"This is... true..." replied Proteus. "Even so, that third one... why not... let it... escape? What harm could... it possibly bring?"

"Well, apart from calling in others, none....but i was hungry, and it was the nearest thing at the time" responded Horus simply, as he continued to feed off the dead monster...

Proteus simply shrugged it off. "I... know little of this planet... so I will not... judge."

Horus, seeing an end to the short conversation, once again ascended to resume his watch for threats, ripping the wing off the Gyaos and eating it as he flew upwards...

Pred-1, eventually spotting the moving vegetation after several unsuccessful scans otherwise, fired a volley of missiles to gauge what would happen...

A number of vine-like tendrils exploded out of the ground, using themselves as shields to block the explosives, detonating them safely away from where Biovine blended with the jungle around him. The tendrils mangled and falling apart, they retracted back into the ground, Biovine lifting his hands off the ground as they retracted completely, standing to his full height, the area around him suddenly devoid of foliage, which was used to heal him. Pores on his shoulders fired twin streams of acid at the mech, aiming for its chest...

Osiris regarded the confrontation with mild interest. He ploughed into the mangled corpse at full speed splitting the charred remains in half, a wave beginning to form infront of his head as he neared the shallows. Coming close to the beachhead, the mech pushed his arms down, claws touching the sea floor and dragging along, he slowed before pushing himself up out of the water, landing onto his feet and rising up out of the sea, the wave ahead of him crashing onto the American beach. Water poured off the giant's armour, his spine aeriels flashing green brightly, the fan like ridge tensing momentarily, carrying his momentum into a plodding walk, the water only up to his shins. He was currently hunched over, using his tail to balance himself like a therapod dinosaur, claws flexing and rotating around their strange fist independent to each other as Osiris tested his Frame to make sure the journey hadn't damaged it.

"No sign of trouble anywhere.....yet" came Horus' message as he watched the area from above. he had implimented thermal imagery to allow him to see even the smallest sources of heat. other sensors continued searching in case that failed. he flew over Osiris from several thousand feet above, scanning for a sign of trouble...

Proteus followed Horus, asking, "What, exactly... are we... looking for?"

Pred-1 suddenly jinked to the side, the acid streams zipping past him. Firing another cluster of missiles at Biovine, the mech dove down lower, using the distraction to land safely a few hundred meters away from the plant creature...

"Anything that may pose a threat. humans or monsters. so far i'm starting to doubt human presence in the area. usually humans would be watched over by mechs. the lack of mechs in the area should be a good sign for us, but we need to make sure there aren't any other monsters either" snarled Horus as he gulped down the last of the Gyaos with a loud crunch, beating his wings powerfully as he glided over the ruins below...

Biovine's arm seemed to fan out, increasing the about of foliage on it, using the fortified limb to protect against the explosives, lowering the now-mangled hand, lumbering forward toward the grounded mech...

"I... highly doubt... that any monsters in these... lands will pose... a threat," replied Proteus simply.

Pred-1 fired his mouth-mounted maser, which bore a resemblance to that of Kiryu's. The beam splashed against the monster, while Pred-1 backed up, keeping the beam constant, trying to keep his distance for the time being.

A simple one line of text reached Osiris. "Something is watching us. Be on your guard". Placentra was detecting odd readings, reading similar to the ones both he and Osiris gave off..

Osiris straightened up proceeding off the beach onto land, replying to Placentra "Any idea on what it is?" and scanning his surroundings idly.

Many kilometres away, from the safety of a barely visible city, a small machine stood, watching the approaching beings. It was actually quite large, over 12 metres tall, but compared to the giants which ruled the planet now it was an insect. It stood on top of an old multi-storey car park, long abandoned, using it as a watch post, red eyes glistening with eager interest. The Duvan'rah known as Setsus had been waiting for this group for quite a while. He had spotted them through the human satellites and now they had finally arrived. He opened a private and secured com link "They're here."
Another presence replied "Good. Your boosting your signal?"
"Have been for the last few minutes, since the Gyaos went after them."
"Excellent. Good luck, little one."
"Just don't miss and I'll be fine."

The monkey like machine leapt away from his post, crushing down onto a smaller building before pouncing onto the street, making his way further into the ruined and abandoned city, putting all his concentration into his presence of mind, as if he were attempting to nano-form a particularly stable chunk of metal... Acting like a beacon for the new comers to home in on....

Horus spotted a city in the distance, one of a numbered few dotting the landscape, though it was the nearest, and, from what he could see, the most intact one. he decided that it would be a good place to start searching for threats, as monsters tended to frequent abandoned cities due to the cover it offered, especially in the case of smaller ones such as the Gyaos...

Osiris replied "hmm.. So what should we do? Go find it and see if its active? And should we tell Horus?"

"No, we dont tell Horus. He'll have a fit about it being evil, or try to recruit it into our little group here if its not, and quite frankly, the fact the blob is now tagging along makes me uncomfortable, if this keeps up, GDF will spot our blue as*es in no time. I suggest just wandering over there and see what happens." Placetra replied

Osiris replied, amused "haha. Sure." The machine proceeded on towards the city without changing his pace, able to sense the signal by himself now.

Horus flew onwards, scanning the city warily. he had enough sense to know that SOMETHING was there....but whether it was large or small, or posed a threat, he had no idea.....

halfway across the planet, Bane swam between the numerous islands that were scattered around Malaysia, swimming past the remains of Penang as he went, mangled ferries half sticking out of the shallow waters, fishing trawlers laying capsized or impaled on one of the tall jagged rocks. the outbreak of monsters had really taken it's toll on the once popular tourist magnet. Bane considered making himself a lair below the surface here...a safehouse of sorts for when things got too heated on the surface...
