The smaller alien spoke up, giving a precise street name within the city, though the words were hard for the man to understand. Such was life on an alien planet...

Kystion flew on, having no idea where the destination was. He typed in a command with his free hand on one of the consoles before him. A map of the city appeared on the screen, taken from the craft's scanners. Running the address through the computer, the location was marked. The craft, portrayed as a red triangle on the map, was heading away from the location. Kystion grumbled something, yanking the steering column about. The craft leaned to the right as it swung about in the air, making a sharp U turn before heading right for the cloaked man's home.

"We're more than mercs, pal," Boortis snarled. Vorhess barked, "Cut the chatter, Boortis!" Turning to Naz'h, he added, "Not sure. Maybe a few minutes. I'm sure you can wait."

the Vardian jets streaked upwards as their primary targets were destroyed. below, Serephir and his men emerged from the base, a ridged ovular object plummeting out of the sky, thick wings extending to the side, jet engines built into the wings roaring to life, the fusion drive cores powering the non-atmospheric engines cutting it's power to reroute to slow the craft down, the dropship slowing to a hover, the crackling shield shimmering over the craft, faint hexagonal patterns visible on the shield's barrier, the large cargo bay door opening to allow everyone entrance, Serephir rushing his men in before entering itself, the doors sealing themselves just as Lissarkh and Grievous boarded, the T-20 locking into a spot in the ceiling of the personnel compartment they were now in, becoming part of the internal defences, as the dropship took off into space, heading for the Fury...

"Viewports are structural weaknesses. dangerous on a ship this size" responded Serephir. hitting a few buttons on his gauntlet computer, it synced with the dropship's controls, a few faint beeps being heard, the walls of the dropship coming to life with crystal clear holographic screens, showing everything surrounding the ship via very simple, but effective camera systems built into the surface layer of the dropship. down the middle of the personnel compartment was a long row of seats. the entire compartment was equipped with an effective dynamic gravity field to nullify the effects of rapid movement in and out of atmosphere and at varying altitudes...

"Of course," Grievous replied. "This works, though." He stuck out five fingers on his hand, silently counting down and watching the distant Covenant base. He closed his hand into a fist, and a split-second later the charges blew, igniting the reactor and making a brilliant blue explosion that continued to expand in a large hemispherical shape, vaporizing everything in the clearing around the base, everything underground, and a good swathe of forest around it, leaving nothing but glass where there was once soil. Grievous chuckled. "This day just keeps getting better and better!"

on the edges of the explosion, the Vardian jets were seen screeching up into the atmosphere, glowing brightly from the sheer heat of the hull of the crafts as they roared into space. the rest of the Vardian forces present planetside had left long ago, shortly after surface combat had stopped, with only the jets remaining to maintain military supremecy in the area for the remainder of the operation...

"Impressive explosion" said Serephir. "But the issue still remains...how are we going to find the Covenent forces now?"...

"Maybe our little friend, Mendicant Bias can tell us," Grievous replied, nodding at the little machine. "Maybe even the Jedi, if he survived. Or, maybe your Geth can. However, you can interrogate the Geth yourself. I'm not letting it on my ship." "Why must you meddlers always destroy everything in your path?" Bias piped up indignantly. "We just saved you, lightbulb, so I suggest you shut it," Grievous snarled. Lissarkh rolled her eyes. "Maybe you should talk to Bias too, Serephir. I don't trust Grievous with him."

Naz'h shook his head in impatience. He was beginning to question whether this whole campaign was really worth the trouble it was causing them.

Soon enough, a Blue Suns frigate arrived out of Hyperspace next to the freighter, sending a shuttle towards the ship. "Alright, unseal the airlocks," Vorhess said into his comlink. "Let them in." Looking back to Naz'h, he continued, "While you won't be able to speak to Mr. Santiago in person, rest assured that we can patch him through to you."

The Covenant Stealth Corvette exited Slipspace, drifting among the stars towards a massive ship that was as large as, if not larger than the HVMS Executioner, made up of three bulbous sections connected to each other. The Supercruiser was one member of a massive Covenant armada hovering around an even larger space station, shaped like two teardrop-shaped sections, their narrow ends connecting, with a spoked ring around the center: the Unyielding Hierophant. Ripa had no time to enjoy the view, however. Boarding the Supercruiser with Candor and Majorus, he made his way swiftly towards the bridge, taking his usual position at the tall pedestal in the center of the room. "Ripa," Candor said with exasperation, "We cannot keep this up forever. We have to take action now! The Oracle--" "It is not an oracle!" Ripa barked angrily. "It is a machine, nothing more." Candor paused, then continued. "Regardless, the... machine may tell that human and his companions about what we extracted from it." "It won't matter," Majorus interjected. "We have far greater concerns." Ripa nodded. "Whatever information Mendicant Bias releases will not matter. However, that Geth infiltrator may prove to be more troublesome..." "Why? It is merely a Geth." "Yes, but an enemy Geth. I was not told that the Geth were in a d*mned civil war!" Ripa turned to the holographic screens that showed the Unyielding Hierophant outside. "It doesn't matter. Soon, the true gods will return, and we will sit proudly at their side while the rest of the sentient species in this galaxy are reduced to dust!"

Those still devouring the facility were vaporized, though the ones already assembled were already spreading across the planet. They made no move to draw attention to themselves, however...more would take the place of those lost...but first they would wait. When the attention was taken away from the planet, they would continue their harvest and become stronger from it...

The rampant wildlife of Florn mostly ignored the explosion, continuing their ongoing battle for dominance, attacking anything and everything that moved, including the eaters...

The craft streaked through the bright orange skies before slowing to a stop as it neared its destination. It descended at a level vertical, turning about as it did so to avoid the surrounding buildings. The landing gear lowered as the ship neared the ground, a cushion of air blasting away at the sandy streets, kicking up a dust cloud that made the onlookers shield their eyes. The ship eased down gently with a small bounce on the suspension, the cloud dessipating. With a mechanical hum, the ramp lowered. "Everybody off of the bus!" Kystion said as his seat belt was released, shooting back into a slot in the seat with a zipping noise. He got up and stepped about his seat, proceeding to walk down the ship's length...

"I intend to" responded Serephir simply. "Oh. a little heads up. expect some crackling and a bit of pain once we reach the frigate that's taking us to Trandosha. safety measure to make sure there aren't any foreign objects onboard" he warned as he glanced at Grievous and Lissarkh...

The Dropship reached a small military frigate, the HVMS Redemption. "Here we go men. crackle time. try not to wet yourselves" said Serephir to the men, a few chuckles coming from the crew...

"I think we can handle it," Lissarkh replied with a smirk. "What, the Geth isn't a foreign object?" Grievous added sarcastically.

"I've marked it as legally aboard. anything hitching a ride on it, a poisonous insect on Florn, for example, will be caught out. we use it to eliminate volatile materials on the shuttle mostly. biological threats are stunned if possible, before being isolated and marked for extraction by a small science team on board some vessels, or stored in cryogenic stasis until it can be looked at" answered Serephir...

as the Dropship entered the hanger, a series of crackling sounds were heard, sparks appearing over the dropship's hull as the selective barrier seperating the hanger from deep space destroyed any and all foreign objects on and in the vessel, leaving only that identified as wanted by Serephir via his console. the craft drifted in and spun so it's back end was facing the interior of the hanger, drifting backwards and haulting in a small dock, the personnel compartment's wide door splitting and extending to form a ramp off the craft, Serephir walking out towards a hallways and ascending a staircase as his men moved towards the resident Field Officer's office for debriefing, their weapons packages being placed on racks on the wall for storage until they were used again...

As Serephir reached the top of the staircase he found himself on the smal, but spacious bridge of the vessel. soldiers guarding the stairwell saluted the General, Serephir walking towards the Captain of the vessel, a man in his mid 50s with greying brown hair, and blue eyes, the man looking battleworn and experienced. the Captain gave Serephir a salute, revealing a burn-scarred hand. "Captain Robert Koboll. Welcome aboard General" said the Captain, clad in a grey and white uniform, 4 crescent silver chevrons on his epaulettes, a single gold star in their arc. "At ease, Captain. My gratitude for receiving us" said Serephir, to which the Captain nodded. "The pleasure is ours, i'm sure, General. The lower ranks of our forces rarely get to see a figure of your caliber, and it's a good lesson to the men on what a perfect soldier is supposed to act" responded the Captain. "My thanks for the compliments, Captain, but i am hardly perfect. Were i perfect we would not have lost 3 men down there, we would not have been captured by the enemy, and external combat support would not have been required" answered Serephir. the Captain simply shook his head. "Sir, Not even perfect men can control imperfect situations. You did what you could" answered the Captain. Serephir simply shrugged. "Everyone has their own opinion. but that is hardly the purpose of our presence here" said Serephir, the Captain nodding. "Of course, General. forgive me for the distraction. We will take you back to Trandosha immediately". Serephir nodded, before walking towards a small conference table in the back of the bridge, meant for about 5 people, the General sitting down and gesturing for Lissarkh and Grievous to do the same. "Uh, Sir, not to intrude, but...isn't that a Geth?" said a young man, seemingly in his mid 20s, to the Captain once Serephir had gone to the table. the 3 silver cresent chevrons on his epaulettes marked him as a Commander aboard the ship. "Yes, it is" responded the Captain. "Aren't they...i dunno...hostile?" answered the Commander. "Yeah. i don't like it either. but it's the General's choice, and looking at it, it's in no condition to cause trouble here. have the guards on watch though...just in case" said the Captain. the Commander nodded, walking towards the various guards around the bridge, giving them orders to be ready, but not to fire at the machine unless given the order...

The machines fought back against the wildlife, using a combination of plasma weaponry and rending claws to obliterate anything in their path, even those that were busy fighting each other. The iron and other such materials in the blood of the creatures was absorbed by the microscopic machines, their harvest of materials even extending to biological organisms...

The man got up wordlessly, his companion doing the same as they both walked out of the ship. The man continued toward the building, but his companion stopped near their new ally. "Thanks again for all the help. Its good to know there are at least some good folks on this dusty rock." the small alien said, smiling, before hopping off the ramp...

"Good folk" Kystion muttered to himself as the two left. "I thought I'd never see the day a pirate was called 'good'." He said after a while. He shrugged and waved goodbye to the strangers. He had to admit, it felt kind of...nice. He then turned about, heading back to his consoles. He'd be needed back at the pub, and he wasnt planning on getting fired on his first day...

OOC: Not that it's particularly important, but Florn wildlife does not have iron in its blood, it has copper (hence the blue color).

Grievous and Lissarkh sat down as well, the cyborg giving the Geth a wary look as he laid it on the ground next to his chair, while Mendicant Bias floated nearby. "If you're going to wake it up, make sure you're prepared to resist any hacking attempts, General," Grievous said. "You don't want it calling friends, or worse, taking control of the ship."
