Persephone took one last look back at Bruce, before she moved on toward the Storage Room. She would make certain that, if Bruce did die, his death wouldn't be in vain... She hated having people die around her that weren't the target she was assigned to take down...

Barnes perked up at the sound of the distant gunshot. "Well, that certainly didn't sound good..." he said, standing up...

Clarence was pacing outside the lab door like a big cat, occasionally pausing to look in, hooting restlessly when he saw the aggravated Compies, the little dinosaurs cautiously, but steadily, closing on the intruders...

Maxwell loads up his shotgun. "Shall we go check it out, sir?" Maxwell says, hoping for the best.....

"You boys stay here. Take care of Mr. Dodgson and our new friend here," Barnes said, gesturing at Jenkins, who was looking over the monitors busily, trying to find the source of the sound. "I'll head out and check it out."

A pair of male Velociraptors rounded the corner, screeching aggressively at Bruce, who shouted back, "Bring it on, you f**king chicken rejects!" Suddenly, several more Raptors followed the males, and Bruce paused. "Uh oh..."

Jack raced along with Persephone, glancing over his shoulder at Bruce, and the rapidly growing pack of Velociraptors...

Maxwell nods before saying, "Good luck. Oh, and take this- you may need it." Maxwell hands Barnes his combat knife.

Barnes took the combat knife from Max, tucking it into his belt. "Thanks. Hopefully, though, I won't have to get that close..."

The females came next, showing their teeth and snarling lowly, bobbing their heads. A few made full-on threat displays, spreading their arms to show their formidable hand claws.

Jacob's hand emerged from behind his coat as he rounded one of the tables, hand swinging upwards casually, as he suddenly shoved David down behind the large table, diving behind it just as a grenade dropped down on the horde of Compies, obscured till the last second by the size of the table, detonating 2 feet above them, the frag grenade's shrapnel spraying out across the entire group, ripping the persistent creatures apart with a loud bang, Jacob sitting silent, the animals were reduced to a bloody, lumpy, scorched paste. "God I hate doing that" he sighed irritably...

Bruce growled back at the raptors, then fired his gun, just once, hoping to frighten the animals away. This time, however, his aim was dead on: the bullet hit one of the lead males straight in his feathery chest, sending the dinosaur tumbling back with a shocked squawk. After a moment of flailing madly on his side, the Velociraptor went still, eyes glazed over, blood leaking from the hole in his chest, staining the green feathers. The rest of the pack abruptly fell silent, looking down at the dead male, then back up at Bruce, baring their fangs in furious snarls. "Oh... sh*t..."

The grenade's incredibly loud bang sent the remaining Compies scampering away in every direction, squeaking in fear and surprise, retreating to the far walls, though they still continued to watch the humans carefully...

Persephone continued to run, her magnum in hand. If need be, she would shoot her way back to where Dodgson was once they got into the Storage Room...

One of the dominant females let out an enraged screech, hopping forward to nose the dead male's body in a brief show of mourning, then turned to the other lead males, fury glittering in her amber eyes.

"Better than getting shredded by a grenade. IF there's anything left of them, they'll be shell-shocked, terrified, deafened for life and likely seriously injured" said Jacob as he walked towards the entrance of Lab Section A, HK 416 in hand, irritation making it's mark in his attitude. these animals were becoming a nuisance...

The Velociraptors charged at Bruce, who fired his pistol wildly, emptying his clip into the incoming pack, killing a second and wounding a third, before one of the males finally entered attack range, making a terrific leap through the air, legs extended towards the human's chest. Bruce barely had time to register the attack before he felt the animal's weight slam into his chest with enough force to knock him on his back, knocking the wind out of him and stunning him. Searing pain lanced through his chest and shoulders as the predator's bladelike claws dug into his flesh, and he managed to blink away tears just in time to see the Velociraptor's head lunge at his face, jaws wide open...

Jack did his best to not turn around and stop when he heard Bruce's agonized screams, drowned out by the tearing of flesh and the furious screeches of the Velociraptors. That was when he saw the large door up ahead as they rounded another corner. A large arrow painted onto the metal floor pointed inside, marked HEAVY STORAGE. "There it is!" He shouted. "Let's move!"

Clarence backed up slightly, annoyed at the loud noise, though it was muffled by the thick doors. He watched the humans approach the door carefully, but kept a respectable distance...

David looked around the bloodied floor, chunks of the small feathery creatures scattered across the room. Blood smeared the walls where shrapnel sliced into stray compies. "Hmm. Its like...dino chille in here. Say, should we get Clarence in here? Have him get a load of this before filling him with lead?" He joked

Persephone also saw the arrow, then bolted in the direction it was pointing. A single tear streaked down her face, but she quickly shook it off as she dashed toward the door. She would avenge Bruce's death... she would personally make certain of that.

The tyrannosaur continued to investigate on the outside, after its futile attempts to get in from the front. Hoping to find whatever caused the blood trail for an easy meal, the gargantuan creature began circling around the building, a very faint bang reaching its sophisticated senses, only aiding in fueling the tyrannosaur's desire to get inside...

Driven into a near-frenzy at the deaths of their packmates, the females tore at what flesh they could reach, exacting their revenge for the loss of one of their leaders.

Bruce was quickly killed when the lead male had torn his face and throat apart, but the Velociraptors continued to tear at his twitching corpse in a fury, blood pooling around the body as they did so...

Jack pushed open the heavy wooden doors and stepped inside. The storage center was, surprisingly, still dark. "Must ACTUALLY be powerless in here," Jack said, shining his light around. The room was very large, easily 100 feet from one end to the other, lined with dozens, if not hundreds, of shelves and pallets holding all manner of paraphernalia. Fortunately, the shelves seemed labeled on their ends, so Jack began pacing along them, looking for a sign related to military weaponry. "Hey Persephone, watch the door. Warn me if those little fuzzy freaks try to get in..."

"Yes Jack." Persephone responded as she kept the door open a creak once she was inside. If she saw ANY sign of raptors down the hallway, she would slam the door shut and press herself against it. She wasn't one to think of the Jurassic Park films as accurate, but the scenes with the raptors opening doors wasn't making her mind too happy right now...
