After another spring through the trees, the green raptor came upon the band of Lilis below, watching quietly from the trees. He picked up on bits and peices of conversation between a gray stranger and the orange crested Switchblade. He stayed on his perch for a few moments, examining the situation. His aquaintance below didnt seem to be hurt in any way. She just seemed...busy. He cocked his head, deciding its best he didnt interupt. He'd tell Rose that her friend was alright and had found some of her kind when he got back to her. With Ripper, Blade and Switchblade accounted for, the only one left now was the flame hided Deinonychus. The green scaled raptor leapt off again, making a quiet rustle as he moved through the leaves, trying to find a lead as to where Hellfire might have gone to

"Dragonfly, silly!" the compy replied in an annoyed tone that seemed oddly out of place for a compy talking to a raptor. "Now will you excuse us? We're doing important, secret, compy things in here." "And pterosaur things!" chirped Razorwing's voice from within the skeleton.

Renegade opened one eye, glancing toward the skeleton where the small dinos were talking, slightly annoyed, before closing it again, trying to sleep...

"Secret things..." Rhojis cocked his head slightly. "O...kay. I'll leave you to it then..." With that, he backed away from the skeleton and turned to pace toward the other side of the cave, vaguely wondering what 'secret compy things' meant.

The two Lilis simultaneously shot glances into the trees at the sound of a rustle from somewhere above, though Switchblade's attention quickly returned to her previous thoughts. "You mean the pack I was born into... " The gray Lili gave a small nod. "Did anything... happen to them?" The Lili's amber eyes fixed on her again in a slightly nervous look. "Y-yes... Something did happen to them... was that just a wild guess or do you know something I don't?" "My old pack disappeared, though I never found out why," hissed the pale Lili in a quiet tone. Switchblade's eyes widened. "How could you not know why?" "I wasn't with them at that time... I was living with a friend elsewhere..." The green Lili paused for a moment, then murmured, "If... if you somehow are from the same pack... I know why they disappeared. I was there to see it..." The gray Lili seemed to tense and Switchblade lowered her voice further. "They were nearly all killed by a pack of Saurophaganax..." The skinny creature let out an odd moaning noise and momentarily closed her eyes, head hanging. "So... there never was a chance of rejoining them..." Both Lilis averted their eyes, gazing unseeingly at the sand. "But.. wait. What if it's just coincidence? Maybe we just both had bad luck?" Switchblade hissed after a moment, though she didn't sound convinced. "That's why I asked your leader's name," hissed the gray Lili. Switchblade took in a breath and let it out slowly, names and memories coming easily back to her. "My father was the leader... For as long as it lasted anyway... His name was Merak." The gray Lili slowly started to nod. "That's him..."

Rapture cocked his head as the two conversed, now laying under another tree a short distance from the kill. Though he couldn't hear what they were talking about, the two seemed quite troubled...

Fury lunged, but purposefully stopped short, his head lowered and his shoulder at the forefront, smashing himself against the larger Tyrannosaur once more...

Crusher, in a semi crouch, braced himself to absorb the blow, twisting his form to the side slightly to adjust the impact angle, in order to put the brunt of the blow on his shoulder and flank instead of his head, before swinging his head up and over Fury, slamming it down on his back before pushing the Rex back, putting some space between the two, fangs bared...

Aircrest let himself drop from the trees, landing with a soft thump against the dirt. The trees were spaced out all around him, with larges bushes and shrubs spread about the undergrowth. Hellfire's scent was here, a scent trail that started on the beach, mixed with the salty air and continued on into the jungle. Aircrest hissed "Aw damn. I was hoping this wasnt the case..." as he looked into the shadowy jungle floor. The Deinonychus' scent and the scents of other creatures drifted into his nostrils from the plants themselves. Its only a matter of time until Hellfire's scent was masked, and by then Aircrest would be in the thicket of the jungle, unable to tell the difference. But with a sigh, he started to run, deciding to at least give it a try. If he couldnt find his friend, then at least he'd have some time to be a loner again. It'd help him get his head cleared

Hazel walked along the forest floor lost in thought, sickle claws bobbing up and down with every step she took but they never touched the ground. He panned her head left and right, as if scanning her surroundings but her blank stare just made it seem she was trying to look pass the walls of foliage that surrounded her. From giant trees to tiny bushes and patches of grass. She kicked a rock away and glanced to it as it tumbled away- the only sign that she was paying attention- before looking back up. She was trying to make sense of what she heard before. About each one of those raptors being related by some means, yet living their lives unaware of each other unless they met by some chance. It made her think about her relationship to Aircrest, and further more, his relationship to his real family- who ever and where ever they may be- and the implications that came along with it. The confusions of family ties seemed so...confusing...when she thought about it. Perhaps too confusing for a creature who never had a true concept of family ties. Maybe thats why Aircrest is how he is, willing to run off into the unknown despite how others might feel if he never came back.

Fury winced slightly, stabilizing himself after a few steps back. The smaller Tyrannosaur kept himself low, once again acting defensively...

Crusher made a low, rumbling growl as he looked down at the Rex, keeping wary of his positioning so as not to open himself up for an attack. "Stand down, Fury. don't make me end this fight my way" snarled the Rex...

Thorn pretended to be acting as sentry, though the revelation had shocked him. Another former pack mate? What were the odds? He'd been convinced that he, his late brother Storm, and Switchblade were the only ones left...but then, he supposed, anything was possible. The pack had scattered in panic when the bigger predators had ambushed them. For all they knew...there could still be others out there. A faint hope at best. But better than no hope at all.

Aircrest came to a stop at a thick tree trunk, bracing against it as he started panting. He let himself lower to the ground, taking the opportunity to rest. His run had taken him someways into the jungle, far from the beach he had started from. "Crap!" Aircrest grunted to himself as he caught his breath. "If he can go all this way, Hellfire isnt injured, thats for sure" He added, standing up again. The low distant trumpetting of Brachiosaurs and other herbivores reverberated through the jungle, a sign that a congregation had formed not too far from him. "And he's probably off getting his life back together..." Aircrest grunted thoughtfully as he found himself walking towards the calls. "And I need to get my priorities together. He doesnt....need me popping up again. Maybe Ill run into him in a month or so..." The raptor continued, speeding up to a trot now. Some distance ahead, the trees thinned out. This let in the burning colors of the island's sunset skies in the shadows of the jungle. What laid beyond was a complete mystery to him, and he welcomed it. It brought back the happier memories of his past...

Switchblade let what she'd just heard sink in for a few moments. It was the gray Lili who broke the silence. "I can't believe they're gone... Merak seemed like a capable leader. What do you think happened to cause the attack?" "I don't remember. I was only a hatchling at the time. Barely out of the nest." "Ah," the gray Lili hissed, adding in a thoughtful tone, "That's where I remembered you from, actually... The leader's nest. There was another who looked alot like you if I recall." "That was my sister, Sabre," Switchblade hissed immediately. "We were almost identical. I also had two brothers, but they looked nothing like me," she added with an attempt at a smile. After a pause, the gray Lili cocked her head and hissed, "By the way, I forgot to ask your name..." "Switchblade," the green Lili hissed with a small nod. "And that's Thorn, as you might have heard." The gray Lili returned the nod. "I'm Haze. Not too special, but I think it fits," she hissed with a tilt of her head, glancing over at the other male curiously. It seemed neither of them knew anything about him...

Rhojis continued to pace, walking alongside the stream, not really feeling like laying down even though his legs still felt mildly tired. Their release on the island had driven all other thoughts out of his mind for a time, but now that things had quieted down, troubling thoughts started to filter back in and he abruptly remembered what he'd been about to do right before they were captured. He shot a glance at Sylicora, who was still resting comfortably, her muzzle buried in the leaves. He'd have to tell her soon. Knowing her, the longer he waited, the more she would resent it...

Hazel continued to wander- in body and mind- passing through the undergrowth as if in a daze. Its only when a few familiar scents wafted by did she suddenly come in tune with her surroundings. She could smell several dinosaurs. Blade and Alira she made out instantly. Switchblade was nearby, she picked up on a faint scent trail belonging to Ripper left a while ago, and suprisingly, her brother had passed through some time ago. "I take it Ripper is alright, Aircrest?" She growled quietly to herself. The scent trail was coming from deeper within the jungle, so it wasnt hard to assume that Aircrest had ran into him at one point and came back to check up on his other aquaintances. She then remembered why she left the others to begin with. She was trying to find somewhere to spend the rest of the day. Considering that she had been wandering towards the coast, she took it that she lost focus of her goal. She shook her head and started to make the way back to group

Aircrest stepped out of the thinning line of foliage, stepping into what seemed to be a lagoon, the waters reflecting the blazing dusk skies above. Ripples ran across the surface as the hulking bodies of the light brown long necked titans moved through, their heads hidden in the surrounding trees. They stripped away the leaves on drooping branches, bits and peices raining down to te ground. The fallen bits were then snapped up by a group of dryosaurs darting around the edges of the lagoon. The giants made their lowing calls as they ate, seemingly oblivious to the world around them. Aircrest continued down the gentle slope to the water, walking along the bank of the lagoon, taking in the sight. This is what he had missed in the months he was trapped in the decaying jungle of gray spires...

"You seem like a raptor with a lot on his mind," Howler's voice hissed behind Rhojis had he walked up to the gray raptor, seeming much more confident and serious than he had earlier, like he had gotten something off his chest all of the sudden.

Thorn, feeling the need to get his own story off his chest, began to speak. His voice rumbled in his chest as he growled, "My brother, Storm, and I were part of the very same pack. We were on our way back from scouting ahead for the danger we knew was lying in wait for the pack somewhere when we heard the roaring start." Here his voice trembled. He swallowed and went on as steadily as he could. "We ran as fast as we could...but by the time we got there, it was already too late." he closed his eyes. His voice lowered to a murmur nearly drowned by the hiss of the wind and surf. "Our pack was gone." He lowered his head, as if ashamed that he and his brother hadn't been fast enough. After a moment of silence for their lost packmates, he growled, "Storm and I stood there for what felt like an eternity, just looking for any movement. We were hoping that if there were any survivors, they were still in the area. But there was nothing. When we heard the footsteps of a big carnivore, we just...panicked and ran. We ran for years...thinking that the monsters that killed our pack were still hunting us. And then...just when we thought we'd found a place where we could finally live in peace..." His gaze hardened and his next words came in a steely tone. "...Another monster of a different species killed Storm. Just like that...another packmate. Gone. He died right in front of me, and I couldn't do anything..." His jaw clenched as his voice choked. He couldn't go on talking.

Rapture felt the green Lili's gaze, turning his attention back to the group long enough to hear this 'Thorn's' story. Evidently they all knew each other...he was starting to feel like he was intruding...

"I'm just getting started..." Fury snarled, nostrils flaring once again, circling the larger Rex slowly...

Walking along the muddy bank of the lagoon, Aircrest felt cool water wash up and over his feet. The sensation was soothing, after so much time treading across the hardened ground of the human realm. The raptor noticed on the far side of the lake, some Stegosaurs made their way out from the tree line. Their foot falls made tremors as they lumbered out into the open. The rocked gently as they moved, some making long hooting calls. When it came into the open, the herd spread out among the area. Some dipped their beak like snouts into the water. Others grazed on the low lying plants in the area, their boney plates on full display as their spiked tails swayed back and fourth. Aircrest looked away from the green hided giants to the other creatures around him. Some Pachycephalosaurs dueled with their domed heads a few yards away, bellowing at each other at first before slamming their skulls together with a loud thunk. Some Parasaurolophus stood a few feet away from them, trumpetting making trumpetting calls at each other. Aircrest then looked out to the water. He saw golden ripples as the sun dipped into the west behind the jungle expanse, its fleeting rays catching the lagoon. Aircrest sighed, It was truely great to be back where he belonged again

Crimson fang was walking through the jungle, a smile upon his face. He was happy to be back on the island he had grown up on, although he hadn't lost his interest in the human objects that he had examined back on the island of human caves. The raptor was heading back to the cave that he had been living in prior to the humans taking him to the strange island, wanting to see it once again after so long...

"Then i guess we'll have to hope Hunter can forgive the death of his best friend" snarled Crusher lowly as he took a stride to one side of Fury, jaws bared, blood-coated fangs glinting in the early afternoon light...

Aircrest's attention was pulled away from the shimmering water to the loud thump and squeal he heard behind him. He turned his body around, seeing that one of the bone heads had been knocked over to its side, kicking frantically at the victor. It threw its head back and let out several gravelly calls, declaring its triumph. The fallen Pachycephalosaur suddenly rolled to its feet and with a fluid motion, sent its head into the gloating herbivore's stomach, knocking the air from its lungs and making it stagger back. It released a yelp as its attacker suddenly swung its body up, slamming the domed skull into the Pachy's bottom jaw. The once proud herbivore stumbled from the blows before slinking off. The other one scratched at the ground it stood and swung its head about, showing the others of the herd its stature. Aircrest turned away from the display, looking back into the water
