The Combine force was annihilated in the blast, but the Advisors couldn't care less. It had been a mere scouting party. If they wanted a real war, they were about to get it. At least, those who were still alive would. The Combine Cruisers moved closer to the planet, their weapons trained on the massive ship, ignoring the fact that they had somehow missed it entirely on its approach to the planet itself...

Soon, hundreds more defensive weapons sprung from the ship, before blasting at the Combine cruisers with full force, the vehicle itself turning to fire it's massive main cannon at the alien forces. Soldiers and others had began to get up, still alive from being at a minimal safe distance from the blast alone, before getting back to what they were doing...

The two Cruisers moved to either side, surprisingly swift despite their size, dodging the main cannon and firing back with their own weapons, pounding the bigger, slower ship's hull with countless bolts of dark energy, simultaneously calling in yet more reinforcements. They weren't about to just give up this planet without a fight...

The general replies to MOTHER. "I'm sorry to hear that. It is a pity that they were forced to eliminate the planet's main city," Rukh says. She says they used the prototype vaporizer bomb. "Well, at least we know it works," Rukh says. "We'll have them begin production soon. Rukh, over and out." MOTHER visibly sighs. It was one of the first traits of personality she ever showed- the sinking feeling of failure.

The general growls angrily upon hearing the news of the loss of 5520's main city. What could have done this? What did they want? What forced them to activate the most dangerous prototype the mpire had invented?

The ship had yet to fire it's offensive weapon, and it's smaller defensive guns opened fire on either side of the ship, senting laser bolts and beams all at the enemy ships. Soon, the gun fired a large canister at one cruiser, hitting it's bridge before exploding, sending napalm all onto the ship...

Considering the Synth Cruiser technically had no bridge, the shel simply punctured its armored hide, and it careened forward, forcing itself towards the much larger ship and crashing violently into it, its last maneuver taking itself out and engulfing the larger ship in a massive explosion...

The main gun was taken out from the attack, but considering The Savannah's massive size, little of it took actual damage as dropships flew down to the planet's surface to rescue those on the ground. Engineers started packing up, while scientists took some wildlife specimens and plants native to the place. The transports soon landed and everyone boarded along with the robots, before heading back to the ship itself for an escape...

The second Combine Cruiser continued to fire on The Savannah inexorably, intent on either destroying the massive ship or driving it off...

More damage was dealt to the massive ship, but not enough to internally damage it or destroy it yet. The transports soon entered the hangar bays and everyone left them, the damaged and flaming vehicle flying off and away from the planet soon afterwards...

The Cruiser did not attempt to pursue, instead turning its attention back to the Sheekh colony. Only a few minutes had passed before three more Cruisers arrived, all over which began disgorging a much larger force of Combine to descend on the planet below. If they were forced to wipe out the remaining natives, they could simply harvest the planet's resources for their own...

Some of the smaller outposts on the planet see the carnage unfolding above, and pitch in by firing their laser turrets at the dropships.......

MOTHER curls up and rests from her wounds......

The Savannah soon leaves, none of it's crew being killed at all, as scientists moved the planet's native wildlife and plants into holding pens to sustain them and then study them later. Soldiers and others went to their usual works, a mass of engineers soon getting onto the out layer of the ship as it got into space...

The invading Combine force is simply too large to take out, and the vast majority of the Combine Dropships successfully land, disgorging their deadly cargo of Combine Soldiers and Elite, Synths like the Hunter and Striders, and mechanical APCs onto the surface. More Gunships supported the attack from above as the Combine moved across the planet ever so steadily, killing all they came across like a vast plague. Unless they begged for mercy, the natives would not receive it anymore...

Little resitence remained, since the majority of the planet's legion was detroyed, save for a few pockets of militia, the occasional platoon, and, in rare cases, battle mechs left over from a war long forgotten, being used by sheekhs with a great sense of mechanical ingenuity........

The Savannah soon travelled deeper into Sheekh territory, those aboard still having little knowledge of how much they actually owned at the moment. If they could still manage to set up a colony, they'd be able to build a possible empire in later years if they were lucky to not be overwhelmed by alien races before that...

The Combine rapidly began dropping more and more troops onto the colony's surface, planning on annihilating every living thing that remained...

The militia from the ouposts simply do not have the weaponry to fight off the approaching Combine forces. The majority of them flee underground with the outpost's citizens.......

A vocie enters the ship's radios. "Attention! This is radio command. We caught your ship entering Sheekhatan's airspace. Please, state your buisness, and we will not be forced ro fire."

The Combine did not pursue the fleeing natives underground. They had other, far more insidious methods of wiping out entrenched foes...

The citizens from the main city emerge from the bunkers and flee into the forests to find resources before returning back to their homes.....

The militia close the doors to the underground bases, hoping that the combine can't get in......

The Combine's constant presence on the surface makes short work of those who try escape into the forests for resources, gunning down any they perceive as non-Combine. Meanwhile, to keep the hiding Sheekhs busy, the Combine began to seed the the areas near the outposts with large colonies of Antlions, kept in stasis until needed, then dumped into the middle of the relatively temperate wilderness. The large insectoids begin excavating nests to protect their young and Guardians, rapidly building underground tunnels to begin with, often traveling dangerously close to the underground bunkers...
