Kala wanted to argue further, explaining that he could easily kill any Cephian grunt that tried to get in his way, but the groaning of the building seemed to demanding him to hurry up and decide. Kala grunted. "Very well. One twitch in the wrong direction, though, and I won't hesitate to slice your head off. You'll forgive me if I'm being impolite..."

"Likewise" Galaak said simply as he started to head back down the stairs. He'd back track the way he came, head back to the roof and then back to the ship. There he hoped to know this Cephian's side of the story in the conflict. Was he really the ruthless criminal described to him? Was there a reason for him to use one ship throughout his travels? And finally, why was the reason he was so far out in what many considered backwater territory?

Kala followed the Ascatian, sheathing his arm blades, but kept his plasma emitters primed and ready to fire. He'd prefer having at least one weapon ready, because either Galaak was genuine, or just a very good liar...

When the two reached the roof, Galaak typed into a command into his wrist module and the hull entrance to the ship opened, the bright light shining down within beckoning the captain and his acquaintance to enter. The Ascatian stepped into the field of weightlessness, being lifted up into his craft...

Kala stepped into the lift as well, letting himself drift up into the cloaked ship. He wasn't used to gravity lifts like this (Cephian technology was a bit less elegant than the Ascatian's), but he easily slid up into the bowels of Galaak's craft...

The two lingered in the air for a second in a cylindrical room before the aperture below them slid shut. The pull of gravity returned and the aliens were eased back onto the metal floor before the beam disappeared all together. Ahead of them, a red square panel was lit up.

A low hiss sounded off before steam billowed from the walls, along with water, sanitizing the airlock. Once the cleansing was complete, the two were air dried, the sound of rushing wind accompanied with a droning hum. Afterwards, the panel became green with a pinging sound and the walls around them split apart, rising up and disappearing into an opening in the ship's ceiling, which promptly closed when two panels shifted towards each other.

Galaak's visor parted and the rest of his helmet followed suit, sliding apart and resting on the shoulder plates of his suit. "Welcome aboard, Cephian. Business awaits" The Ascatian said

The blur shot through the city, shooting in and out of alley ways, across busy streets and weaving through crowds on the sidewalk. Finally! The pent up energy had a release and relief was at hand. Kevin felt fear, exhilaration and nervousness all at once, the emotions blending together as he hurtled through Los Diamantes at inhuman speeds...

Kala looked around. He had stowed aboard an Ascatian ship before, but he was hiding in the cargo bay the entire time, and it had been a simple transport. This ship was much more luxurious, which made him slightly uncomfortable. As a species, the Cephians' idea of "comfort" was wholly alien to almost every other race they had ever met. All of their technology was mostly function over form, with the possible exception of their suits, which combined form and function in a type of psychological warfare (no one unfamiliar with a Cephian would want to see one of their fully-armored soldiers barreling towards them with an energy cannon). As a result, ships like this, with their smooth designs and elegant curves, were distinctly uneasy to Kala. However, he tried to stay focused and followed his new companion...

One of the striking features of Ascatian ships were the lack of visible doorways or entrances. Galaak walked toward what seemed to be a dead end, when suddenly the wall ahead of him split apart into small panels supported by several thin, segmented mechanical arms. Through the newly formed entrance was Galaak's cockpit, where he gestured for Kala to follow.

Kala stepped through the portal and into the cockpit, looking around. It was a bit more spacious than he expected, but he still hunched over slightly to keep himself from accidentally smashing into anything important. "Alright then, ask away..." he said calmly.

Galaak walked over to his chair and removed his weapons from his back. He braced them against the back of the chair. After a few seconds he let go, his equipment being locked to the chair as they were on his own back. He sat down then twisted about to look at his guest. A few moments after putting in a command in the wrist device, another seat appeared a few feet to the Cephian's side. "Get comfortable if you wish" The Ascatian said, gathering his thoughts...

"I... prefer to stand," Kala replied brusquely. Lacking legs, the concept was foreign to his species, and the mechanical suit wasn't exactly built with that purpose in mind...

"Then lets just get into the matter. First, what is your name? And how did you get that armor?" Galaak asked as he eyed the Cephian, hiding his eagerness for answers beneath a vacant expression...

"I am Kala," the Cephian replied curtly. "Oh, and yes, I did steal this suit from the Cephian armed forces, specifically a skunkworks manufacturing plant on Daas VII. The Primacy was not very happy about that."

"For formalities, I am Galaak Taalrik. What I said before holds true. You are indeed a well mannered criminal. So why did you do it? And what made you flee to this part of the galaxy?" The Ascatian inquired

"That... is a long story..." Kala replied, slightly forlorn. He sighed. "I suppose you should at least know my motivations. Tell me, what exactly do you think this suit is for?" He spread his mechanical arms for emphasis...

"Combat would be my first guess. Unless there's something that suit has that offers your natural body added protection?" Galaak replied. Due to his limited contact with Cephians, he did not know a lot about them. In fact, he knew more about the suits they wore than of their biology. One thing he did know however was the race's immunity to the cold and disfavor to the heat...

"It is the epitome of Cephian suit design," Kala explained. "Enhanced mobility, added defenses such as a shielding system and armor, weapons integrated directly into the suit to prevent easy disarmament, and everything else you can imagine. However, it also has additions unavailable to most other types of Cephian equipment: a cloaking device, numerous visor upgrades, and a host of other features. This suit is intended for soldiers to use in almost any field of combat, even environments hostile to our species. Unfortunately, I know enough about the Cephian Primacy to know that they wouldn't just use it to defend their territory. If this got mass-produced, they would do much more than that. I doubt even your armed forces could handle a full-fledged Cephian invasion. And think about this place. These... humans. They wouldn't win against our military, even without this new addition to our arsenal. Call me pacifistic, but I'd rather not see defenseless primitive cultures rendered extinct by my own race's greed. So did the only thing I could: I stole the most advanced piece of Cephian technology currently in existence. A mistake? Maybe. But that doesn't matter now. What matters is that they're after me, and they want this thing back, before I destroy it, or it winds up in the hands of, well, someone like you, or a human. I didn't think they'd be so d*mn eager, though. I expected to stall them, sure, but it's almost like I brought them to a grinding halt, and I'm the only thing on the Primacy's mind." He paused for a moment, thinking. "Which reminds me: who, exactly, are the hunters sent to capture me this time?"

Galaak nodded as Kala spoke, taking in the news and its many implications. If those sent after the Cephian would gladly unleash drones on these 'humans', he dared not imagine what they would do with the armor Kala now wore. "They are of your own kind, Kala. There are three mercenaries, one guarding your ship. I did not catch their names, but I know that one is a bounty hunter" He said, answering Kala's question.

"A bounty hunter..." Kala mused, his voice nervous. "Did you catch what the bounty hunter looked like? His armor? The color of his skin?" Most Cephian suits had slight openings in the back that allowed their tentacles (which were basic sensory organs for their emotion-detection ability) to protrude out and operate with negligible interference. It would be easy to catch their skin color from that alone...

"I ran into him briefly. His suit's a bit larger than yours with a red visor. I don't trust him. There's always a negative connotation to the title of bounty hunter" Galaak replied, raising a scaly brow at Kala. He needed sanctuary, a place to stay for the time being and safety from his pursuers. By trying to spare the galaxy death and destruction, Kala challenged the military might of his entire race. Such odds would be enough to drive anyone insane, from the sense of impending doom and crushing loneliness. Galaak would gladly aid the Cephian in his mission.

Horns blared and people screamed in the wake of the streak that zipped past them. It disappeared into an alley way, where the boy finally came to a stop. He wasn't tired. Far from it. In fact...he felt normal again. In control of himself. He stared down at his palms and feet, unable to comprehend what had happened to him. "This morning, I left my home as Kevin Anderson, an average 15 year old boy. When I came back...I wasn't even human" He thought, balling his hands into fists. How far had he run in the time that passed? It felt as if he had ran around the entire city at least 10 times. He headed back the sidewalk, peeking out from behind the corner of a building. He looked at a street sign: Stark Avenue. "Holy ****...I ran all the way downtown?!" He mumbled to himself, a few passing people shooting him strange glances. He was, after all looking very suspicious, as if he were hiding from the police. A few people were speaking loudly about the sight they had seen, the thing that could move so fast that no one could see just what it really was. "This can't be real..." He muttered as he stepped back out onto the pavement, scratching the back of his head in confusion...
