[The Kingpin]

As Drake parked the car, he looked over at Diana. "Keep an eye on that sign" he said. he turned off the engine and looked at it. within seconds, one corner of it had lit on fire, orange flames spreading across it rapidly. he then looked back to Gunther. "What is it Gunther?"...

[Tediz]

He looked extremely nervous. "Well, I... Uhh.... Sir, you....." Carter reached out a hand, closing Gunther's long mouth. He reached between them and held out the rolled up parchment. Carter looked at Drake with disgust. "Read it."

Drake reached behind him, grabbing the parchment, wondering what it could be, and unravelled it, beginning to read...


"Dear Drake Romero,

We are pleased to inform you that you have now come into possession of the young demon who goes under the name of Gunther. As he is now yours, you have full freedom to...."

the letter continued on, though Drake folded it up and looked at Gunther. "And what is this about?" he asked, his scrutinising gase on the Demon...

[Shade]

Nyx peeked over Drake's shoulder at the note. "Sweet, you have a demon strong-arm!" she said teasingly.

Quinn and Cap, surprised at the sign, quickly pulled the sign down and beat it until the flames died away. Cap looked up at the parked car as Velkor stepped out. He was well aware of the fact that someone had purposely done it, but for the moment he didn't really care. "Welcome, friends! I do hope you enjoy my show," said Cap cheerily, grinning his pointed fangs. "By the way, that will 5 dollars each..."

Wisp looked over at the note, pouting. "I thought you were my slave-type person..."

[Tediz]

Gunther sighed. "... They weren't happy with Wisp. They put me in contact with her so I could get you people to trust me. But they've decided that following a girl around that doesn't really... Do anything isn't enough to test me."

He inhaled. "So... They picked the one out of the group who could fight the best, and put me in his control. that would be you."

Gunther looked embarrassed. He didn't know why he was embarrassed. He just was.

Drake looked at Gunther, deciding to deal with the somewhat sleezy looking carnival owner before continuing. he drew 2 solid 20 dollar bills and handed it to the man, before winding the windows back up. he looked back at Gunther and said "i'm not the kind of guy who believes in this slave business. but i'll tell you what. until i tell you otherwise, your job will be to watch over the others in our little group. if anything tries to harm them, you help them. if you can't cover them all yourself for whatever reason, let me know". and with that, he turned off the engine and climbed out, closing the door of the car and taking note of the vehicle that had been following them, which was not leaving. they were moving particularly slowly for visitors, so he pretended not to notice them, while focusing his supernatural senses on the vehicle to be able to guess whether they were actually following him...

"I hope this place is as fun as you say," Nyx said. "The owner didn't look at all too friendly." Diana swallowed and tried to get her nerves under control, whatever was going to happen was going to happen soon.

Cap smiled, handing the 20s to a very flustered Quinn. "Come in, and enjoy the show. I'm sure you'll be quite entertained." He stepped aside, hands on his cane, letting the group pass. Velkor and Wisp, muttering to herself about how she did plenty of important things, walked past, eager to check out the sights. "Oh," Cap said quickly, "don't forget to check out our newest attraction! Speaking of which, come, Quinn, we have work to attend to. I don't think many more people will be coming anyway." The large, imposing, tattooed werewolf stood by the entrance to collect tickets as Quinn and Cap walked back into the carnival...

[Zephyr]

Stop the car!, Desh shouted he pushed Nik forcing his foot down on the brakes as the car jerked forward in a abrupt stop as it skid to a halt. Desh scrambled out of the vehicle and stood beside the door looking out at the carnival. He began running ahead leaving the others behind. Korso, having recovered from the sudden stop, and rubbing his head, slid out of the car and called to the werewolf. Desh... where you going? Desh continued running forward almost having not heard his friend as his mind raced.

Drake noticed the car stopping abruptily, the Werewolf leaping out. he focused on it, his hand around the grip of his magnum in his coat, having placed it there rather than udner his suit jacket for easy access. if it got too closes or acted offensively...he'd kill it...

The big werewolf stepped in front of Desh, growling, "5 dollars, please." Velkor called over his shoulder, "Would you idiots get in here already?"

[Shade]

Diana sniffed the air as she walked in, but turned her head around abruptly to look at the werewolf. It couldn't be, it just can't be, she thought her heart racing. Suddenly she broke away from Thanatos and ran full tilt at what she knew had to be Desh. "Desh, Desh!" she called, tears running down her cheeks. She melted into her wolf form and leapt onto Desh, knocking him to the ground and she started to lick his face.

[Zephyr]

Diana! Desh was overjoyed as she knocked him down. He rolled around laughing with her in his arms. Look at you! How did...? words escaped him he was overjoyed at seeing his love and even more so now that he saw she could turn into a wolf. Desh lauged in excitement and the smile on his face was the first genuine smile he wore since he escaped from the mines in Brazil. Diana i cant believe its you! he hugged her tightly, I was worried about you i never stopped thinking that you'd be waiting.

Drake looked at the couple. So this is the guy they told me about ages ago....Desh....interesting name. "Hey Diana, care to deal with this reunion on the other side of the carnival's entrance? i think Velkor's going to burst if we spend anymore time outside" he said with a smirk...

Velkor watched the scene with little interest, looking back into the carnival. Wisp was literally flying around patrons' heads, looking for the most interesting things in the place. There were all sorts of supernatural beings that were always different in some way from their normal counterparts, like a Werewolf who could change into a cat instead of a wolf. There were even strange humans reminiscent of classic "freak shows," and they seemed to be perfectly calm around a crowd of primarily supernatural beings...

[Shade]

Diana melted back into human form and hugged him back. "I can't believe it," she gasped. "I thought... I almost-" Then she heard Drake's call. "You guys go on without me, I'll... we'll catch up to you later," she called back.

Vincent and Nik parked the car and looked at their former passenger. "Well, that was interesting," Vincent inquired.

[Zephyr]

Desh looked at the people Diana called back to. Made some friends while i was gone i see... im glad you werent alone. Desh smiled sincerely. He stroked her hair gently it was as soft as he remembered and yet somehow she was even more beautiful then ever. My dear Diana, i should never have left you. Desh hugged her close. Can you forgive me? Desh's eyes shimmered like golden spheres with hopefulness.

Kosrso emerged from the car. So... this is your little girlfriend huh? Heh i can see why you wanted to get back to her so badly. the preacher teased.

[Shade]

"Always," Diana whispered. "I have so much to tell you, you have no idea!" Diana looked at Korso and smiled. "You've made friends as well I see," she said.

Velkor spotted a large, yellow tent in the distance, with a sign similar to the one on the ad. The Demon hissed, "And there's the big attraction!" He yelled across the carnival, "Guys, come on already!"

The werewolf at the entrance simply rolled his eyes and turned his attention on the rest of the patrons who trickled in, ignoring Desh and Diana until they decided to go in...
