Blue strip lowered his head down, tearing a strip of flesh from the corpse of the Styracosaur he had just killed. Throwing his head back, the rex swallowed the meat before he began to look around, sniffing the air at the same time. He was wary that another predator might come along and try to take the kill that he had made the effort to make and he had no intention of giving it up easily. After a minute, Blue stripe resumed feeding, knowing that he was alone for the time being with no other scents having reached his nose...

though Fatalis couldn't hear what was being said due to the siblings' muffled voices, the sight of a smile gracing Sylicora's features was enough to put him at ease. the problem seemed to be solved...

Insurgus roared at the monsterous Giga, which responded by charging at him, opening it's jagged jaws as it lunged, Insurgus sidestepping the charge and slamming his head into it's flank, though the beast had anticipated the blow, and clamped it's jaws shut on the Giga's back as it threw it's legs to the side for support, leaving several gashes in Insurgus' back and almost pulling him down, the red and brown beast being saved from the fall by Insurgus' well planted feet and strong form, the giga roaring in pain at the bite to his back before slamming his skull into the Beast's back repeatedly. the monster let go and backed away, snarling viciously at the Giga, blood-tainted saliva dripping from it's jaws as it lined itself up for another attack. Insurgus wouldn't let it though. the Giga lunged and lowered it's head, swinging it up like a massive organic warhammer into the beast's lower jaw, knocking it back and dazing it, Insurgus continuing the assault by swinging his head sideways into the abomination, making it hiss in pain just before being gripped by the neck, Insurgus snarling as he prepared to finish the attacker, only to be clawed in the neck by the beast's talons, almost slitting his throat, Insurgus immediately letting go and backing away defensively, wary of how close he had come to death at that moment. the beast boomed furiously and lunged while the Giga was distracted, repeating it's enemy's attack almost perfectly, it's head swinging upwards into Insurgus' lower jaw, raking across his throat with it's jagged head scales as he was knocked back, before lunging forward and headbutting the Giga, which stumbled backwards with a groan of pain...

as the beast stepped forward to end the fight, a booming roar echoed behind him, the caws of birds audible in the wake of the earth shattering bellow, the Beast turning to face the source with a snarl, Insurgus making use of the chance to escape, retreating, leaving his attacker to face the Patriarch alone. Crusher snarled lowly as he stepped out of the treeline, the trees swaying in his wake, the Patriarch grunting as he eyed the monstrosity. "So....you're the abomination pestering the predators around here. You'll learn in time that i don't take kindly to pests" rumbled the Tyrannosaur as his eyes narrowed, amber orbs staring into the Giga's own yellow ones, seemingly capable of seeing right into it's soul. "ROOK.....WILL......DESTROY....YOU" rattled the Giga furiously as it eyed Crusher, blood-soaked fangs bared. "Rook will die trying" responded Crusher calmly, his own massive fangs bared in a menacing scowl...

Not quite sure how she could properly express her gratitude to her brother, Sylicora changed the subject, hissing tentatively, "Well... Should we go back up and see the others? Let them know everything's okay?" Even as she said this, knowing Rhojis had put her rash actions behind him, she still felt a strange speck of guilt at the back of her mind and knew it would probably be a while before it went away- before she could forgive herself entirely... "Yeah, good idea," growled the gray raptor as he turned toward the stairway, Sylicora starting to walk slowly by his side across the cave. "And maybe we can ask Fatalis when the next hunt is going to be. I'm starving," he added. The olive raptor barely hid a wince as the lingering guilt stabbed at her again. She had almost forgotten that particular side effect of her departure, and realized she hadn't thought much about food herself while she was away. "Come to think of it, I wouldn't say no to something to eat either," she murmured as she reached the natural staircase and started climbing, Rhojis following close behind...

Fatalis eyed the siblings, walking up to them and growling "What say we go get ourselves something to eat?"...

the Giga roared angrily as it charged at the Rex, Crusher's eyes narrowing to slits just as it closed in for the blow, the Rex suddenly taking a step forward into a semi crouch, before powering himself up under the Giga, the blow knocking it clean off it's feet, sending it barreling sideways and slamming flank first into a tree, which shook violently, leaves raining down over the fallen beast as Crusher turned to face it, a rattling snarl coming from the Tyrannosaur...

As the raptors reached the top, Sylicora glanced at Fatalis and nodded immediately. Now that a good amount of stress had been taken off their shoulders, they were more than willing to help in the search for food. "Definitely," hissed Rhojis as he stepped up beside her. "We're starving... "

"Yeah," Rose growled. "I doubt many of us know exactly where we are, or where the prey around here is...and the bigger predators will be looking for an easy snack." She shivered. I might have been snapped up myself, if I hadn't run into Selena, she thought.

Fatalis smirked, nodding. "Then let's get some food, shall we?" he growled. "Howler, you come with us. Renegade and Pulsar, stand watch. After we're done and have had our meals, I'll be expecting you wo to demonstrate to Sylicora, Rhojis and Howler how to fight. you two being the more seasoned hunters, i think you'd be the best to demonstrate" he added as he eyed the two, giving them warning to be ready before turning and leading onwards towards the jungle. "Let's move. I noted the scent of Tenontosaur not far from here on the way back. best we get moving so we can catch up" he hissed...

the Giga rose, snorting irritably before striding towards him, a notable limp in it's right leg from the blow Crusher had dealt. as it closed in it craned it's neck, swinging it's head down, Crusher sidestepping to avoid the massive skull, some of the head scales grazing the side of his neck as the Rex bit onto the Giga's upper back, sidestepping and swinging his head in a compound movement to send the Giga stumbling forward, the Giga stopping itself just short of another tree and turning to face the Rex with an angry snarl, noticing the Rex was using grappling moves to turn it's own attacks against it and swiftly gathering it's senses to try and come up with a counter, Crusher eying the Giga coldly, slowly walking towards him, the ground quaking beneath the Tyrannosaur's mighty strides...

Howler nodded. "Uh, right, that sounds good..." He glanced at Sylicora, then abruptly looked away, suddenly embarrassed with himself. He visibly swallowed, then straightened, trying to act normal...

The siblings started to move off after Fatalis, Rhojis slightly in the lead, Sylicora pausing half a second longer as she caught Howler's look from the corner of her eye, shooting a brief sideways glance of her own just as he looked away. Was it her imagination, or was something amiss? She though in silence for a few seconds, almost coming to the conclusion that the stress of recent events was causing her to hear things. It took a few moments to recall how, when she had arrived earlier, she'd brushed past Howler with little more than a blank, distracted glance when he was obviously glad to see her come back. Could that be bothering him? Or was it the muttered conversation between he and Fatalis she vaguely heard as she descended the rock stairway? She gave Rhojis a sideways glance, slowing ever so slightly so she could drop in behind him as he weaved in between two closely spaced trees and walked on through the undergrowth. For a few seconds, all that could be heard was the gentle swishing of leaves, then after another moment of thought, the olive raptor swerved slightly toward the green male and hissed quietly, "Everything alright?"

Goldeye and Lightfoot continued to fish, the latter lifted his head up, letting a large catfish slide down his throat. "That's enough for me." the male Ceratosaur groaned, his injured leg hurting him at the moment. He turned and began to limp off toward the cave, leaving Goldeye to continue to fish. Thankfully, they could just fish here for months without running out of fish, due to the swamp being connected to a large river. In said river lived a very large population of catfish, some of which entered into the swamp in search of insects and frogs to eat...

Howler, who had been staring at the ground, trying to seem busy with looking around, jumped noticeably, but swiftly regained his composure. "Huh? Oh, um, I'm fine! Yeah, just fine..." After a pause, he added, "I'm... I'm sorry about earlier. I guess I shouldn't have been so insensitive about you and Rhojis when you came back..."

Sylicora tilted her head slightly, giving a sort of half-shrug. "Well, s'okay... Don't worry about it..." she hissed in the same quiet tone, not wanting to speak too loudly while they were getting closer to potential prey. "Everything's good now... Looking back at it though, I guess I was a little... dismissive..."

Howler perked up at that. "Really? But, well, Fatalis certainly didn't appreciate it, and he IS our pack leader..." He scratched the scarred side of his face. "Dismissive about what, exactly?" he asked, staying quiet as well...

"All too true, but I have a decent idea where we are" Hazel replied as she maneuvered through the vegetation. From what she gathered from her surroundings though, she knew she was somewhere near the southern part of the island. Further north, there is no beach. Just a straight drop to violent churning waves when the weather is rough, with jagged rocks poking up from the surf. Through the swaying leaves, she thought she could make out saurian shapes. A familiar orange crest caught her eye through the ferns. Hazel silently pressed past the last of the plants between her and the group of Liliensternuses just beyond, not wanting to intrude on anything going on, but from what she could tell, they werent doing anything, just resting. Reassured, she continued on as normal, poking her head out of the shrubs with a soft rustle to announce her pressence to the long necked carnivores.

Thorn turned his head at the rustle, orange eyes wary. Spotting a raptor's head, he lifted his snout and sniffed. In his experience, where there was one raptor, more weren't far behind. But it was strange...he could only smell two scents, one making some half-forgotten memory stir in his mind. But has he tried to place why it was familiar, a shroud seemed to fall over his thoughts, leaving him groping through fog.

Rose moved to Hazel's side, sniffing curiously. Yes - there was Switchblade's scent alright. And the other unfamiliar ones. They must be all together - or at least, close enough that the scents had drifted from somewhere else and mingled, though that was a bit of a long shot.

"Well, I sort of... pretty much ignored you... I don't even remember what I said to you on the way by... Come to think of it, I don't remember what you or Fatalis said either..." Sylicora hissed honestly, looking slightly apologetic...

Haze's ice-blue eyes snapped open, immediately looking toward the source of the sound, though she didn't move to get up. Always extremely wary of unknown creatures, she didn't want to do anything that could start a confrontation... A few feet away, a green and gray head rose up from behind a fern bush, orange, black-spotted crests contrasting brightly in the direct sunlight. It wasn't so much the sound that had caused her to look up, but the scents. A hopeful feeling suddenly welled inside the Lili and she quickly got to her feet, immediately recognizing the head poking through the foliage. "Hazel? What are you doing here?" she hissed in surprise, her mouth curving into a smile as she gazed into the forest, hoping she wasn't just imagining the second scent...

Howler paused, surprised, then smiled sheepishly. "Hey, don't worry about it. I'm used to being ignored anyway..." he added with a small chuckle.

Rapture hesitated a moment when he heard Switchblade speak, already half way into the foliage. Upon scenting the raptors, the Lili was quite content on getting away as quickly as possible. But since this was yet another acquaintance...his departure might be seen as rude. Moving out of the ferns, Rapture sat himself back down quietly, hoping his actions weren't noticed...

"She's helping me make sure you're alright," Rose growled, stepping forward. "I was worried when I woke and couldn't find you."

Thorn glanced at Rapture, inclining his head slightly. The other male lili didn't seem too keen on staying with others of their kind. He gave a small twitch of the tail, a gesture intended to mean Go if you like.

"Its good to see that you made it back home alright, Switchblade" Hazel growled, before looking to the others around her. Two males and two females, she couldnt help but snicker when she said "Friends of yours?" with a bark
