Aircrest let out a wordless bark that travelled through the morning air as a reply, having landed on a branch in the tree top. The branches of the giant trees were weak this high up and bent under the raptor's weight, but from up top he could see the island. Behind him, the tree top slowly rose up, with breaks exposing rocky inclines to the North. Low clouds seem to hang directly over the sea of green. Off his side, he saw the very edge of the shore line, where ocean met the sand in white spray. Most of the beach was obscured by lower trees. With his sense of direction restored, Aircrest began to work his way back to more stable branches while heading towards the shore.

a low growl came from Hunter as he picked up the scent of an intruder. a Rex. it was as if the other superpredators had nothing better to do than invade the family's territory endlessly. well....Hunter would be sure to fix that little problem with this particular intruder...

The rhythmic thump of footfalls began to reverberate through the trees surrounding the intruding Rex as Hunter approached. he was still well out of visual range, with the trees only furthering the fact. but the scent was luring him to it just as easily as if he could see it...it smelled weak. the scent of blood was almost abscent, what little of it being present being days old. that told him that it hadn't eaten in a long time. Hunter's eyes narrowed. a frequent cause for territorial invasion...hunger. hungry Tyrannosaurs had a tendency to be surprisingly deceptive and aggressive. his father had told him how weak predators tended to play on their weakness to lull him into a false sense of security, getting close before exerting a surprising amount of power in a sudden burst. more than once it had almost cost Crusher his life in his early years, before he wisened up to the trick, and even employed it himself from time to time. Hunter moved onwards, the Rex keeping in mind what he had been told to keep him from being taken by surprise...

OoC: rest? dude, there wouldn't be enough time for him to sleep. if he tried it'd only be a few minutes before it was interrupted. nor would there be time for a random animal to walk up and die in front of him conveniently.

Hunter growled lowly as he approached. the scent was getting stronger; an indication he was getting closer...

Fatalis eyed Sylicora, conscerned. "Sy....are you alright?" he growled, uncomfortable about the situation but needing to at least try and resolve it...

Sylicora blinked, dragging her gaze away from the trees she had watched Aircrest disappear into, glancing at Fatalis almost as if she had forgotten he was there. "Uh... Yeah, just thinking about... things." she mumbled, inwardly shaking herself. What Aircrest had said made alot of sense once she'd calmed down enough to let it sink in, but the stubborn part of her still didn't want to accept it. Starting to come back to the present, she inquired, "So, how come you came to find me? Are they expecting me back at the cave by now or something?" Upon saying this, she realized she'd lost track of time and probably would have continued walking further than intended if her train of thought hadn't been broken...

Fatalis nodded. "They're worried. hell, we're all worried about you, myself included. Rhojis in particular is a mess. in a corner, barely talking. can't say if he's eaten anything since he spoke to you. he's really beating himself up over what happened" hissed the Raptor seriously

For a moment, the olive raptor was speechless. Even though she had been reluctant to let the grudge go a minute earlier, something inside her sank at those words. "I... I... d-don't know what to say..." She had completely forgotten about the possibility that her explosive reaction could have hurt him that much. The thought had crossed her mind that he probably wasn't exactly happy, but not eating? "I was so mad... just never thought..." Tail tip almost touching the ground, she shook her bowed head slowly, feeling like any anger that had swelled in her before had deflated and sagged as much as her body. No matter how she felt about him, Rhojis was still family...

"Look Sy. I understand you were angry at not being told about what happened. I can't say i blame you. But the mere thought of how much it would hurt you to know terrified Rhojis. he didn't want to see you upset. that's why he held it back. The way it seemed to me, Rhojis had just found you after a long time of being seperated. he didn't want the first few things he said to you to be such horrible news. It was his fear of upsetting you and driving you off that made him do what he did. when it backfired, it crushed him. he's been drowning in his own guilt ever since" growled Fatalis, conscern in his eyes...

The beast redirected away from the two Rexes, going further around the territory he ultimately intended to invade. before he went there...there was something he had to do....little did he know his ultimate opponent followed him...

Lurker continued to dig into what remained of the Stegosaurus, the amount of flesh still on the carcass being just enough to fill him up. Above his head, the sounds of shrieking echoed all around, as a small flock of Pterodactylus flew up above the canopy of the jungle, looking for swarms of insects to devour...

"Switchblade?" Zheja growled with a surprised snort, looking up from behind the bush. "What about Switchblade?" he continued, clearly confused.

The olive raptor didn't look up, simply staring sullenly at the ground, listening silently. The word 'fear' stirred something in her. She had been wondering if it was fear that held him back, but couldn't seem to gather the strength to hold a grudge any longer. If he really wasn't being selfish and neglectful as she'd thought, and was just afraid of driving her away, then there was never any reason to be angry at him at all... On the contrary, the olive raptor felt a sting of guilt that she had done exactly what Rhojis tried so hard to prevent... "I hope Siri and the others don't worry too much, but... think I should go back to our cave," she hissed in a low voice tinged with sorrow. "It... was wrong to run out on everyone... I can't let Rhojis think this was all his fault..."

Fatalis arched his tail over Sylicora's back, growling "Don't worry about Siri and the others. I'll pay them a visit tomorrow. for now, let's just get back home". he walked forward, but keeping by the female's side supportively...

the beast picked up another scent in it's passing. the scent of another Giga. one who his master had warned him of. one that would pose a hinderence to his cause. with a snort, the beast pressed on...

Crusher however was not far behind. he too picked up the second scent. he recognised it as one that he had smelled faintly near his border during his first patrol. a hit and run invader. perhaps he could kill two birds with one stone. the Tyrannosaur smirked at the prospect. his work may just be taking care of itself...

"Im going to take Rose to see her. Back on that other island, Aircrest and I left her with Rose, before we all got caught. This'll be the first time we speak snout to snout since then" Hazel growled, looking over her shoulder at the black and white raptor. He seemed to know the Liliensternus from somewhere as well, so she growled "You want to come along, or stay behind that bush the entire day?"

Sylicora said nothing, but gave a minute nod of understanding as she started to pad quietly toward home, trying to think of something to say to her brother. She silently hoped they wouldn't reach the cave too quickly so she would have time to think of something that might convey how she felt...

Rose shifted her weight, eager to be off, her toe claws almost kneading the earth beneath them.

Siri had made sure the hatchlings had each gotten an equal share of the meat the hunters had brought back. Now she was tearing into her own share, a nearly inaudible hum of pleasure coming from the black female as rich young para flesh slid down her throat. Inculta had finished his off and was keeping an eye on Silver's young and Banescale. The injured raptor, too, had been given his fair share. Astus and Viridis were tearing chunks of their own from the carcass of one of the young herbivores, the mottled green female keeping an eye out for Fatalis and Sylicora in case they returned. Mwuaji had assumed watch duty again after finishing his meal.

Carus was eying Thistle's portion. The small female almost never defended herself when he stole bits of her meals. In fact, the only time he didn't get away with it was when his mother actually saw him stealing, which wasn't often. He inched closer, drawing his neck back like a snake ready to strike. Steelclaw and Thistle, chattering away like compies, didn't notice as he snagged a bite of his sister's share of the kill. The satisfaction of a few extra bites, stolen from his siblings, was sweeter than any meat to him.

"...I'm good here, thanks." Zheja responded after a moment, yawning. While he remembered the Lili from quite a while back, the black and white raptor wasn't exactly motivated to accompany them...after all, Switchblade was an acquaintance at best.

"I thought as much" Hazel thought with a shrug, looking away from Zheja. "Well keep yourself safe while we're gone. Dont let the compies think your carrion and things like that" She growled as she started to walk off towards the beach, treading over the leaf litter.
