Isla Sorna Stories RPG

Where good and bad RPGs and E-wars go to die.

As he walked on, a breeze blew in Crimson Fang's direction, carrying with it the scent of another raptor. Crimson Fang paused for a few seconds, the scent not being of any other raptors that he knew of. Deciding that he could tolerate being around another of his kind for awhile just for a change from his typical nature of being alone except for being with Shadow Horn, whom he had yet to find since waking up on Isla Sorna, the raptor began to head in the direction of the scent, which was in the same direction he was head, leaping onto a neabry tree branch, then jumping from branch to branch. After travelling through the tree tops for awhile, he spotted the other raptor on the other side of a lake through a gap in the leaves...

Aircrest sniffed a few times as a new scent drifted towards him. He looked up. By now the sun had receaded well beyond the tree tops. The scent belonged to a raptor, and it was coming from well beyond the lagoon. The green raptor thought little of it, turning away from the water and starting to make his way back towards the trees

Crimson Fang however, found himself face to face with a Brachiosaur, the giant leaf eater's body situated in the lake. Its giant mouth latched onto the leaves around the raptor, tugging and ripping them off. The branches shuddered a few times, threatening to shake the agile predator from his perch...

Crimson Fang let out a suprised hiss when the Brachiosaur began to eat leaves that were near the branch he was on. Knowing he had no chance of being able to do anything to an adult Brach, the raptor instead leaped off of his branch and to the ground, where he began to resume heading in the direction of his cave, running for a few seconds to get some distance between him and the sauropod in the lake...

The Brachiosaur continued eating, almost oblivious to the raptor that was by its head. It collected another collection of leaves in its large mouth and then pulled back, stripping the tree of its greenery, before working the vegetation down.

Just the same, Aircrest had been oblivious to the incident, now having slipped by the the many herbivores around the lagoon. He pushed his way through the undergrowth and disappeared into the jungle. He wanted to find a place to settle down for the night before it got too dark. He hoped his mate wasnt worried about him.'

Hazel walked past the last of the moss covered trees, arriving at the spot she had left some time ago. She noticed how dark it had gotten, and thought about the irony of the day. She woke up to another day in the human's world. She would go to sleep back on the island she knew all her life...

Pulsar walked back into the cave, having stealthily crept out, unnoticed by the rest of them. He seemed to be hauling something along, and, with closer observation, was seen dragging the remains of a medium-small, quadrupedal creature in his mouth, by the neck, its tail and back legs scraping against the rough floor of the roomy hole...

As the light faded away into the oncoming night, Aircrest started to think about stopping his travels to find his place amongst the canopy. He pushed past another line of shrubs, only to see that theground infront of him suddenly stopped. He edged his way over to the sheer drop, his gaze dropping to look at the tops of trees several feet below a rock face, vines growing down the side. "Well that was...unexpected" Aircrest thought, looking to the sky with a sigh, relieved that he didnt step over the edge unknowingly. Aircrest turned away from the cliff and walked of, staying a few feet away from the edge, but trailing along it. Maybe he'd find his way down to the lower ground.

Hazel however, had started to dig out a small place to sleep for the night. She made a burrow into the base of a tree, using the roots that spread out from it as a natrual barrier. The moss covered anchors passed over the burrow's entrance with only a little space for the dark tan female to slip into the makeshift den. It was better than sleeping out in the open when night did fall...

Old One Eye wanders deeper into the jungles of Isla Sorna. Her hunger drove her onwards to try and find something else to eat......

She really did miss her mate. He was so kind and loving. Unfortunately, that triceratops had taken her lvoe away form her for all eternity, and also cost her her eye. A look of sadness falls upon the already sad Allo. She continues onwards, having little hope for the future.......

Water rushed off the cliff face and fell tens of feet to a basin below. The noise filled the area as a roar and a mist hung over the bottom of the waterfall, rolling out along the channel. Aircrest stood at the side of the torrenting river, having come across it after a short while of following the cliff side. He shifted his attention from the river to the cliff itself. He carefully made his way to the edge and looked down. There were large outcrops petruding from the rock face down the height of the cliff. They seemed somewhat moist and were grown over by small plants and vines, turning them a greenish color. Aircrest dropped down onto the first outcrop, which was a few feet below the ledge. He then dropped down with to a lower one, his claws tapping against the rock. He continued down the rock face, careful as to not slip off the wet outcrops. It wasnt long until he passed through the foggy cover that rose from the tormultuous water and touched down onto the moist ground around the basin...

As the daylight began to die, Siri stood. "I'm going to scout the borders," she growled. "I want to be sure those allosaurs have gone. I'll see if I can't find something worth bringing back, too."

Viridis, who had been having a quiet conversation with Silver as the three hatchlings tumbled and played around them, looked up. "Be careful, mother," she growled.

Siri smiled. "You know me, Viridis. Anything out there won't see me coming until it's too late." It was true. Siri, though she had white markings, was the darkest-colored raptor in the pack, and very good at moving through shadows undetected. She gave Inculta a nuzzle that he returned, turned, and padded out of the cave. As she passed Mwuaji, who was on guard duty, she gave him a nod. he nodded back.

Silver couldn't help noticing that Astus' expression had darkened at the obvious affection between the dominant pair. She leaned towards Viridis and asked quietly, "What's up with Astus? He looks like he just found maggots in his prey or something."

Viridis followed Silver's gaze to the pale gray male. After a moment, she murmured, "I'm not surprised....he and Siri used to be very close. They were good friends for a while. She was a member of another pack, but she always used to find time to visit. He fell in love with her, and he thought she was in love with him. But when she met Inculta, she fell head over heels for him. Astus never really recovered from the blow...or stopped loving her."

Silver made a quiet noise of sympathetic understanding. As she watched, Astus stood and left the cave as well, heading in a different direction than Siri had. "Where's he going?"

"Probably to the half-boulder," Viridis answered. "A split rock in the middle of our territory," she explained, seeing Silver's confused expression. "He goes there a lot to think. Sometimes Inculta goes with him. I think he's the only one Astus lets near him when he's in this kind of mood."

Silver fell silent, contemplating this new information. Her heart went out to Astus. She couldn't imagine the pain he must have been through, or what he must still be going through whenever he saw Siri and Inculta together.

Selena and Rose had busied themselves with making their own sleeping places. Rose had found a boulder with a deep crack in it that widened out the further back it went. She'd dragged a bunch of ferns inside and scraped at the packed earth with her claws to loosen it up and make it more comfortable to rest on. The older female had flattened some grass stalks and simply settled on top of them. Though she seemed to be dozing, her half-open eyes were constantly scanning the undergrowth around them.

Alira's eyes cracked open. Getting dark. How long was I asleep? She lifted her head and let out a long yawn, stretching. As she stretched, she touched something warm and scaly next to her. More alert now, she swung her head around and stared at the shape for a few seconds before she recognized Blade's still-sleeping form. She relaxed a bit. So he'd gotten home safely too. She studied him for a moment longer before realizing she was still staring. She quickly looked away. It might not be safe to stay here for the night, she thought. But as she looked back at the male, she couldn't bring herself to wake him. Let him rest a while longer, she decided. Resting her head again, she stared ahead, trying to get her mind to go blank.

Aircrest looked around him, taking in his surroundings. The water crashed off of rocks at the base of the cliff, throwing up a massive spray with every passing second. The rushing water drowned out the noise of the surrounding jungle. Aircrest took a deep breath, enjoying the cool mist that floated around him. He then started off, heading towards the vegetation ahead. He could see the silhouettes of trees beyond the wist. Aircrest was mindful of where he stepped, not wanting to fall into the basin and being swept off. When the green raptor escaped with wispy fog, he found himself surrounded by thick undergrowth. He could barely force his way through the lines of shrubs in his way. He looked up to the tree tops, and with a strong jump, shot up onto a branch that stretched out over head. Vines wrapped around it and spiralled down the tree bark. Aircrest then made his way through the leaves, swiftly passing over the thicket below.

Hazel poked her head out from between the roots, looking through the breaks in the tree top. It was almost dusk. She climbed out of her den, wanting to get some grasses to make some bedding.

Rhojis stopped his slow pacing, shooting a sideways glance at Howler with eyes that had the slightly vacant look of a raptor coming out of deep thought. "Uh... well, yeah, I guess so... Just thinking about.... family..." He averted his mismatched gaze, unaware that his troubling thoughts had been so noticeable. For a moment he wondered whether he should tell Howler the story he'd meant only for his sister's ears, but that seemed wrong somehow...

Haze silently lowered her eyes to the sand, the Lili feeling every bit of the hopeless pain and sadness that Switchblade was. The green Lili however, expressed it differently. She had been there to see Storm's death and the memory was still sharp as a claw point. Not only did she lose a packmate on that day, but she did nothing to stop the raptor who did it. She was sitting up in a tree. The Lili blinked and looked away, suddenly aware that she'd been staring at Thorn as he told his side of the story, hissing coldly, "And I was of even less help. All I did was stay hidden up in a tree the whole time while that horrible..." She broke off, her harsh tone dying, leaving her voice sounding small and hollow. Since that day, she had never quite forgiven herself. "Maybe there was nothing I could do about the pack... but I wish I had just tried to help you and Storm..."

Howler nodded sympathetically. "I see... Well, if you want to keep it private, I understand perfectly. I know all about family issues," he hissed with a wry grin.

"Hey, Selena?" Hazel growled, walking up the black and white raptor's side. "Can you help me gather some plants for my den?" She asked, cocking her head.

Aircrest jumped across the gaps in the branches swiftly, moving unhindered like always. It was routine. Jump from branch to branch when they were close, run across branches when there was more distance to build momentum and so on. He continued like usual for the most part, before he came across something that stopped him in his tracks. He landed on a branch and instead of launching off again, he dug his claws into the wood and anchored himself. Infront of him, the trees were decimated. Branches were snapped, some trees leveled all together. Aircrest was dumbfounded as to what happened. It looked like a cross between a storm and a trike stampede had come through here some time ago. "....Crap" Aircrest growled to himself. He started scenting the air, trying to find if any large creature was nearby. There was. A lone Tyrannosaur. It had marked its boarder mere feet away. It also made marker out of the trees ahead. "Just when I gave up my games, I appear at a giant's home. The vicious, insane cycle of my life" He hissed, ripping his claws out of the branch. He then dropped down, landing with a soft rustle in the foliage below. He broke off into a jog through the underbrush. From the waterfall basin was a stream. He'd follow that through the area until he found his way back into the tree. Until then, he could only hope he didnt run into the territory's owner, which, as he knew from experiance, was unlikely when dealing with a T-rex.

As Flamejaw waited for Chopper to come back with Brute and the rest of their pack, Snake started hopping around his mother, chirping for food, his mouth wide open, as Wolfe lay ontop of the unconscious female juvenile, chirping aswell. Soon, she had caught a small glimpse of the male juvenile, Ritatius, watching them with a cold stare, and chirped in suprise. The female juvenile soon awoke, lifting her body up from the ground, nearly knocking Wolfe off her, making her chirp in shock even more, her and Flamejaw now watching the golden eyes focus in on them.

Ritatius lunged back further into the bush he was in, as Chopper, Brute and the rest of the pack soon came, Wolfe finally falling off the female juvenile, as she turns around and greets the group with a caw, Flamejaw doing the same, Snake chirps for food, running up to his father, but trips on a stick, and effortlessly fails at bringing himself off the soil below him. Chopper lowers his head towards Snake, lifting the youngling in his jaws, suprising the young chick, causing him to chirp even louder, making a compsognathus come to investigate, only to be caught and attacked by Flamejaw, who broke it's neck, killing it, dropping the body to the ground for her younglings to eat, Chopper setting Snake down, the both of swarming at the dead compy, the male juvenile leaving soon afterwards...

the low, faint thuds of footfalls could be heard in the trees, the thuds not having the range of those of a super predator, the owner of these being somewhat more passive. Erebus walked through the jungle quietly, the only sound to hint he was there being the sound of the occasional bush being pushed out of the way, and the herbivore's footsteps on the soft lush ground. as was a habit of the herbivore, he spent the peace to reflect on his past. it wasn't a pleasant history, but at this age, it was all he had left. more than once he had considered finding a herd of his kin to live the rest of his days in peace, protected. but the sad truth of the matter that regardless of who he found, he'd eventually be unbearable to them and would be driven out. his only family were his brother, and a son who had disappeared shortly before the herd got attacked all those years ago. he had long since given up hope of finding him alive, convinced he had likely been one of the first victims of the Gigas that slaughtered the rest of the herd. the elder sighed. How could I have let myself deteriorate like this? it was a question he had asked many times, but always got a different answer. sometimes it was Because you're bitter. others it was Because you can't get over the past. yet others it would be You fear change. each time his subconscious would give him yet another reason. grunting, the Trike settled on a decision. I've had enough of this. Enough sulking. I can't let our family line die out like this. with a lone, miserable old bull whose constantly feeling sorry for himself. It's time things changed thought the Trike. he continued onwards, heading towards one of the small lakes he knew were in the area. it'd likely have other herbivores near it. from there, he could find out where to go to find others of his kind...

Blade shifted in his spot, dreams of the massive concrete jungle still haunting him. he ran through the streets as a hatchling, forgetting everything he was taught in the terror of the moment, his former leader, Yellowcrest, hot on his heels, the furious Allosaur charging after him. "You think you can kill ME?! You're hardly worth the egg you hatched from you insignificant whelp!" boomed the Allosaur as he lunged, Blade leaping to the side and into an alleyway, barely missing the angry buck. "I WILL FIND YOU, BLADE! YOU CAN'T RUN FOREVER!" roared the massive, mutated Allosaur, caught in the entrance of the alley, his heavily muscled form preventing him from pursuing. Blade continued to run, suddenly feeling the ground disappear from under him, the feeling of falling striking him, falling into the blackness for several minutes, the Allosaur roaring in panic as he saw the ground approach, the distance between them disappearing in seconds...

Blade jumped with a roar of panic, eyes wide as his form landed again with a thump, having no legs to support the Allosaur, who had been sleeping on his side. the Allosaur was breathing heavily, panic-stricken, looking around wildly, at first not recognising his surroundings, his eyes adjusting as he took in the sounds of the jungle, slowly calming down, his breath evening...

"It's too quiet. something's wrong" growled Rampage, having become uncomfortable with the long period of silence from her mate. had the fights ended he would've summoned them. but Crusher's anger at the loss of his territory to his brother meant that he would normally be very vocal in his combat. and yet, the massive Tyrannosaur's signature booming roars were nowhere to be found. she walked ahead, Hunter, Lightning and Serena following close behind her, Serena in the midst of the three Rexes, safe from harm...

Fatalis lay silently in the cave, seemingly resting, his flank rising and falling amidst the thick layer of leaves and ferns they had found in the cave. what nobody would notice though, was that he was in fact listening silently...

Aircrest poked his head out from behind a bush, looking scanning the shadows for the figure of the Tyrannosaur. Its scent was strong in the area but still the behemoth kept itself hidden. Silently, the raptor made a break for it, speeding through the undergrowth, rustling trailing his movement. He jumped over a few fallen branches, nearly tripping over a couple because of how they were hidden by the plants. He could hear distant thuds now, slowly growing louder, marking the approach of the Tyrannosaur. Aircrest sped up, panting as the adrenaline flowed through his veins and he was simply acting on instinct, reverting back to the creature of his past...

"Yeah, sure," Selena growled, her eyes opening fully. She stood and began rooting around where Rose had gotten her bedding, looking for the softer, younger ferns. They made for better bedding than the older plants.

Alira jumped, startled from her thoughts by Blade's awakening. "And I thought startled Anatotitans were loud," she remarked, though her tone was less annoyed than it would've been some time ago. Resting a hand on Blade's shoulder, she added, "Either something just bit your tail, or that was one hell of a nightmare. You alright?"

"Thanks" Hazel growled, walking after Selena and getting to work trying to find proper ferns. While shifting through fronds, she growled somewhat uneasilly "Aircrest's been gone for a while now...think he's alright?"

As he shot through the undergrowth, the raptor could hear loud snorting as the Rex got closer, sniffing the air for his scent no doubt. He swerved about, running around a nearby tree. By now the impact tremors rocked the ground as the giant predator neared. It swung its head as it stepped out from a line of trees, branches in its way snapped like twigs with a thundering crack, splinters flying off in random directions. The Tyrannosaur was a dark gray in color, with blue and silver tones in its scaley hide. It let out an ear splitting roar as it lumbered after the sprinting raptor. It shook the Earth with every step it took, and its leg muscles rippled as they propelled the beast forward. The fallen timber that slowed Aircrest down snapped like twigs underneath the predator's taloned feet...

Blade eyed Alira for a moment, soothed by the fact he had someone he knew at the moment. "I....I'm ok....at least physically...Damn it....i thought i'd gotten over my past years ago" he growled, mind whirring with thoughts...

Alira hummed understandingly. "A past like yours doesn't just fade into memory. It leaves scars; painful scars that linger." She looked away. "It might be some time yet before the memories stop haunting you."
