"This is what happens when you don't watch the show," replied Velkor, looking over at Korso. "You miss very important things."

"After what i've seen in the last 800 something years, i doubt there's anything out there that could surprise me" said Drake as he got up. "Anyway, show's over. unless there's some other accident prone source of amusement you'd like to show me, i'd like to get back home and give Mike a call" he added as he walked out of the tent, tapping Quinn on the back. "Piece of advice: go start a regular carnival. much more predictable than the unique variety you're trying to operate. be glad nobody got killed....would've lost you alot of business" he said, before continuing, not slowing his pace, though it was relaxed. Spencer barely glanced at the escaped Demon as he puffed his cigarette, waiting to make sure everyone else had gone ahead...

Cap shouted, "Wait a sec!" He hobbled over to Drake as fast as he could, panting, "Sir, you seem like the kind of man who could deal with this situation. Can I make you an offer? I promise you will be paid handsomely." Quinn rubbed his sore back, having fallen awkwardly when the Jersey Devil got free. He muttered to himself, "This is just great..."

Drake stopped, looking over his shoulder at the man, almost amused. "You make alot of promises, my friend. but if that claim of the cage being break-proof is anything to go by, i'd rather not indulge in whatever handsome payment you have to offer. besides......I'm a mercenary, a hired gun...the only way you'd get that thing back is dead, or worse...my profession doesn't cover stray pet retrieval" he said, his face completely straight, no emotion evident, though his eyes showed an oddly indifferent look in them...

Diana watched the Devil fly and couldn't help smiling after it, the irony of the moment was just too much. "And why would you want to capture it again?" she asked Cap. "Now that it's tasted it'll be harder to contain."

Thanatos smirked. She would know about that he thought.

"We know what went wrong," replied Cap desperately. "Those mistakes can be avoided this time, but we need that creature back alive, or at least in one piece! It's part of the show, and it's going to be our major source of income! If you really need to shoot it, just use a tranquilizer gun. It knocks it out easily." He rubbed a hand across his slicked-back hair. "Please, sir, there has to be something you want in return for recapturing that creature?"

"I told you. this isn't my job. go hire some big game hunter to do it" said Drake, not even bothering to look back this time. he didn't have the time, and wasn't in the mood, to go hunting for a lost circus attraction that would most likely get an innocent killed...

Cap watched Drake leave, frowning. "Quinn, get the rifle. Let's bag this catch ourselves."

The Jersey Devil perched in the treetops, watching the patrons begin leaving the carnival. The creature was hungry for blood, but it wouldn't try anything yet, not until it could isolate prey...

[Zephyr]

Desh held a stern expression as he looked from Drake to Cap and to the forest where the Devil had flown off too. Something urged him to go after the creature, perhaps the chemicals were taking affect again, increasing his aggresiveness. But he held it in and he took Diana's hand and spoke softly, Come on, you can tell me everything when we get to a safe place. He had the idea that the group was already staying someplace but he figured it was best to voice his thoughts. He smiled gently to her, his eyes glowing like spheres of pure gold.

Diana nodded and gripped his hand back. "Yeah we'll talk at the safehouse," she said. Nyx sighed. "So now what do we do, now that your carnival idea is a bust?" she asked Velkor.

Velkor crossed his arms, thinking. "I don't know about you, but I'm heading back to the safehouse." "I call TV!" shouted Wisp, zipping past her surrogate brother and toward the car...

[Tediz]

The Purple Wisp of smoke and the Crow both flew down, towards the Jersey Devil. The Crow landed right in front of it, looking up at him. "Well hello there. Remember me?"

Before the Demon would have time to retaliate, the wisp of smoke wrapped around it's body, tightening like a rope. An evil, maniacal, cackling laughter sounded out as it did this.

The Crow looked up at the thing. "Before you try to eat us, Jersey Devil... You should listen. You are capable of understanding speech, yes?"

The laughter died down, which was replaced by a second voice. "Oh yes indeed! Wouldn't you like to have just so many thousands of people to eat? Be awfully tasty!"

The Devil glared down at the Crow, hissing furiously, but saying nothing, instead struggling to get free.

Drake headed towards the car, looking at Wisp as he went. "We need tranquilisers for that girl" he grunted...

[Shade]

Nyx rolled her eyes at Drake's comment. Thanatos gave a weak smile. He turned his head and looked at Diana and Desh. He nearly gagged as he imagined what might happen when they got home.

After Spencer was sure everyone was heading to the car, he followed, puffing on his cigarette calmly...

Drake looked back at the others, a thought hitting him. where was Desh gonna sleep? the only double bed was the one he'd taken, and there wasn't another room. as it was Gunther didn't have a room either...

Velkor followed Wisp inside the car, sitting down in his usual seat. "I swear, they are a bunch of living killjoys..."

"We love you too, Velkor," Diana said teasingly scooching over to make room for Desh.

Drake got into the car and started the engine. looking back at everyone, he considered asking mike to swap the Land Cruiser with a minibus. every day there seemed to be more of them. First Gunther then the wolf, and now Desh...

"Please tell me you're joking," growled Velkor with a smirk. Wisp peeked out the window towards the woods, muttering, "I wanted to see the Devil thingy..."
