James watched Adline petting Rainbow. he said "He really likes you, you know. usually, anyone other than me who tries to pet him gets a hole in his hand. he obviously really enjoys your company. if you wake up one night and hear bird singing outside your cabin window, dont be surprised if it's Rainbow stopping in for a visit. he tends to do that with people he likes". Rainbow jumped off his perch, and landed on Adeline's shoulder, then started singing A Pirate's life for me, while swaying right and left as if drunk. James laughed, and said "If he's comfortable enough to do that with you, you know he already considers you a friend". Rainbow had reached the end of the song and squaked "DRINK UP ME HEARTIES YO HO! RAAAAAAAAAAAK!". James smiled. just like Jack...

Adeline clapped her hands after Rainbow was done singing A Pirate's Life for Me. She startled him a little when she started to clap, but settled down. "Marvelous, Rainbow, just marvelous," she praised as she stroked the bird on the belly. "He's very intelligent and can sing well. Probably we should perform a duet sometime," she suggested as she chuckled again.

Adeline noticed that James looked very handsome when he smiled. He had that good ol' Captain Jack smile. She wondered if he knew her feelings for him. She felt very comfortable to be herself around him. But she wondered if he felt the same for her. "I shouldn't let these feelings get in the way. I have to hold them back somehow. But it's going to be proven useless to do so." It was obvious, at least to Allen. Was it obvious for James too?

There was a silence in the quarters, a silence which was starting to feel a little uncomfortable. The girl turned her attention to the bird on her shoulder and continued stroking him. She didn't know what to say and hoped that something would break this silence...

James said "You know, a duet wouldn't be a bad idea. for the Night of Merriment". James watched Adeline's thoughtful expression while looking at him. he knew she had some feelings towards him. though he was surprised. he didn't think a decent women like her would like a swarthy pirate like himself. then again, she was an example of a good pirate herself, so perhaps that was why. he had his own feelings, but he had a knack for hiding things. apparently another inherent trait from his good old Dad...

James went over to Adeline, and tickled Rainbow's neck a bit. he was really enjoying the grooming session he was getting with all this petting and tickling. he started to make a sound that nearly made James drop to the ground laughing. Rainbow was making purring sounds, and it really looked funny coming from a Scarlet Macaw. after he had recovered from his laughing, he said "Adeline, hows about a bit of rum?". he was feeling thirsty after all that laughing, and guessed that Adeline might feel the same...

"Mm, yes," replied Adeline. Her mouth was feeling parched so she could use a good drink. "I don't know what I would do without rum. It is a very good drink."

She frowned when Yuke came in and mentioned a merchant ship sailing. "We just got out of battle. We should just take a small rest and leave the merchant ship alone." She didn't feel much like in a battling mood for the day. "As long as it doesn't start attacking us for no reason, then we're fine."

James said "hmmm.....Merchant ships can sometimes carry alot of cash. but, 2 things: firstly, we have those children aboard. Secondly: imagine what would happen if these children happened to be the sons of Nobles? we'd be given rewards far beyond what you could get out of a merchant fleet"...

Adeline shook her head. "Yuke, you worry too much. Plus, we're doing this for the good of the children and not for the money, right?" She eyed the two men before continuing. "I would just be happy to see the smiles on their faces when they get back to their rightful families."

James and Yuke stared at eachother, then at Adeline, and comically said "Not me" in unison. James said "Well, im just saying that these Animists would choose the wealthy over the poor. something to do with the old term "Blue Blood". the wealthy ones are supposedly more potent to their ritual than the poor. that's why im assuming there's a wealth of gold waiting for their rescuers. but, just in case, have your crews arm the cannons and prepare to fire, but keep the guns in and the gunports closed. if it comes to it, we can fire a broadside into the ships to scare them off. my guns are powerful enough to scare off most attackers, so im expecting it'll be easy to get rid of them"...

Adeline just rolled her eyes at the unified answer and listened to James' reasoning and plan. She yawned, feeling a little tired and wished that she knew the time.

sorry guys. been busy and distracted lately...

James said "Well, right now, we're a few miles from Port au Prince. we'll stop by there, hand in the children and collect the reward, then have our ships loaded up with supplies to go for the last trip. a straight path towards World's End". he then looked at a grandfather clock he had onboard the ship, looted off the Dauntless when it was captured, and said "Hmm...2:20 in the afternoon. i expect we'll arrive there by around 7 o'clock". he watched the 2 to see if they had anything to say. "RAAAAAAAAAAAAAK!" squaked Rainbow out of boredome at the lack of noise...

At the moment they had no assiaaginment and were doing some good honest ptirateing.

(welcome to the RP Doc 42! :) )

Adeline had nothing to say and was about to leave the cabin too, but the sound of Rainbow's squak made her stop at the door and reconsider about leaving for a minute. "No...no. James probably has something important to do anyway. I have to make sure the crewmen are alright..." She walked out of James' cabin and went to her own ship. Everything was going along great, for once.

Allen was surveying the crew carefully and spotted Adeline. He slyly walked over to her and gave her a smile. "You were there for quite sometime, Miss Adeline. How did everything go?"

She rolled her eyes and gave him a smile. "Allen, nothing happened. We just talked and had a small meeting...Yuke came by, so I wasn't alone. Anyway, why do you always have to make these assumptions? It's getting quite annoying."

He just let out a chuckle in response. "I like to annoy you sometimes. That's what friends sometimes do."

She changed the subject. "James said that we're going to be arriving around seven..." She trailed off as if in thought before continuing. "I'm going to have a small rest in my cabin. Make sure everything runs smoothly, ok?"

He nodded. "Enjoy your rest."

She smiled and walked away into her cabin, carefully closing the door behind her. She put her hand through her hair and noticed that she lightly brushed something that felt like velvet. "The rose..." She took it out of her hair and examined it. It was still as beautiful as ever. "And I have an appointment with you, the mysterious one sometime tonight." She sighed and placed the rose on her desk before going to her comfortable bed to lay down. Her eyes stared up at the wooden ceiling. She was deep in thought...
