stupid comments and choices and kept it to himself. Another part of him was hopeful however, he hoped he would be proven wrong. Then again whenever has life proved to be that easy.

By that point, Jack came back, shrugging uselessly to Barnes. "Sorry, LT. No radio. It got smashed when that thing crushed the Osprey. Anything that was intact had all its wires chewed up by those little fuzzy dinos." Barnes nodded. "Well, fortunately, we may have an alternative option." "Yes, the research base has a comm hub that we can use to contact the Boxer," Dodgson added. "If it's still intact, anyway. If not, there will probably be a few radios somewhere. The difficult part is getting to the base in one piece..."

Jacob eased down the tree low enough that he could jump to the ground unheard, before landing next to David. "Get ready to move when they do. We're leaving" said the man lowly as he checked his compass, comparing it with the angle of approach and what he saw from the air...

"As if you need to tell me" David muttered, waiting for the sounds of footsteps in the distance, the sign that the group had started to mobilize. Until then he was going to keep up his vigilant watch of the environment.

Maxwell says, "Do you think it would safer to head in under the cover of night? Maybe none of the dinos are nocturnal..."

"Several of the smaller species, including the raptors, are nocturnal," Dodgson replied. "Besides, we have more urgent needs." He took a deep breath and fruitlessly attempted to straighten his tie. "You see, Tyrannosaurus is far more intelligent than it looks. On top of that, they appear to have extremely long memories, and have been observed to hold... well, grudges." Barnes stared at Dodgson. "She'll be back, won't she?" Dodgson nodded. "Yes, she will. As far as we know, she won't stop until we are all dead. Fortunately, Tyrannosaurus are realistic about these goals, and will only commit to them if they have nothing else of importance, such as dealing with rivals, feeding on easier prey, etc."
