John got up from a well-deserved rest. He looked at Vergil, who was still sleeping and thought, Better not wake him up, wouldnt want a cranky Vergil. He lifted up his shirt sleeve and saw a scratch on his left shoulder. He ripped off a small piece of his undershirt and made a make-shift bandagde. His shirt sleeve covered the scratch.Hope this doesnt get infected, He thought to himself,Zombie bites are the only things that infect people, atleast from what I've seen. He took a granola bar from his pack and started eating it.Better wait for Vergil, two heads are always better that one.

"Up already?" came Vergil's voice in the darkness. months of being on edge and nearly losing his life to his sleep had made him an extremely light sleeper. he was up almost the same instant John was. the sound of ripping had caught his attention. it was cloth. that put him on alert. why would John be ripping his own clothing?...

John jumped up,startled by Vergil, and turned around and said,"So you,ve woken up? I was beginning to think I was going to wait for you to wake up", he then notices Vergil's eyes looking at where he ripped his shirt and he pulls his shirt sleeve up,showing to make-shift bandage,"This is from that zombie in the car, when it tackled me,it either scratched my arm or the fall did. Besides when do zombie scratchis infect you, no bodily fluid like saliva or blood are involved." He looked at Vergil, waiting for his responce.

after a few seconds of silence, Vergil spoke. "John....tell me one thing. what do Zombies do when they can't find living people to feed on?"...

John realized what Vergil had said but then he remembered something important."That is a good point but there is one thing you forgot about the zombie that attacked me. It was trapped in that car for days. It was almost a skeleton. How could it get blood on its nails when it was trapped?" John realy hoped he didn't get infected, it would ruin his day.

"you said yourself it was trapped for days. it's been a years since this disaster happened. that means it was put there by a survivor who closed the door after it went after someone else. did you think of what it was doing before that?" asked Vergil...

"It might've been trapped for days. We don't know how much a zombie can survive without food. It might've been one of the first zombies and was stuck in there since the beginning of the infection, for all we know! The blood on its nails would've been dryed by now. And I'm not sure if it was a scratch from the zombie or from when I hit the ground!" John then lifted up his sleeve and took the make-shift bandage off and showed the wound to Vergil."What does it look like to you?!"

"Calm down, John. firstly, i can't exactly see very well in near darkness. secondly, YOU don't know how long they can last. I've spent the time to find out. a few weeks without food at the most. thirdly, it doesn't matter where you got the wound now. we can't change what's already happened. over in the corner there's a first aid kit. inside there's some bandages, some alchohol swabs and a glow stick so you can see what you're doing. try not to waste anything. i nearly lost my life to get ahold of it" said Vergil calmly...

"I'm sorry about this. The darkness makes me paranoid after one of my freinds was dragged into it. She was grabbed by a tentacle which pulled her into a sewer thru a manhole. I couldn't do anything about it. I'll use the least supplies of stuff in the first aid kit. Thanks for all the help, Vergil." John walked to the first aid kit. He didn't need the glowstick because the wound still hurt a bit. He took the cloth off of the wound and grabbed an alcohal swab and put it on the scratch. It hurt like heck. He took a bandage and put it on the general area of the wound. When he was done, he got up and said to Vergil," Are you ready to go, 'cause I am."

"Sun's not up yet. things'll be dark. alot of shadows. alot of places for things to hide. we'd better wait a few hours before moving, at least till dawn" said Vergil...

Nemesis glared at the vent for a few moments. unless he miraculously came across where the human left, he'd have no chance of finding it in this immense building. he turned away, deciding to wait a while before giving up entirely...the drafts his tendrils sensed within the vent told him that there were alot of height differences in the turn offs. if they were risky enough, there was a slight chance the human would come back. walking out of the shop, he went to a heavily shadowed area across from the shop, and waited...

The Licker was sleeping not far from a corner of the room of the apartment building it was currently located it. The Fastie hadn't followed him and the eyeless creature's patience had soon ended, having decided that if the Fastie wanted to fend for itself, then it would be left to living a life on it's own...

After climbing into it's home through a window,The Slasher got to eating.By the time he was done, there was nothing but a strangely shaped skeleton.Growling,he through the skeleton into a corner and jumped back out the window. That was the first kill in a few days.He decided to simply stalk around,to protect his "territory",in case more of the "komodo killers" came to kill him.

A few small, hunched zombies bounded down the sidewalk like animals, their faces covered by dirty masks that revealed only one of their eyes, though decaying flesh could be seen through various rips in the mask. As they passed a heavy metal door, a small object was thrown onto the sidewalk, where it rolled into the street. Immediately hearing the noise, the two zombies lept after the object, staring down at it in the darkness, disappointed that it wasn't prey. Suddenly, the object exploded in a flash of light, said light illuminating the entire street before dying down, the zombies unleashing muffled howls of pain, being nocturnal. Temporarily blinded and in pain from their worst enemy, light, the zombies bounded erratically up the street, crashing into various debris before disappearing into the darkness.

The Professor wrote down his observations on a tattered clipboard from inside the store...he was searching for an alternative to his usual "kill-them-with-fire" plan, considering he was running out of flammable liquids or gases. The flash bangs, crudely constructed from various parts that included fireworks, seemed to have a nice effect on the nocturnal zombies, and no effect on those who hunted during the day. The Professor went back to work, hoping to find a solution to said problem...

His attention grabbed by the howls of pain and crashing sounds,The Leaper snapped his head up,awakening from his sleep. He growled, having not eaten in a while.Jumping down,The Leaper waited for a second, listening.Suddenly,he darted off in the direction the sounds were coming from, his hands grabbing and reaching over any objects in his way, stopping anything from slowing him down...

Attracted by the flash of light, a pair of Hellhounds loped along the sidewalk, snarling and growling audibly as they looked around for the source, considering it most likely meant prey. One of the wolfish creatures limped up to the metal door and sniffed, occasionally clawing at the barrier with a rotting paw...

"Hey John....it's time" said Vergil calmly several hours later. he had been cleaning the gun he found in the car, making sure it was in good condition to lessen the risk of it jamming. he now had them in his pockets. his older gun, HIS gun, was kept in the left coat pocket, while the new one was in the right. he'd more likely get an accurate hit if he used a gun he knew well, and these days, where you hit was everything...

Another small device rolled out from the armored mail slot, landing a short distance from the door before exploding in a blindingly bright flash, blinding the two hounds and lighting the entire street once again, a few loud curses coming from inside the door itself, the Professor having forgot to avert his eyes...

The Hellhounds howled in anger and shook their heads, momentarily stunned by the bright light. However, unlike the previous zombies, the Hellhounds weren't damaged too severely, ad the one farthest from the light charged at the door, slamming bodily into it, shaking the metal noticeably, growling and barking fiercely...

Due to his super hearing,The Leaper heard everything that had happened, which made him even hungrier.Roaring he charged through the street, coming closer and closer.in a second or so,he would be in full view of anyone on or looking at the streets...

As it wandered the streets in search of a human or other zombie to feed on, the undead Gorilla faintly heard the leaper's roar. Deciding that it could possibly gain a meal by following the other zombie, the larger beast began to head in the direction that the roar had come from...
