Several footsteps were being heard on Sorna. Several big footsteps. Grunting. Snorting. All the typical signs of an adult, but grouchy, Stegosaur. He was traveling on a side of the island that not many were actually near at the moment. ((This is Sorna.))
Being alone was something this Stegosaur was familiar with. Hence being so.. grouchy. His original herd had dispersed a time ago. Nearby there was a Velociraptor, looking like he was almost making a burrow. The maroon carnivore simply looked up at the behemoth passing and scurried back into his large hole in the ground that must have taken weeks to dig out. He sighed again with a grunt, knowing he would probably be investigated by the ol' jokester. While he was annoying toward Kujo, the little red, maroon raptor was indeed smart and clever.
He passed.
A burst of red shot out from the hole.
The annoying thing was coming.
Ugh.
Not the first time, either. Ripto continually annoyed the adult, grouchy Stegosaur whenever he was seen. The thagomizer swung back and forth behind him, perfectly balanced, almost acting as a complete warning to the little red raptor. His plates flushed red to show his annoyance. Only one thing was clear, to the raptor, right now: Back off.
But Ripto was more clever than that. The Stegosaur, after all, does have a brain the size of a walnut. That is, of course, assuming he's stupid.
He crossed to the other side of the mega Stegosaur and caught the grouch by surprise. Again! Could that walnut sized brain process anything?
But this time it wasn't so easy. Kujo's eye focused in on the raptor now, practically zeroing in. A louder grunt and snort was heard. He turned sharply and charged at the Velociraptor. He was in no mood. Especially not for him. Atrocious little thing.
Ripto knew he had once pushed his "victim" of his attitude a tad bit too far. He saw the charge and ran at top speed; well, at least he had that advantage. He leaped up onto a tree, clawing half of the bark off where he had gone up to the branch. Kujo looked up and immediately processed the thought of slamming his front feet on the sturdy tree to shake it up, at the very least. He slammed his feet, knocking the Velociraptor temporarily off balance. Ripto knew his objective. He was really steaming this time!
Ah, mission yet again accomplished. The small red antagonist simply annoyed Kujo when he was bored; it provided stimulation for the both of them, didn't it? Ripto needed to figure out how to annoy him then to avoid him. Kujo needed to figure out where he was, and how to chase him! A perfect game of tag. Only, Ripto saw it as a game. Kujo saw it as being angered.
Another loud bellowing noise from below. Ripto balanced on his thighs, in a crouch on the large branch. His goofy face looked down at the angered Stegosaur, only taunting the creature more. He slammed his side against the tree in obvious anger, his plates glowing red because of his blood pumping.
Ripto had sure gotten away this time, but not always. There had been times of Ripto's spine nearly being crushed by his front feet. If only he had succeeded, the annoying little bug would be gone now. He had an advantage over Kujo: flexibility and speed.
He continued on his way, looking for any particular food or water source. He was a tad picky about what ferns or plants he'd eat; he preferred certain meals.
Sheila saw some of the action from the safety of the giant burrow the 5 raptors had dug; she called for her sister Elora so the two could go out and find their father together. Rhynoc and Bentley were still in the burrow, or den, with only their heads peeking out to watch for any other creatures. The two young females wandered along, seeing the angry herbivore in the distance. So Ripto was probably around here somewhere, then..
Ripto was on a generally low branch of the tree, just high enough to get away from the large Stegosaur. A bush was under the branch, and because of the weight being on the particular branch so long it began to snap. He watched it crack, crack.. crack.
He went down with the branch, into the bush. He stuck his head out, Sheila and Elora looking a tad surprised to see him sticking out of a bush. Ripto nudged them, and scurried off toward the burrow. Finally reaching it and settling down again, his body ached, and didn't feel like being bothered. He curled up and quickly dozed off, blocking the entrance to the burrow with his body to protect his four chicks.
