"You wont have to worry about meeting me, doctor, I dont want to be close to you either!" David said aloud, thinking "You disturbed piece of ****..." afterwards. He questioned the man's contribution to the mission. While finding survivors was one of his objectives, this one seemed to be a liabillity than anything else. The fact that he survived this long and managed to secure the facillity's controls only boggled his mind, but he didnt linger on the thought, instead focusing on the Dilophosaur infront of him.

Jacob sighed. "Doctor, in a volatile environment, a good head and a twitchy trigger finger are what keep you alive. You can hide all you like, but you're never getting to safety that way" he said. deciding the conversation had outlived it's uses, he continued forward down the corridor, towards the room up ahead. he had glanced what seemed like 'Lab' on the plaque of one of the corridors in that room, and as he had yet to find another path, he assumed that was likely his only access to other areas of the facility at the moment. he'd pass through there, and then search for the security room, where the Doctor was undoubtedly hiding. then he could decide what to do. As he went, he kept a wary eye on his environment, senses scanning for the slightest hint that something was amiss, his hand steady but ready to draw and fire at the slightest hint of trouble...

It was only when Jacob started to move did David lower his gun. He kept up pace with his comrade, but was ready to snap himself around, pull the trigger and end the crested creature should it decide to finally attack.

"It's not like you're the only ones looking for me!" Jenkins said, his voice following Jacob and David. "I appear to be quite popular..." Clarence continued to follow the two, just as cautious as before...

"Please tell me he means the hungry lizards lined outside his door waiting to rip his legs off" David said to Jacob as they went on their way. "If they shut him up, it would prove that they arent all bad"

"That, or the League of Dysfunctional Misfits" responded Jacob absently as he continued onwards, reaching the room, glancing back and forth at the corridors. there were four corridors in all. he knew that two, the one he was coming from and the one on his right, led to the Main Hall. the one up ahead led to a small storage room for various supplies, some janitorial and others office supplies like paper and ink. to the left, was a hallway leading to "Lab Sections A,B&C" according to the plaque on the top of a wooden double-door. undoubtedly what lay beyond would change to better suit a lab environment. but they would simply have to see for themselves. Jacob went down the hallway, pulling the door aside and heading forward, his assault rifle at the ready...

Jenkins' voice crackled over the PA near Barnes' team. "Your... friends are most likely on their way to me. They seem smart, if a bit pretentious. Where did you find them anyway? I don't believe they have a liking for you. Or anyone, for that matter." "Yes, well, a**holeishness usually isn't listed in psych reports, Doctor," Barnes growled. "Let's keep moving. We should be almost there."

The first lab the two mercs arrived in was dark, as always, so it was hard to see much of anything. Computers and sterilized countertops lined the walls, with various other machines, some familiar, some completely foreign to the humans, situated throughout the white-walled room. There was a scuttling, then a loud crash as a glass beaker smashed on the floor, a small shape scampering across a nearby table, chirping in alarm...

After entering the doorway, David let go of his gun, letting it hang off his side by its strap as he pulled the doors shut and pulled down latches at the side of both frames, locking the entrance. He had enough of the Dilophosaur's hooting, and relished the opportunity to keep it away from him. He then readied his Tavor and continued with Jacob down the hallway.

shifting his gaze towards the target the moment he heard the sound, Jacob got a clear view of what it was through his night vision scope as it scampered across the table, training his sights on it, contemplating shredding it with gunfire or leaving it be, taking note of it's surroundings as he eyed it, in case there was something in the background watching them...

It turned out that the little creature was nothing more than a startled Compsognathus. It chirped again, scampering underneath a table on the far side of the room. Clarence looked through the windows in the door, hooting again, nudging the doors with his snout. The locks on the doors were rusty and not particularly strong to begin with, but it could likely hold back a Dilophosaurus...

"Did you manage to spot that thing?" David asked Jacob, taking the fact his friend hadnt opened fire as a sign the danger of the creature was low.

"Another one of the egg-munchers" responded Jacob, referring to one they met in the jungle earlier. with that, he continued through the room, scanning widely through the night-vision scope for a sign of a threat, also taking in what surrounded him, figuring out just where he was. On the other end of the room, he spotted another plaque, stating 'Lab Sections A,B,C'. this must be a minor test lab thought Jacob. most likely for quick work. perhaps blood tests or investigations of various food options for the animals. seeing no reason to stay, he continued on through the room, wide, steady sweeps from his assault rifle helping him keep a close eye on the surroundings for traces of a potential threat, his own razor-sharp senses contributing to the preventive shield...

Lab Section A was a truly massive room, multi-leveled, with what looked like a massive on-way window on the right-hand wall. Catwalks lined the walls above the window, extending across the lab's perimeter. All sorts of machinery and lab equipment filled the area, from small testing areas to large glass containers, most of which were shattered. One, however, was intact, and held what looked like the embryo of a dinosaur, sitting serenely in some sort of the fluid. The fluid was horrid, ruined after months of neglect, greenish and murky. The embryo inside was no doubt dead. There were more computers as well, but they all appeared to be inactive. Several machines appeared to hold artificial nests full of now-rotting vegetation, with the exception of a few, which seemed to be fresh. One of these nests even held several live eggs, likely those of a small animal that had made its home here, probably a Compsognathus. Indeed, another of the fuzzy orange creatures appeared, hopping on a table near the nest and squeaking at the human intruders, splaying its arms threateningly...

"Goody. Lets hope its not like Clarence back there" David grumbled as he kept going, constantly glancing backwards, peering into the darkness with sharp eyes and listening keenly to his environment, hearing mostly silence. As it should be. Nothing lurking in the shadows would go undetected by the two soldiers. When he saw the other compy, he pulled out a knife from it sheath and dragged the blade across a nearby metal table, the shrill scraping noise would have been enough to send most small animals running with ringing ears.

The Compy squeaked again, recoiling, and hopping off the table, disappearing from sight in the dark laboratory...

The rest of the raptor pack followed, the youngsters in the center of the group. The females were alert, the subordinate males ready to fight or get the pack to safety. The younger raptors were obviously seeing this as a grand adventure and were bobbing their heads and giving little bounces of excitement.

Jacob glanced around the room, scanning the darkest spots with his night vision scope, his eyes doing a fair job of checking the lighter areas. Do they keep the genetic material for the dinosaurs here? tugged a thought at the corners of his mind, though doing nothing to break his focus...

David slipped the knife back in his sheath before gripping his gun once more, heading in behind Jacob and scouring the shadows for anything else hiding in the dark. "Its a shame that tax payer's dollars were wasted on this ****. Instead of just making the next super virus, we just had to go make dinosaurs" He muttered as he moved. "Then again, I dont pay taxes, so its not any loss to me"

That wasn't the only Compsognathus in the room. Several more seemed to appear in small clusters around the periphery of the laboratory, all of them staring at Jacob and David. There was dozens of the little dinosaurs, and the feathers on their bodies were fluffed up, the animals clearly agitated at the encroachment on their nesting site, probably mistaking the screech of the blade for the call of a predator...

The door at the opposite of Lab A, connecting directly to Section B, was a solid six inches of sliding steel door, hermetically sealed, with no visible means of opening it. In fact, the same contraption connected B to C, and C to the outside. Clearly, the other two labs weren't meant to be accessed by just anyone...

The older, lead males stayed in front of the pack, sniffing carefully along the corridor walls as they made their way along, deeper into the facility...

Another hallway finally led Barnes group right to a massive pair of steel doors, sealed shut. A single camera stared down at the mercs as they approached. With a hiss, the doors slowly slid open, revealing a large, cylindrical room before them. The security control center was symmetrical, with four doors at evenly-spaced intervals. Consoles seemed to dominate the rest of the room, with a large pillar of machinery taking up the center. The place was otherwise sparse. Sitting at a console to the group's right as they walked in was a somewhat short, balding made in his mid-40s. He clearly had not shaved in awhile, and his salt-and-pepper beard was ruffled and unkempt, though still relatively short. He wore a large lab coat, its former pristine whiteness darkened by dirt and stains. The man quickly stood up with an agility that belied his years, and approached the group, a grin on his face. He eagerly shook hands with each mercenary in turn (whether they wanted to touch him or not) and almost gave Dodgson a hug, before he managed to compose himself. With a clumsy, flourishing bow, he said, "Welcome, my friends, to my inner sanctum! Doctor Andrew Jenkins at your service!"

Maxwell was surprised at the old man. He's obviously been locked up here for a long time, Maxwell thinks to himself. "Howdy, Jenkins. How are you?"
