"I would advise against annoying me, Zero. The last thing you want is for ME to want to torture you....Death will seem like a blessing if you push me that far" warned Gaara...

JoJo came to the door where the demon's scent trail ended. He let out a bark to announce his pressence, the tendril shooting around the door knob. The knob twisted and the dog pushed to door open, stepping inside the room as the tendril snaked back into his body...

Ira reached out to mockingly caress Zero's cheek when he'd stopped trying to bite though he couldn't move. "What was it that you told me, when your people picked me up off the streets?" she murmured, taking her hand away and wiping it off on her pants as if she'd touched something repulsive. "'You'll be safe with us,' you said. 'We're not cruel. We'll help you.'" "You wouldn't have lasted three days on your own," Zero growled, his lip curling. "You'd have ended up in the gutter somewhere, stabbed. You were so naive, too trusting...and you still are." "Oh, my bloody hero," Ira snarled, baring her teeth. "You see yourself as the good guy, claiming to have saved me, when you made me murder my own parents." She clenched her hands into fists, feeling herself start to shake. "You stole them from me - stole my chance to ask them why they didn't try harder, to try and make them see what they did wasn't the only choice!" "They wouldn't have listened," the older demon spat, his cruel green eyes narrowing. "They would have turned you away again." "I'll never know if they would have or not, thanks to you," Ira said bitterly, stepping back. "All I have now are the nightmares of them begging me not to slit their throats." She swallowed hard, trying to keep the tears from her eyes. "All I have are questions and no answers." There was a short pause. Then he hissed, "Not knowing is better, child. The truth would only bring you pain." Ira's temper suddenly flared. "How the hell would YOU know? There's no way to talk to them when they're six feet under! You don't know what would've happened! You don't know if they would've turned me away or welcomed me. So just...just shut your damn lying mouth!" Zero let out another furious snarl.

Gaara decided to remind Zero of his situation. raising a half open palm, he balled it into a mildly tightened fist, a series of horrible snaps being heard throughout his crippled, marinating body as bones were broken. "Anything else, Ira?" he asked...

Ira thought for a second before she looked at her former leader and spat hard, clearing her mouth and throat of the tears that had built up. It hit Zero's cheek, and he made a noise that was partly disgusted and angry, but mostly pained as his bones were broken seemingly effortlessly. "Rot in hell," the young teen said in an eerily cheerful, high-pitched childlike voice. She widened her eyes innocently and smiled as she gave a little wave as if he were merely going for a quick trip.

Tiffany grunted as she gave one final push, the girl barely pushing the cyborg onto the operating table, Meta-Ridley having been shut down for the tim being as Tiffany looked over the injuries and sand covering the dragon. "What on arth did this to you, Ridley? "Tiffany sighed before sh set off to work, she began to repair the dragon up, skills she had aquired from her father, whom had been a master mechanic before his untimely demise...

Gaara tightened his fist, as the sands closed in, grinding away Zero's body from the bottom upwards, pulling the corpse inwards and breaking it down, the shifting sands turning red with blood as the body was utterly destroyed, nothing being left of the demon at the end of it, the sands returning to the gourd. "Better?" he asked Ira...

"Much," Ira replied, rolling her shoulders as she would if she were stretching her wings out. It was a habit that she'd developed because she was tired of waking up with stiff and sore shoulder muscles after every flight. She longed to fly again, but injured...it was probably a bad idea.

"So, Vapor" SpeedFreak said as he walked about the craft, inspecting the strange machines scattered about the ship. "One thing's still bugging me... whats with your powers? You a mutant too?" Vapor's head perked up from what he was doing with the symbiote sample at the table. He turned about to look at the boy. "Im no mutant, I assure you Earth-born. The fact of the matter is...every Ascatian is able to manipulate the water around us. From birth"
"Woah" The hero replied. "All of you? Every...what-cha-ma-callit... Amrillios-born?"
"Just say Ascatian. And yes. Not much is known about it though. Eons into our evolution, our ancestors say they learned how to tap into the energies around them...and create a physical influence. Our power to control liquids increase with age and practice. Ascatian elders are highly revered because of this." Galaak said.
"Cool. So...what can you do with your power? Other than give someone a pounding with it?" SpeedFreak asked.
" I can pull the water vapor in the air around us and turn it liquid and manipulate it like that...or I can freeze it into what ever shape I want and vice versa." The Ascatian answererd.
"Weird how your name ends up being Vapor in English, then" The boy said.
"Rough translation. Its Galaak. Galaak Taalrik of the Ascatian empire"
"Well that rolls off the tongue. How about I just call you....Gal?"
"Gal...?" Vapor paused for a moment, before saying "Gal. It has a...feel to it"
"So, Gal. What about those ship protocols?"

The alien took a deep breath. This would be a long speech

The frantic sloshing of water echoed around the sewer, the symbiote ignoring the filth around it, moving throughout-or, rather, underneath-the city, undetected...for now. Although the alien creature was more animal then sentient, it knew what a danger those two were. After running through the sewers for a time, Havoc stopped, looking up as dim light was cast down into the dank depths...

Topside, a manhole suddenly rocketed into the air, a red blur soon following, the metal lid smashing down onto a nearby car, shattering its windshield and setting off the alarm. As Havoc landed, he bellowed angrily, swinging around and latching onto the car with two large tendrils, completely lifting the vehicle off the ground, before sending it smashing into the entrance of an abandoned apartment building, partially shattering the front of the building, sending debris in all directions. Satisfied now that the alarm stopped, Havoc darted into an alleyway...

"Good" responded Gaara. "Now, let's get indoors. I want to find out what's going on in the city. sounds like something big happened" he added as he headed for the door, aiming for the TV...

Ira followed, cracking her knuckles in an effort to ease her frayed nerves with a familiar action. "If the news channel wasn't pulling a well thought out stunt, it was something big," she remarked, the footage shown on TV coming back to her.

Yoruichi, absorbed in a book balanced against one knee, didn't notice Jojo come in. She liked the fact that the story flowed so smoothly and kept her interested, puzzling over things and trying to connect the dots as she read. Sometimes she could figure things in the plot of a good book out before they were revealed - other times the clues were less obvious, but she still let out an "ahh" of understanding when pieces of the puzzle snapped into place.

As Tiffany continued to repair the cyborg, sand kept of falling out of all the joints, cracks, and open places in the dragon. "What the heck did this to you, Ridley?" Tiffany moaned as she ushed a small button on the top of the dragon's head, a white disk ejected from the side of his jaw, Tiffany grabbed the disk, then went over to the computer and put it in, al the footage and sound recordings Meta-Ridley had taken played on the sceen...

"-And thats why you dont touch the electron convertor while the Zeprand Stabalizer is operational" Galaak concluded, going down a list projected from his wrist device. Once done, he let his arm drop.
"...Wow." SpeedFreak replied. "...That was in English, and I still didnt understand what you said" Galaak prepared to take another breath.
"BUT....I get the point...dont touch anything..." The boy quickly shot out, wanting to avoid a repeat.
"...In simple terms, yes." Galaak said, turning back to his sample. He wasted no time. "Goggles" He growled in his alien language. The grasper released the sample and retracted into the ship's paneling, reappearing soon after with a black strap in it's small pointed fingers. It slid it over the pilot's head, Galaak's eyes covered by black ovals. The mechanical hand took the vial again when Galaak growled "Gloves" Instead of the arm getting them though, two holes appeared when part of the metal table slid back. The alien placed his hands inside. When he took them out, they were in black, leathery gloves. "Genetic Decoder" He said, another part of the table flipping up, revealing a fairly large spherical device. It had a panel with keys marked by the symbols, a green display over them. Galaak took the vial and popped off the cork, placing the sample into a slot in the machine. The screen lit up, a double helix appearing...

SpeedFreak's attention had taken him to the front of the craft. He looked back. Galaak was hard at work, fiddling with his sample. With a smug smirk, the boy sat down in his chair, eyes passing over the various screens. He wondered what the symbols that constantly ran across them meant. "Dont touch anything" He reminded himself. "Other than the chair, that is..."

JoJo rummaged through a drawer, standing on his hind legs and bracing on the slideer, looking for anything he could use. Sure enough, he found a peice of paper. Slightly rumpled and dog eared, pardon the expression. JoJo took it out with his mouth and pushed himself off the drawer, closing it as he dropped back onto all four's. He moved over to the shape shifter, putting the paper infront of her

as Gaara entered the building and reached the lounge, he grabbed the remote, turning on the TV.

"..-day in downtown Manhatten, what appears to be some kind of aircraft streaked across the sky, seemingly following a fight between two so-called 'mutants' locked in combat below. After pursuit by numerous branches of government run organisations it mysteriously vanished, leading many to believe this may be the signs of a war. The U.S. Airforce was unavailable for comment. We now bring you some Eye Witness reports on the events, first hand". Gaara watched as a sloppily filmed phone cam clip caught a glimpse of a craft flying overhead, diagonally, a chopper in pursuit. A woman's voice began speaking, identified as Caroline Webb; a 32 year old accountant from Lower Manhatten. "This thing just zipped overhead. it made a strange sound. it was higher pitched than a jet engine. and it moved so easily you wouldn't believe it was a plane. I think this is a warning. We've p*beep*d someone off and they mean business". another video appeared on the screen, this one from an office in one of the high rises in the city, a distant view of the craft flying past the building several floors below. "Oh, i think it's perfectly plausible. America's a powerful country and we've fought alot of wars. most not on our own soil. i have no doubt that we've picked a fight with someone with alot of tech in their hands. only question left is 'just what is the U.S. Government gonna do about it?'" said a man, Jacob Burnstein, a 56 year old assistant electronic technician working for Electrotek incorperated. the vid then switched to an older video taken somewhere in Nevada. the name Jason Sheffield came up. 23 year old radio station operator. "My brother saw that thing fly out of the mountains somewhere in Nevada yesterday! He said it shot outta there like a bat outta hell. I'm tellin you man! Our government is run by aliens! that's one of their craft! they're gonna call their friends soon, then they'll be invadin us! the end is nigh brothers and sisters! prepare fo-". the call was cut off, the reporter's voice coming on again. "We appologise for that ladies and gentlemen. We can assure you there is no proof as of yet to confirm any kind of alien existence to support this mad claim" said the reporter, before the screen switched to a different angle, showing the craft flying past a window, a chopper flying past after it. "And now, Peter Burns with the weather". Gaara glanced at Ira. "Big indeed....seems like i missed all the fun" he said...

The corner of Ira's mouth twitched. "You had a different kind of fun to make up for it, it would seem."

The black-haired teen looked up at the ink hound, cocking her head slightly to one side. Her scarlet gaze was glinting with curiosity. "What's up?"

JoJo growled softly as he put a paw on the paper, streams of ink spreading out from it. Slowly, the snaking tendrils across the page spelt out "They're back"

"Her room, last I knew," Ira replied, brushing her bangs out of her eyes. Note to self - cut bangs so they're not always in my eyes. "Your best bet is she's still there."

"Gaara's back? Good - I need to ask him what that text was all about," Yoruichi said, getting to her feet and setting the book on her bed.
